Dont forget to look at the premium you are paying for the bond.

Discouraging but what can we do nau. TB 5%, Bond 8%, fixed deposit 4%. So i rather go with bond because TB rate will crash more.

Fixed deposit rate in some banks is now 0.5% for 30 days. Imagine an interest of N1,900 on N5m+. God help us o.
This is very disappointing if true. My institution still offer lucrative rates.

5.5% for 364 days. We are done for now..lol. Anyways, I did secondary market with FBN 3 days ago and only got 4.9% for 324 days. Guess primary market is not much better.

Tbills rates crash to enable me find opportunities in real estate investment.
My investment at i-invest is maturing tomorrow from where i may choose to reinvest since their rate is still within 7-8%.

Inflation is at 11.85%, buying tbills for 6% is just useless. Apart from the stanbic dollar fund, I’m also thinking of opening a union bank domiciliary account that gives interest. Anyone that has info on it?

I agree fully...let's task our brain a little.
Agreed that we all want our capital preserved but getting 5% per annum is too ridiculous. I could as well buy recharge card or cement and turn it over several times in a year... Let's look at other businesses, and leave this tbills alone abeg...
Look at stocks, a four month time frame will give u 14% minimum if you stick with zenith, gtb or uba as they will all pay dividend..
Inflation rate is high guys, devaluation risk also staring at us, get creative...
Shalom..

We keep complaining often and often forgetting that about 90% of problems faced in this country is caused by us.
How on Earth will someone with hard earned money subscribe for tb of 5% for 364 days. I'm just imagining it.
Someone should tell me what will make CBN to reverse this rate when millions of people are ready to subscribe as low as 2% for 365 days.
I will either dump my money in dorm. account or buy plots at different locations and wait for it to appreciate while relaxing my brain than going into useless investment that will always get me upset.

I wonder why people still invest with that ridiculous rates.

Even with the 10% sef it doesnt looks too nice for me to lock down my money.

if they get the 30 bn dollars they want to borrow they might not .....if they save 10 bn dollars yearly import bill for petrol naira might gain or remain stable ...right now is 50/50.....so spread your risk
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by SATX: 12:43pm On Dec 19, 2019
Nigeria now has a -6 return on Tbills with the current rate and inflation rate which is the lowest in the world not considering devaluation which am thinking should happen within a year or two . Would rather put my money in 2.84 percent my credit union here is offering. Or anyone interested could look into South Africa. They have an NRA (non resident account) with which you can buy their government securities. Bye bye to naija for now

Visited access bank today ( I had locked in fixed deposits earliers at 8%, 6.5% & 5.5% at different intervals ranging from 30 to 60 day tenors with the aim of waiting to see what first quarter 2020 holds)

The above rates were gotten within the past one month or so.

To my surprise, access bank fixed deposit was quoted at 0.02 today (i want to believe my account officer was joking)

Tbills at 5%

Advice from the Bank : why don’t you consider HIDA with the following returns credited to your account monthly as long as you don’t make more than 3 transactions on the account in a month.

Sorry to take us back, this una matter tire me oh.
I live in Kubwa Arab road where u can get more than 24hours electricity and the two bedroom I live is highly comfortable for me and my family of two, compared to the one I lived in earlier, water is constant, light is steadier, close to the major express road, prepaid is running smoothly and in all of this,I pay just N650k.
I prefer to remain a tenant for another five(4) years before I would move to my personal house.
For those saying we need 40k per day to live a comfortably, I say no no no to that because living well is a relative term which could mean sleeping around and spending recklessly and for me,might be living according to my set goals.
However, I want to use this opportunity to beg all the big guys in this house to pls, desist from calling humongous figures like the one above, reason being that we have people who are earning far less than this figures and continuous use of this supposed figures send a bad signal to smaller investors amongst us.
All fingers are not equal...na beg I de beg una.

ojesymsym:
Oga, if you followed the discussion, you will see that I was saying the exact same thing you are saying. Peace.

STOP BEING ENTITLED.
What do both of you mean by saying others should desist from calling humongous figures?

Anthony Joshua was paid 30bn for last fight. Consider what will be his personally. How much do Messi, Neymar , Mayweather etc earn?

Zuckerberg earns 10.2m every minute. Yes, 10.2 million every single freaking minute.

Yet people mention a few funds here, and you are inditing this, shouting.

These are existential realities. People live these fantasies.

NOTE NOW that there will always be richer people, more intelligent, handsome, sexier etc people.

It's like a ladder, some are at the top, some below.

You become frustrated when you look only at those at the top.

Look below the ladder and see those whose combined income are less than 30k monthly.
Some are happier genuinely.
