AndSunGorilla: Samuel Peter is a shadow of his former self. He is old now. Other Nigerian boxers to look out for, Lawrence Okolie, He will be challenging for the World Cruiserweight championship in his next fight. Andrew Omotunde Tabiti, another top Cruiserweight, lost his last fight for the world Cruiserweight title. Helped AJ prepare for Ruiz. Joe Joyce, his mum is an Igbo woman. He is a heavyweight. Unbeaten and was a top amateur. Efe Ajagba, Heavyweight, still a prospect. 7 Likes |

andrewbaba44: That's why I said more consistent. At least we can have more choices in defence. |

tbaba1234: Lawrence Okolie: cruiserweight with 14 fights and 14 wins, 0 draws and 0 losses. 11 of his 14 wins coming by way of KO He is big. 6'5 to be precise. I expect him to step up to the super heavyweight division in the next few years. If a 6'3 Oleksandar Usyk (cruiserweight champ from Ukraine) can do it, so can he. 1 Like |

Blueelf: Okolie is a big cruiserweight. He will eventually move up but he might not do so well in the heavyweight division. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Blueelf: 5:44pm On Dec 09, 2019 |
tbaba1234: Andrew Omotunde Tabiti Also a cruiserweight with 18 bouts to his credit: 17 wins, 1 loss and 0 draws. 13 of those 17 wins came by way of KO. He 6'0 in height. His loss to Yuniel Dorticos (for the vacant IBF cruiserweight title) came by way of KO in the 10th round. Hopefully, he bounces back better and stronger |

Blueelf: His size helps him a lot in the Cruiserweight division. He is usually bigger than his opponents. When he moves up, He will face guys that are bigger than him or around the same size. I do not think his skill level is that great yet. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by darkelf: 5:52pm On Dec 09, 2019 |
tbaba1234: You have a point. But the truth is, few boxers at heavyweight like AJ, Fury and Oleksandar Usyk have skill level. The majority are just pure brawlers and heart (with granite chin) Know of Izu Ugonoh? Was disappointed with his loss to Dominic brazeale. Izu had him on the ropes and rushed for the KO but Dominic withstood all his punches and poor Izu ran out of gas and got KO'ed in the 4th round (I think) |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by tbaba1234: 5:59pm On Dec 09, 2019 |
darkelf: Well, it takes skill to brawl. Okolie has some skill too but he will need to develop more to compete with heavyweights. I remember that fight, very entertaining. Izu rushed in and got himself KOed. I think he is a good fighter. He has gone under the radar since that loss. |

tbaba1234: In heavyweight boxing the right punch will get you knocked out. This is why nobody can truly dominate the division. |

BascoVanVeli: True, but a fighter can be dominant even if he takes losses Lennox Lewis was dominant , beat all comers. And beat everyone that beat him. |
