JESUS did not ask us to observe Christmas. The New Testament church did not observe Christmas.

Always help and be with the poor. Don't have a special day to be charitable or observe charity.

Of course they know, but they had to suit Christianity with pagan worship and holidays to attract more followers or how else would Christianity have grown till today!

Just because Jesus didn't ask us to celebrate it doesn't make it a gang holiday. December 25th was the day the Romans worshipped their Sun god so the church elders at that time sat down to deliberate the issue and decided to fix the birth of Christ at that time . The birth of Christ is the best thing to ever happen to mankind and u say we should not celebrate the birth of the king of kings who came to save us u must be joking ,. Did Christ ask u to attend the church u currently are or did Christ ask u to post nonsense on Nairaland ? Its like a good thing overtaking evil ,.... The celebration of the birth of the prince of peace overtaking pagan celebration .

You are so right, most Christian today don't even celebrate Jesus on that that day or go to church and some Mumu parents who claim to be Christians take their kids to meet Santa Claus ( Father Christmas) which has absolutely nothing to do with the birth of Christ or Christianity.

I actually blame the Roman church leaders who fixed Christmas in line with the worship of the sun god and tree god(Christmas tree) to attract more followers not knowing that it will lead to half baked Christians in the long run.

DON'T CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS

Christmas is not a pagan holiday. The spirit of Christmas is a commemoration of the birth of Jesus birth. It has been celebrated so for centuries past and has become part of our history.

The fact that Christians turned a pagan holiday to worship God does not make it in anyway associated with pagan worship. it's simple, turn a bad situation to a good one.

Anyway, the spirit of Christmas imbibes love, joy, giving and celebration, we spend most of the year in stress and doing plenty work. What makes it wrong to pick one month in the 12 calendar month to celebrate our own holiday as Christians.

Fanatics will keep coming up with exaggerated reasons not to be happy. Well today is the day that I celebrate the good news of Christ coming to the earth and for giving us hope for salvation. I was born with the knowledge of a Christian Christmas, I never knew of any pagan worship. You went to the past and got answers from the past, it doesn't change the fact that the future is different.

Change is constant, so please accept the old new culture of the Christian Christmas holiday.

Merry Christmas and a happy New year in advance.
