The guy is direct with good work rate. We don't hype him here because him no dey dance with ball cheesy cheesy cheesy
TheSuperNerd:
Nna eh.... Was not online for this but I am glad for Moses Simon's consistency abeg. Even EA Sports have since taken notice and released a special player boost card in Simon's name for FIFA 20 Christmas edition alongside others still incoming. Lad is on fire...

So Paul Ebere Onuachu scored again.... Well that makes it 6 league goals in 13 league appearances. Just one behind David Okereke of Club Brugges on 7.

Well, I may not fancy him as Osimhen's backup but he is still doing enough to stay in the conversation. Good one for the lad.

Yes, I agree. He may not be as skillful or as overly creative as Samuel Kalu all round but Simon's direct style and super workrate is what the doctor ordered for Nantes. He is excelling in Ligue 1 coz the coach is utilising him very superbly and playing to his biggest strengths. His pace, workrate and direct running.

Simon must be celebrated Biko. Statistically and performances-wise, one of our best wingers in Europe this season so far.

Okay who u go replace them with that is close to the world standard?
komekn:
For the SE to compete on the world stage and be taken seriously will require exceptional quality.

We know the standards required and we have to make comparative analysis with a world quality standard in mind.

These players simply are nowhere near the standard. Although Awaziem is technically astute and intelligent but he has no pace. And Collins has very little end product.

A fullback with no pace is a liability and a full back with no end product is a joker.

Essentially what Dessers is saying here is that he doesn't see any chance of him competing with Belgium's current generation of forwards. So I don't actually get it when we use the words, "patriotic pride". The boy knows where has a better opportunity, and he fancies it all the same.

charlesemeka85:
this boy get sense wella! i am beginning to like him grin

The Heracles Almelo hotshot has confessed that he never considered playing for Belgium as it would have been impossible to break into Roberto Martinez’s squad.

Dessers earlier revealed his desire to play for Nigeria – his mother’s place of birth – at international level rather than his country of birth Belgium.

That public declaration by the country’s top football body ignited the patriotic pride in the Dutch Eredivisie’s top goalscorer, a player who was named the league’s November Player of the Month after scoring six goals and producing three assists.

“I think it is a huge honour that they (NFF) have contacted me and communicated to the outside world,” Dessers was quoted by Voetbal Belgie to have told TC/Tubantia.

“Belgium has never been a serious option, that’s why I don’t skip between the two countries. The Belgian team has the best generation ever, with top strikers like Lukaku, Batshuayi and Mertens. Boys my own age, who will play as long as I do. I have no illusions. ”

“I’ve never been to Nigeria. My grandfather and grandmother are from (Nigeria), my mother was born in Europe. When I look in the mirror, I see half a Nigerian every day. I also have characteristics of an African.”

Dessers has produced 11 goals and 5 assists in 16 matches for Heracles and will look to add to his tally when Frank Wormuth’s men face off with sixth-placed Utrecht on Sunday.

Work rate, good final balls and goal scoring are the qualities required to excel in modern day football.

I have seen all this in his game previously which is the sole reason Rohr prefers him most especially when the team is facing a more quality and attacking opposition. He puts on good shift while the team is defending and decent attacking.

Alot of coaches of nowadays doesn't joke with players of his attributes and he is a kind of player Jose mourinho will die for which is also the same reason Rohr can't do without him.

Kalu really need to sit up with another winger like Ejike waiting on the corner. If he is not performing in a team as Bordeaux I wonder where else he will excel

We lack appreciation of the norms and values with expected behaviour and etiquette that reflects European football as well as the EPL.

The kid right from time embraced the truth and is working hard to fullfil his dream of playing for 9ja which he admit that it won't be an easy feat making the 9ja team but still begging for a chance.

Even if he scores tons of goals in the colors of Heracles he may end up just making the Belgian team to friendly games with few caps and minutes to boast of.

With 9ja he has the chance of making the afcon and world cup team if he continues with his good form. Also moving to any of sporting Lisbon, Cagliari and club brugge who re interested in having him will enhance his chances the more in the super eagles

He is scoring and assisting for fun but many in Nigeria football circle won't take him serious because of the stature of the club he is currently playing for.

I believe by next summer he will earn a big move to any of the big teams in the eirdivisie or bigger leagues in europe

And Danielnino00, I just found out that the referee awarded a freekick to Leicester for that foul on Nacho. It was Maddison who kicked it out for a goal kick. So you see that the freekick was indeed given. I didn't take notice during the game because this Nacho-Norwich thing was taking all the attention. This shows the goal would have stood had Nacho scored.

Fact is, Ricardo should have just thrown the ball towards an opponent as usually will be done and not to Nacho who thought it was a cue to play on. Norwich were leading amd trying to take advantage of the situation. Nacho was only showing Winners' mentality in trying to get Leicester on the scoreboad.

The Norwich players acted like kids and It is still a shock to me how none of them was sent off for harassing Nacho in that manner especially that Cantwell who obviously went for Nacho's neck. He escaped with a yellow instead. Funny people.

Na Rodgers I just dey look. He better not destroy the confidence Nacho has toiled his ass off to build up till this point. Nacho is a "confidence" player and Rodgers should have known better. He acted very silly with that sub move and it ended up costing him as Leicester failed to win.

Would he has taken off a Maddison or a Vardy if any if those two were mixed up in such like Nacho? Selah.

Anyway, I hope Nacho shows more fire following this incident and put it behind him. Funny how a good section of the biased English Media wanna label Nacho some kind of scapegoat. Hypocrites!

lol it's funny using the word "illusion". But you know some players can dream BIGGER, and there is nothing wrong with that either only say dem fit miss road in the process. But even at this point, Cyriel knows that he would have a better career with Nigeria. And take note that he said he sees a half Nigerian in the mirror. He didn't say he feels more Nigerian.. He is just honest about his feelings. Reminds me of Akpoguma who just said things as it is. that if he doesn't get a chance with Germany, he would play for Nigeria. No Maradona things.

Spot on all you have said. Nothing to really add but this:

If Chidera Ejuke keeps it up, he may step in later in future and challenge those two (Kalu and Simon) as he has Kalu's creativity and dribbling wizardry plus Simon's workrate, final balls and goal scoring. Additionally, Ejuke is very fast.
Ejuke is a player who may just make the LW role his down the line but time will tell.

Yea Akpoguma said the same with regards of keeping his options open.

To this regard I think the English born players are the ones who live in illusion the most if not I see no reason a young player like tomori with the depth England boast of in the central defence position will still insist on sticking to the team knowing fully well that his chances to make the team to any tournament re tiny not even slim.

Tammy's case is different because aside Kane and Rashford(who is mainly deployed to the flanks) he is the next performing English striker in the epl.

I must confess I was shock when tomori decided to play for the 3lions instead of the super eagles where he will immediately be slotted in as one of the 2 starting CBs

Ejuke is also prolific in front of goal when he has the chance. His finishing is top notch, u can go to YouTube to see them for yourself.

Kalu doesn't score and create much but very good dribbler. Even when they were at Gent Simon had better stats than him

Another kid to watch out for in the future

Nigerian starlet Tariq Uwakwe returned to Chelsea's U23s matchday squad on Saturday, December 14, almost four months since he suffered an injury.

In a Premier League 2 tie vs Liverpool, head coach Andrew Myers made his first change of the afternoon at half-time, bringing on the versatile midfielder to replace Jonathan Russell.

Prior to today's match at Liverpool's Academy Ground in Merseyside, Uwakwe's last appearance for the Blues youth teams came against Tottenham Hotspur on August 30, meaning he didn't dress for Chelsea for 106 days.

The 20-year-old missed seven Premier League 2 games and a further three in the EFL Trophy.

Uwakwe looked lively after coming off the bench and was involved in the build-up to Henry Lawrence's goal in the 76th minute.

The England U19 international picked up a loose ball following Uwakwe’s cleared cross and riffled it into the top corner of the net.

London-born Uwakwe inked a new contract with Chelsea in the off-season and is now contracted to the Stamford Bridge outfit until the end of the 2021-2022 season

Sunday Super Eagles/Naija players Euro Action to look forward to: Heavily Action packed

Using Naija time, we have....

12:30pm- First off, our fullback extraordinaire, Ola Aina will likely be in action for Torino away at Verona either from the start or off the bench.

13:00pm- Following couple of mins later, Super Eagles No 10, Joe Aribo will be doing it for Rangers against Motherwell away from home in the SPL. He would attempt to lock their mother in a well grin

13:00pm- As about the same time, Former Rangers man, Umar Sadiq will seek to continue his super lethal form for FK Partizan away at Radnik in the Serbian Super LIGA.

Lots of away games for our boys today it seems.

15:00pm- Another away gane involvement will see The Prince of Alexandria, Alexander Iwobi, go up for Everton against Manchester Utd at the theatre of dreams, old Trafford.

15:00pm- In Italy, another Super Eagles stalwart, William Troost Ekong will battle it out for Udinese away from home against the might of CR7 and Juventus. What a game for Ekong after impressing against Napoli last time out. (Charlesemeka85 and Andrewbaba44, be warned. If Udinese "chop" goal(s), I no wan hear anything grin And if Udinese no chop goal(s), I still no wan hear anything from una... grin )

15:00pm- Also at this time in France, Josh Maja da strika and the Dazzling Samuel Kalu will see their team play a home game against Strasbourg. A team that features the most tucked in player on the planet in SA's Lebo Mothiba. Let us see if Maja can get Strasbourg properly tucked into a box of woes. grin

Maja is likely to start. Kalu is likely to be on the bench again. Time will tell.

15:00pm- Kingsley Michael likely to see action for Cremonese in serie B vs Perugia (former club of a darling SE ex-star, Christian Obodo).

16:45pm- In the land of Johan Cryuff, the Netherlands, Cyriel Dessers will look to consolidate on his rave ratings as he will be doing the business for Heracles Almelo upfront against his former side, FC Utrecht. Promises to be one interesting Eredivisie encounter for Dessers. A return to a former home.

17:00pm- Peter Olayinka will look to score his fifth league goal or bag his fourth league assist as he and Slavia Prague take on Dynamo CB in a home game in the land of Pavel Nedved.

17:30pm- Mesmerising Bukayo Saka in Jersey "double 07" grin will look to bury Man City in a home EPL fixture today for the glory of the Gunners. Arsenal vs Man City is gonna be one game you don't wanna miss especially with Saka likely to take part.

18:00pm- In the Belgian Jupiler, Club Brugges take on Mechelen in an attempt to consolidate their league lead. Okereke David and Emma Bonaventure Dennis are more than likely to be involved. The New Aubameyang, Okereke and the stumbling dancing winger, Dennis will look to take the tyres out of Mechelen's wheels. grin Make it a date.

18:30pm- In Spain at this time, who else but the most Dazzling young winger on the African continent today. wink It's another big game for Nigeria's Robben Reloaded, Samuel Chukwueze as he and his Villarreal teammates will slug it out with a tough Sevilla side brimming with fine talents indeed. Samu Chuks is likely to start in this big encounter or at worst make the bench with a view to being unleashed later on by Calleja.

21:00pm- At this time in the Italian Serie B again, another Nigerian player albeit an out of favor fringe in Simy Nwankwo will look at increase on his league tally of 8 goals and 2 assists as his side, Crotone take on Salernitana away from home.

These and a couple others I may not have listed will be in action across Europe and make for a juicily engaging Sunday of Football involving several of our Nigerian stars and players. Make it a date with at least one. wink Happy Sunday Y'all

In fact, Rodgers would have laced up his gloves and entered the pitch for an amateur boxing match

I once said it that I don't think Nacho is fully appreciated at Leicester. If Nacho had continued that game, I foresaw a penalty awarded for a foul on him in the eighteen yard box because of the animosity the Norwich players would have had towards him

Well, I could cook up a well documented detailed dossier including stats report on the dude but time.... Time na another thing.

Anyway, you just gotta know that Luke Ayodele Amos was born in Hertfordshire, England and has turned out for the England U-18s as far back as in 2015. Those games were friendlies so he won't need any nationality switch if we were to fo for him right now.

His best position is DM although he has been deployed as a left back too. He can also play CM. Yes, you guessed it... He is a left footed player standing at a decent height of 1.79m (5 ft 10.5 inches or so).

Let me drop this extract from Tottenham's website on the lad... Hope it helps further. I have emboldened the major info.

From Tottenham Hotspurs:
Industrious central midfielder Luke Amos is a product of our Academy system.

After starring for our first team during our summer 2018 USA tour, he made his Premier League debut on the opening day of the 2018/19 campaign at Newcastle United, but his season was cut short just a few weeks later as he picked up a knee injury in his third appearance of the campaign for our Under-23s in the Premier League 2 at Blackburn Rovers.

After working hard to regain his fitness, he joined Championship side Queens Park Rangers on loan in July, 2019, for the 2019/20 season.

Born in Welwyn Garden City, Luke has occasionally been deployed as a full-back as well as in his more recognised deep-lying central midfield berth.

He made 12 appearances for our Under-18s in 2013/14.

During the 2014/15 season he helped us beat Benfica to lift the Premier League Under-18 Champions Cup in September, 2014, and was also part of the side that secured IMG Cup success in Florida in December, 2014.
Domestically, he scored three goals in 20 league appearances for the Under-18s in 2014/15, started all six of our FA Youth Cup ties and appeared four times for us at Under-21 level - starting once and going on as a substitute on three occasions. That campaign also saw Luke make his debut for England Under-18s.

He subsequently made 18 league appearances for our Under-21s over the course of the 2015/16 season and started all four of our games in the Premier League Under-21 International Cup, scoring in a 3-1 win over German side FC Schalke 04 in November, 2015.

He played for our first team during the summer friendly programme in 2016 and was named on the bench in a competitive game for the first time in October, 2016, during an EFL Cup fourth round trip to Liverpool.

He joined Southend United on loan in January, 2017, for his first taste of senior competitive football, making three appearances in League One throughout the remainder of the 2016/17 campaign. He also started 14 games for our Under-23s in the Premier League 2 during that season, many of them as captain.

After 15 starts across all competitions for our Under-23s in the opening months of the 2017/18 season, including two against senior sides in the Checkatrade Trophy, plus two appearances on our first team bench, he joined League Two Stevenage on loan in January, 2018, and scored twice in 16 games for the Hertfordshire club as they finished 16th in their division at the end of that campaign.

TheSuperNerd:

Hypocrites!
The fact is if Iheanacho had scored the goal would have stood.

I know it was quite unprofessional to act that way but there is no football rule that says u must return the ball to ur opponent under such a circumstance. It is a subjective decision that lies in the head of the player in possession of the ball to take.

Who can remember how Egypt equalized against Nigeria at the 2017 AFCON qualifiers played in Kaduna. One of our defenders got injured and Ikeme threw the ball to throwing and the Egyptians took advantage of that throw and scored.

So yes that was unprofessional from Iheanacho but there is no standing rule concerning that.
