Aina starts. Game kicking off now.

Joe Aribo also starts. And it seems Gerrard is doing something strange today with Aribo. Playing hin further forward in a front 3? I will have to confirm this...

Umar Sadiq also starts for Partizan.

Na so he talk, but doesn’t mean it’s true

BascoVanVeli:

It was a tactical decision. Rodgers wanted to revert to the 4-3-3 with a winger instead of a second striker

Lille Coach Reveals Designated Penalty Taker After Osimhen's On-Field Debate With Ikone

Lille coach Christophe Galtier has confirmed that Victor Osimhen is the designated penalty taker of the club after the Nigeria international was involved in an on-field debate with Jonathan Ikone during the first half of the Ligue 1 tie against Montpellier on Friday night.

Five minutes before half-time, Ikone stepped up to convert a spot-kick won by Osimhen, which did not please captain Jose Fonte and manager Galtier as they wanted the rule to be applied.

Speaking to reporters post-match, Galtier explained :

''I saw what happened and I'm going to talk about it with the players.

''In the last match against Brest, Victor gave Jonathan (Bamba) the chance to shoot, it was a gift.

''This is something I am going to intervene on because there were far too many people around the ball, it can confuse the taker at some point.''

Brazilian winger Luiz Araújo would have liked to take the 89th penalty kick missed by Osimhen against Montpellier and Galtier has revealed that the Nigerian is number one in the hierarchy of spot-kick takers.

He added: ''So now is there going to be a fourth, a fifth, or even a sixth taker? Victor remains the number one penalty taker''.

Osimhen netted the winner from the spot in Lille's 1-0 victory against Dijon on November 30.

And Danielnino00, I just found out that the referee awarded a freekick to Leicester for that foul on Nacho. It was Maddison who kicked it out for a goal kick. So you see that the freekick was indeed given. I didn't take notice during the game because this Nacho-Norwich thing was taking all the attention. This shows the goal would have stood had Nacho scored.

Fact is, Ricardo should have just thrown the ball towards an opponent as usually will be done and not to Nacho who thought it was a cue to play on. Norwich were leading amd trying to take advantage of the situation. Nacho was only showing Winners' mentality in trying to get Leicester on the scoreboad.

The Norwich players acted like kids and It is still a shock to me how none of them was sent off for harassing Nacho in that manner especially that Cantwell who obviously went for Nacho's neck. He escaped with a yellow instead. Funny people.

Na Rodgers I just dey look. He better not destroy the confidence Nacho has toiled his ass off to build up till this point. Nacho is a "confidence" player and Rodgers should have known better. He acted very silly with that sub move and it ended up costing him as Leicester failed to win.

Would he has taken off a Maddison or a Vardy if any if those two were mixed up in such like Nacho? Selah.

Anyway, I hope Nacho shows more fire following this incident and put it behind him. Funny how a good section of the biased English Media wanna label Nacho some kind of scapegoat. Hypocrites!
erm ..oga ..I no watch the match yesterday. But do you mind sharing the the incident here? thanks

safarigirl:
the truth is, when your team is down by a goal, the natural thing is to want to level scores by any means necessary. That is what a natural forward would do instinctively.

If CR7's team was down by a goal and half the opposition team's players were on the field, you think he would stop play if he was right on his way to goal, irrespective of professionalism? Or if it was Ramos, would he stop the game?

In football, greatness is not always earned by following ethics. Each player has the right to determine the kind of player they want to be, and not everyone wants to be Messi or Lewandoski. Some players are more like CR7, Ramos, Costa, Suarez, Ibrahimovic. They are willing to be the villains, as long as they get that win.

If refree doesn't stop the game, you owe nobody a thing. Since Egypt played us dirty like that and nothing happened, then there is no standing rule. No be Kelechi hack anybody down

Here Egypt was one goal down. Obaobona fell down injured and Ikeme kicked the ball out for a throw-in only for Egypt to capitalize on it, our defense switched off and Salah scored!

I think Ndidi is too intelligent to have made such a big gaff. So l don't think the possibility exists that Ndidi would be substituted.

But if Ndidi had done that I could easily imagine Rogers substituting him.

Anybody who does that puts the Manager in a very compromising position. And gives him no other option but to take the player off.
.Are u trying to say nacho is unintelligent for his action? You've been mastubating on this issue and I'll advice u to take a walk.

He has not been receiving the plaudits his performances have merited so far this season, but Wilfred Ndidi is the best defensive midfielder in the world, according to stats.
When compared with the best defensive midfielders in the Sport, Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has no equal in the world.
The former Genk star has been one of the standout performers for the Foxes, scoring two goals and claiming two Man of the Match awards in 15 league appearances this term.
Brendan Rodgers men have racked up 12 wins in just 16 games to sit second on the Premier League table with the 22-year-old Nigerian playing a key role in that run.
Boasting the best defensive record in the top flight, Leicester City have shot up the table to sit six points above champions Man City and eight points behind league leaders Liverpool.
According to stats made available on
Whoscored.com , Ndidi has earned a higher rating than all the other defensive midfielders in the world at the moment.
It is noteworthy that these stats are constantly changing, but as at December 14, 2019, Ndidi’s rating of 7.62 betters those of the PSG’s of
Idrissa Gueye (7.55) and Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Partey (7.09). Real Madrid’s Casemiro (7.55) and Manchester City’s Rodri (7.39) complete the world’s top five.
Ndidi has been equally inspirational for the Super Eagles, having played a crucial role in helping Gernot Rohr’s men remain unbeaten in the six matches played since losing an AFCON semifinal tie against Algeria back in July.

Olarenwaju Kayode is also in action today and in fact right now as I type this. His side, Gazisehir Gaziantep leads 1-0 in a Turkish Super Lig game.

And yes, he was the assist provider. 3 goals and 4 assists for him now in the league.

To put it bluntly Maddison would not be so plainly stupid to do what KC has done.

And even with that's an assumption based on bias. Not surprisingly anywhere KC is mentioned we always have a double standard and naked bias for him..

I have watched the clip of what KC did it's simply dishonourable and entirely reprehensible there is absolutely no excuse.

Rogers did the right thing and now KC has covered himself in disrepute.

Many may not understand the conventions of football and what he did is just not done. He was supposed to throw the ball back to Norwich. The played the ball out because players were injured. And then at the restart He tried to take advantage unfairly. ITS REALLY REALLY NOT GOOD. There is no way to cover it up.

He needs to find away to apologise.

I have said severally...I wonder why some peeps here take you serious....

You're not a super eagles fan....
You're a fan of 3Lions

You're obviously here for business sake...trying to pass across those players who are deemed not good enough for the 3Lions down our throat.....

You are trying to help them get super eagles call ups so as to boast their careers.....

Komekn... I just dey look u
