If only we had at least 10 clubs like this. The others should just loose their registration and we play league with only the ten of them. Aimple

if it was last season i would have agreed with all you said in your first paragraph but the KC i saw yesterday is quite agile now plus his pace has always been decent. however i agree with you that his best position is still as a support striker or in the hole behind the main attacker.

The wings will limit his goal scoring abilities

Rockyrascal:
the first formation is solid; but against a lowly ranked team. iheanacho cannot operate from the right wing as he doesn't have the speed, pace and also the quality of been agile.

This type of formation can do well if there is a switch to a 3:5:2 in the second half especially when a crucial goal is needed.

Leicester and Iheanacho….they’re magic, you know…

Date published: Sunday 8th December 2019 4:13

“I’ve got players with no ego, they really want to work and enjoy working,” said Brendan Rodgers in conversation with Jamie Carragher on Sky Sports. In front of them was an illustration of Leicester’s tactics with 11 very familiar names on the pitch. Kelechi Iheanacho’s name was missing because of course Kelechi Iheanacho’s name was missing; it had been a year since he had started a Premier League game.

The one question mark against Leicester’s status as Champions League contenders was a perceived lack of strength in depth. Eleven players had started at least 11 of their first 14 Premier League games (for context, Liverpool have nine and Manchester City six players who would fit that criteria) and the lazy assumption was that any injuries could derail their season. Rodgers was clearly reluctant to look outside an extremely well-drilled starting XI, so Dennis Praet, Demerai Gray and others have been restricted to bit-part roles.

Below that tier of fringe player was Iheanacho, who could only dream of playing a bit-part role. A week later, it still seems astonishing that his 28-minute match-winning cameo from the bench against Everton was his first Premier League appearance of the season. To wait that long, to be that marginalised and yet still have that kind of impact is a testimony to both player and manager. Of course, it helps if you are on an extraordinary winning run, but learning and listening and running hard all week is never easy when the weekend brings only personal disappointment.

“I was so pleased for him because there’s him and a number of other guys that don’t feature so much and sometimes they’re not even on the bench,” said Rodgers last week. “But that’s a result of how hard he works and he stays focused. He’s very much there for the team.”

Despite that impact, midweek and Watford took him back to the bench, with Rodgers offering no hint that he was preparing to pair Iheanacho with Jamie Vardy in the Premier League for the first time since October 2018. Leicester fans had long written off that partnership but at Villa they were nothing short of magnificent, with Iheanacho showing pace, aggression, accuracy and a lightness of touch that we had long forgotten.

Leicester’s opener sparked talk of Vardy chasing his own goalscoring record and the Aston Villa mistake of allowing the hamstrung Tyrone Mings to play on, but Iheanacho’s pin-point through ball deserves not to be discarded as a footnote. It was the 21st minute and that was already his fourth key pass of the game. Astonishingly, when he left the pitch after 63 minutes, he had not misplaced a single pass.

The fact that he scored again was a lovely bonus – and not just because four goals in four appearances this season is a neat statistic – but it was his intelligence that would have most impressed Rodgers. He played exactly like the rest of this Leicester side, as if he had been involved all along; he was purposeful, incisive and devastatingly effective.

One of the biggest doubts about this Leicester side has been removed; the Foxes do have another goalscoring striker in their ranks. And that goalscoring striker is bereft of ego but blessed with talent and knowledge about how this extraordinary team works. As Leicester look at a 14-point gap to fifth-placed Manchester United, they have added another reason to believe that Europe is beckoning again.

ibadan having the highest concentration of mad people is not something that will continue over time....

but you see alot of nigeria problems all started from colonial era
even the repressive and draconian nature of the police force all stems from the colonial era...
money laundering as well.... this subsequently follow the self rule that prevailed after....
try get PETER EKE (Colonialism and the two publics) it is an article...it takes about the civil and primordial culture.

many of this issue of illiteracy prevalent in the north is something that will linger on for a long time and will return hurt the nation and Nigeria at large...which it has already started. ....
my undergraduate thesis was on insecurity and going through the numerous research works It goes to reveal that illetracyis partly response for the upsurge of the bokoharam activities and religion fanaticism

many of the average northerners I will say this a milion time...are not ambitious especially when compared to the southerners....

try engage many in discussion as regard the current economy woes and you'll be surprised at their response..... many will tell you it is not the government's fault but the will of God....
little reason why they can be easily deceived.....
compare the quest for education and self improvement in each of the geopolitical regions and you marvel at your findings...

their preoccupation with the quest for political power have not gone to better the lives of majority of their people....

The desire to rule Nigeria is also ambition.

Before Oyinbo came, some parts of the North don dey read and write in Ajami.

Truth is you can never tell what he can do unless you try him in the position. My philosophy is there is more in everyone than they can see or ever imagine. Iheanacho needs to be stretched beyond his comfort zone. Its a good thing he is getting game time now.

history controls a large part of our future....especially historical loopholes that the people have refused to break away from....

for Ibadan... the government have been doing well building health care and the state OYO boast of the best hospital in the country for now...that's a giant step I believe can help curtail the highest concentration of mad people you mentioned

will ask you some random questions...your response I believe will be helpful.

when it comes to being ambitious...
for the northerners and their leaders which I see as the problem

will an ambitious person breed kids in large number in this 21st century? ??

will an ambitious state government's/elites encourage the breeding of kids in large numbers all because it gives them numerical strengths during elections

what priority is given to education in the northern region compare it with the priority given to same education in the south and tell me If they really wanna break way from this historical loopholes in years to come
and does it show being ambitious? ??

what is the focus being placed on self development and human capital development in the northern region
compare please with the south region and see if there is a likelihood there will break away from this loopholes in years to come

what is the priority given to free and compulsory education in the north
and what are the leaders doing as regard the free amajiri schools GEJ set up for them...

even awolowo vioced out in his manifesto in the 1979 elections.... that for the north he has just three things for them..

"education

education
education"

what steps have been taken to address the issue of illiteracy in the north and poverty as well over the years and in the future

what is the drive for the average northern to break away from this wicked and callous politicians and elites that have continued to keep them in misery and abject poverty
do they still worship them and attribute their wicked and corrupt rule as an act of God exonerating them of blames

the elites are not ambitous either for their people

What is your own definition of ambition?

Two players of Nigerian descent in the shape of Tosin Adarabioyo and Eberechi Eze have been named to the latest EFL Championship Team of the Week by respected football statistics website Whoscored following the conclusion of the matchday 20 fixtures on Sunday, December 8.

It's no surprise that Eze has made the ceremonial best eleven players in the division after bagging a brace for the Hoops as they registered a 2-0 win versus Preston North End.

As for Manchester City-owned central defender Adarabioyo, he was impressive as Blackburn Rovers won their fourth successive game, beating Derby County 1-0.

While Adarabioyo was deployed as one of the two central defenders in a 4-4-2 formation, Eze took up a place in his natural attacking midfield position.

The Queens Park Rangers number 10 registered a game-high four shots against Preston, with all of them on target, completed three dribbles and won two fouls against Preston.

Making his 11th league start of the season, Adarabioyo won five aerial duels, made a team-high six clearances, made two interceptions and one tackle vs Derby.

Eze had a rating of 8.7 out of ten marks and Adarabioyo got 7.8 for his efforts.

Ligue 1 giants Olympique Marseille have approached Dutch Eredivisie side Heerenveen over their Nigerian winger Chidera Ejuke in view of signing the 21 year old in the January transfer window, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

Ejuke has caught the eyes this season for Heerenveen, the team he joined in the summer from Norwegian side Valerenga where he spent two seasons. He has immediately proved himself to be a shrewd bargain with the way he has settled down to life at the Dutch side.

With six goals in 15 games, the winger who was also voted the U-21 player of the month in the Netherlands last month has shown that he has an eye for goal even though he is well known for his abilities to get past his markers with ease.

Marseille are reportedly willing to pay as high as €20m for the wing forward according to sources privy to the camp of the player and they have already sounded out Heerenveen. It is believed that the Dutch side will likely want to hold on to Ejuke until at least the summer of 2020.

Lille coach Christophe Galtier has insisted that Victor Osimhen will remain at the club when the January transfer window closes for business, amid speculation linking the striker with a move to Barcelona.

The Spanish champions have identified the Nigeria international as a possible replacement for the ageing Luis Suarez and have been monitoring his performances in France.

Since transferring to Lille, Osimhen has proved that his form last season for Sporting Charleroi was not a flash in the pan, with 11 goals in 21 games across all competitions.

On an international level, the Ultimate Strikers product has also established himself as one of the hottest African footballers, scoring four goals in his last four appearances for the Super Eagles and was recently nominated for the African Youth Player of the Year by the Confederation of African Football.

Asked if Osimhen will stay until the end of the season, Galtier told beIN SPORTS : '' Yes, I believe so. But in football, nothing is safe. I can confirm this with regard to the weeks that have just passed''.

Osimhen is expected to be on parade for Lille when they tackle Chelsea in their final Champions League group game on Tuesday night at Stamford Bridge.
