Sowore: Atiku Condemns Attack, Says Rule Of Law Must Be Respected by MisterGrace: 5:50pm On Dec 06, 2019

Alh. Atiku Abubakar has come out to condemn the attack on Mr. Sowore and his rearrest while court proceeding was going on.

The former vice president and presidential aspirant wrote "To keep Nigeria a democracy is the paramount duty of all concerned stakeholders. Please speak up against this tyranny and side with the Nigerian people."

This among other tweets he posted on his twitter page.

Mr. Sowore who was released barely 24 hours ago after a court order was rearrested earlier today in court.
The DSS according to report, chased out the presiding judge and then proceeded to arrest Mr. Sowore despite resistance from his lawyers and family members.

H.E Atiku went further to state that "Without the rule of law, there can be no rule at all. Power in Nigeria still flows from the people, not from the barrel of a gun. I call on all men and women of goodwill not to keep quiet or sit on the fence at times like this."

"We cannot have a situation where our government is quick to obey foreign court orders and even quicker to disobey domestic court orders. This is symptomatic of a mindset that is servile to foreign powers and brutal to Nigerians.'

"I further call for all law enforcement agencies in Nigeria to immediately respect not just the court order made by Justice Ojukwu, but the order of any court in Nigeria, on any detainee, be it Omoyele Sowore, Sambo Dasuki or Ibrahim Zakzaky, among others."

With Sowore and the freedom to exist/be without repression and oppression. Sowore today, tomorrow it can be anyone.

Hi-time to drop ethnic sentiments and lend our voices to the young man's release.

Its not a man thats being held. Its the spirit of the youth, freedom and expression.

We stand with freedom/liberty. We speak against tyranny and dictatorship. We lend our voices and support and demand for the release of Sowore.

Atiku has lent his voice, he demand other leaders of different fields to rise to the occasion and speak up like we did during Abacha's era. One youth touched, is all of us touched. We demand the release of Omoyele Sowore and his our fellow comrade Mr. Bakare

Come to think of it, the entire legislative arm is complicit. PDP stayed in power too long they don't know how to play opposition politics. They need lessons from the US democrats.

I mean what exactly are their aspirations for 2023?

I would have expected that every senator in the opposition be the ones to lead a protest to the DSS office where Sowore is held. The Occupy Nigeria protest during Jonathan's era held water simply because the opposition was a part of it.

This isn't about Yele, it's about the future of our country.

GEJ made PMB accepted and desirable by Nigerians across divides now PMB is doing a very great job at making Nigerians desire GEJ. What an irony? Financial corruption is NOT THE WORST OF ALL AFTER ALL. The brazen subversion of judicial institutions, human right violation etc are far worst than the former.

Thank you for the mention.

But going by the current state of things in the country, do you think any youth are ready to even fight for themselves, not to talk of even fighting for their families right and not to even talk of fighting for a friend or somebody who they have not benefited from.

The scarce truth is that we Nigerian youth are afraid to talk and act so that we won't be reminded behind bars.

Our freedom of expression has been caged by the present administration, alot of young leaders spirit has been killed, we are all scared of the unknown that might befall us.

Most times I just think why I was born into this country, one of the reason I have been taking a lot of careful step not to give birth to my children in this country.

Because I see a stagnant country, and country retogressing and not ready to move forward.

Thanks for the response.

I watched a movie where two extremely strong sides were going against bone another.

The followers on the side of one were scared as the battle was beyond their battle-strength. It was then a voice rose up and made an announcement that little strength put together can also be useful even in battles of elephants

I choose to reckon with this logic that discontentment beyond tolerable levels would always lead to change. It was always been the case throughout history. By voicing our opinions on air, on traditional media. As we continue to travel than the path towards our future, silence must never be negotiated as must speak and not hold back. Till our desires comes to fruitition Sir

With Sowore we stand. No to Tyranny and Dictatorship. I rather risk a war than lose my liberty

Divide Nigeria NOW.

There was a country called Union of South Africa. A country made up of South Africa, Lesotho, Swaziland, and Namibia. It was dissolved and Namibia and South Africa are two prospering economies.

There was country called British commonwealth of India. Today it is India, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

There was a country called the Soviet Union. Today, it is over 15 prospering countries.

The reason Nigeria is one country is so that we can be easier exploited. By keeping us all in the same animal cage, we spend all our energy fighting each other and instead of three strong bulls, we have 3 battered and bruised sheep. Nigerians wake up.

Dear Sir,

If rule of law has any iota of respect left, you’d be the President at the moment .

Your cousin is doing is a great job at bringing sadness into the land. He’s instilling terror perfectly.

Buhari should respect the rule of law, be it in his favour or not!!!

And if he refuses, he's no different from the criminals!!!
