If a customer or rep calls out an email address by spelling the alphabets, and maybe numbers in some cases. Should I still write the email address in full after I've written it the way it was spelled out? |

Mekanus:Just type out the email. Forget about any spelled out way. You don't need to repeat it. A single line will do. |
Re: Self Employment Opportunity: Transcribing For A Living In Nigeria Part 1 by Mekanus(m): 9:43pm On Nov 29, 2019 |
Estringx:I asked this because I did just as you said now, but I was penalized for doing that. The rating note said "Transcribe spelled out words as mentioned by the speaker." And there was another time I just transcribed it as it was spelled out, but they still said "email address format not followed." Maybe I will just transcribe the spelled out words and still bring them together to follow the email format next time. Me I no understand again ooo

I have this feeling, Qa -world rating is at the mercy of raters. I can say this anywhere. Lately, I accumulated consecutive 3s and few 5s. I discovered that even those audio scripts rated 3, were more professional than those rated 5. I can belt this with anything. If you have a different view let me know, thanks. |
Re: Self Employment Opportunity: Transcribing For A Living In Nigeria Part 1 by SpongeBobSP: 12:48pm On Nov 30, 2019 |
Estringx:You do have to bear in mind that there are different people rating this thing, so it's really inconsistent sometimes, and I've noticed that myself. Some of their SCCs are really strict, going into very tiny details, detailsI know I've gotten away with on other transcripts, even gotten a 5! So just do your own part in making sure you submit your best work, there's not much you can do about these things, it pisses me off sometimes, but it is what it is. 2 Likes |
Re: Self Employment Opportunity: Transcribing For A Living In Nigeria Part 1 by samsard(m): 12:51pm On Nov 30, 2019 |
Richardlove:There's a rating guideline, some so called minor errors get a major markdown. If the audio is challenging, they also are a bit more lenient as long as you put in a decent effort. And yes, there's a bit related f subjectivity in every human judgement. Do refer to the rating guide and dispute any rating you're not comfortable with, you might end up with a worse rating at the end, if I may warn. Been there, done that. 1 Like |

SpongeBobSP:Exactly bro. The one that pained me most was when the same mistake I was penalized for was still in the passing transcript, and the person still got a 5 rating. |
