I love your generous spirit, but you may want to listen to everybody’s story before you decide on who you want to share the limited APLs to.

I may look unsympathetic, but there are some stories that never faze me even when it looks like the subjects of the stories have gone through a lot. The greatest challenge anyone can ever face is health issues, and I mean serious chronic health issues. Anyone saying how he has suffered due to no finance but he still has good health is still in luxury as far as I am concerned. I have been an accident victim that left me in different teaching hospitals in Nigeria and abroad for a combined duration of over 6 months and over 3 years to recuperate, and having done over 10 major surgeries with each taking over 8 hours. Those months, feeding, bathing, taking me to the toilet and cleaning me up was done by my mother. Of course, my girlfriend who I was supposed to marry ran away. I lost my job that paid me about 200k monthly. Up till this moment, man is still single, because my present hustling is basically a survival job. All my mates are married with kids. I even still have some mild physical deformities I struggle with everyday, and the medical aspect of the NNPC recruitment scares me even if I get APL. But I’m cool, and I have accepted that life cannot always be what we want. During my hospital admission days, I wished I was even an uneducated almajiri person with no degree but with good health. I admired anyone who walked by with his 2 feet and 2 hands, complete and functional. But the funny thing is that while I was on admission, I even saw worse cases in my wards that made my own look like a joke. There was a guy that had 2 legs amputated above the knee, and he pooped on the bed. There was another guy who had his hand about to be amputated and the other hand had serious fractures. A boy had snake bite and got his hand amputated.

All I’m saying is that financial issues only become a thing to deeply worry yourself about when you don’t have a deep understanding of life. That’s why when people come here praying for APL like their whole life depends on it, I laugh! There are other blessings in life you already have that you are taking for granted. On your spare time, take a trip to the A & E of any government hospital. If I had done this before my accident, I wouldn’t have complained about life like I foolishly did that time even with a 200k salary. You don’t have to be like me before you understand life. Take that trip now.
U r indeed a strong fellow...
More grace to scale through life...
I honestly wish u APL...

What I have is in Bayelsa and it would be most suited for someone with whose background is Electrical (at least engineering). It gives the person opportunity to make very little earning and, IMPORTANTLY, get some on-field experience.

Thanks 4 sharing ur story though. However, who suffer pass or suffering is never a competition. And because ur suffered something like that doesnt mean u shouldnt show empathy towards somebody that had just a scratch on his leg... dont let what you go through make u lose ur empathy. Just a question. Is it advisable as a man, to get married and give birth to kids with no steady source of income?

Depend on the lady, some ladies r parasite n can frustrate a man while the rare ones has the spirit of Contentment...

My pastor married immediately after nysc with no steady income today he is blessed

My frd married with little or no income today he works with interswitch...

Leave the type of lady out of this .I believe a man should plan his life first before getting married .Parasitic or no parasitic lady,if a man fails to plan before marriage, he may likely fail as a man in the marriage...

Hmmmmm, the words here are very touching and inspiring ... In all, let's appreciate the gift of life...My prayer is that God will elevate us to the height that we desire...
NNPC or not, all we want is a better and comfortable life...
I remember d secretary of my panel saying by September the list will be out, plus all the info from different sources here, which has made us perplexed as to the exact situation of this recruitment...
I will advice us all to learn a skill, focus on whatsoever you have at hand and believe in God...
Special thanks to all those who gave info , because it kept us pushing on...I am not giving up on this whole process but I want to free my mind from all these and focus...
When the list is out, our phone will alert us....
I wish us all the best...thanks

Let me chip in some thoughts.

I think social media has really amplified life challenges to be “peculiar” to Nigeria. I smile whenever I see people discussing issues or any challenge and the I hear Nigeria has “failed” us.

Yes, Nigeria is struggling as we have had mixture of good and terrible leaders in between but life happens to everyone irrespective of the country or wherever you are.

Now back to the issue of jobs, the government cannot provide job for over 50m employable Youths. Even the private sector cannot provide that much job in a developing nation. Even a country as developed like US or Canada has millions of Artisans. If you have anyone in these countries, ask them the kind of jobs that’s scattered around. You see plumbers, mechanics, capernters, welders, painters and the likes but ask our Youth to go gain soft skills to make ends meet and you start hearing all sort. The ignorance/arrogance that they are too big for these kind of jobs is alarming.

If you attended Public Varsity in Nigeria, you have no moral right to say “Nigeria hasn’t done anything for me”. Nigeria public university is the cheapest in the world. It’s funny how those we schooled in Ife and paid around 15k per session which is about $50, come out and still lambast the government that gave them “almost free” tertiary education. Go calculate how much Engr, Medicine, Law, Accounting and the likes cost in these foreign universities and you will see Nigeria education is 97% subsidized.

I once read a thread on Twitter where some people in the US were lamenting how they are stuck with student loan they took while pursuing their degree. Imagine owing $120,000 to get a degree, after 7 years of constant monthly repayment you are still owing about $130k. grin Most of you finished University debt free, be grateful to the nation that made it possible. Nigeria has not done anything for you, what have you done for Nigeria?

There are a lot of people going through life challenges everywhere. May we find comfort in every aspect of our life.

Programming and Dissertation writing service. My experience on fiverr has been awesome but there is a little twist to it.

Frankly, it isn't easy to get clients when you are a beginner on that platform and have no review coz u av alot of competitors. What worked for me is that I leaverage on my network of frds to kick start my freelancing career.

During my Msc programme in the US, I had about 4 frds I assisted on their coursework. After my first job with them, I pleaded with them to create an account on fiverr.com and invite me for further jobs which they all did. Tho it may sound stupid to some cos I was loosing a few bucks to fiverr but I was building my profile via positive reviews from these guys.

Here is my advise. Let's take for example you run a dissertation writing service, u can start by calling some of your frds pursuing their Bsc or Msc degrees in the US, UK, Canada etc to find out how they are coping with the rigours of the programme. You will be surprised some of them don't even have the time to study cos they have to work to complete their fees. You can help them bridge that gap by helping them with their coursework and this doesn't come cheap. A 4000 to 5000 words coursework depending on the difficulty can range from around $200 to 500 ( either fixed or hourly at $10 to ...$).

To write a dissertation can range from minimum $2000 upwards coz of the demands of these foreign Universities (coz the research work has to be novel and plagiarism free).

In conclusion, Network, build capacity, and more importantly u have to work the talk.

Firstly, there are countries with standard education and almost zero fees. Does Nigeria gives you chance to even collect loan to save life let alone school? Have you ever wondered y people struggle to pay the so-called "15k naira" , while some other countries struggle to pay "20k dollars"?

Nigeria sinks everyday into abyss of decadence. China and Brazil are Nigeria's contemporaries. They are not there yet but they are neck and shoulder above Nigeria.

Someone told me that some years ago, late Bola Ige went to UI. When he was about to deliver his speech, he kept looking towards his left hand side. He looked for about 5 minutes. When he turned to face the audience, tears were rolling down his cheeks. He cried because he was looking at a particular hostel where he stayed as a student. He saw students scampering for everything. If you were like Bola who saw Nigeria in her glory, saying she has failed would have been the least you would say.

Society was not designed for graduate to be selling puff puff, or doing weldering (even if they bring billions). Most people you will find in those endeavours in those other countries are not graduates.

If I had belong to a country called "Dunderia", chances are I would have gone to school. That Nigeria provides animalistic education system doesn't make her worthy.

In Abraham Maslow's generally accepted"need theory". The basic thing that every human being supposed to have are water, food, clothing, clean air, health etc. A country is not supposed to exist if she can't provide these. Nigeria is an aberration.

How many countries in the world provide free “tertiary” education?

Education is expensive anywhere in the world but Nigeria made it affordable for a lot of people. Appreciate that. It’s an open secret that we have infrastructure deficit that must be tackled. No one is denying that.

Nigeria provides animalistic Education yen yen yen but most still use this same degree to pursue masters even Ph.d abroad and those schools still accept those degrees.

Society was not designed for everyone to be a graduate. Thousands or even millions of graduates are doing this kind of jobs (plumbing, welding n the likes). It is the arrogance I’m talking about that makes you think once you are a graduate, you are not cut for those kind of work anymore.

When you finally get the chance to travel out of the country, maybe your view on this will change.

Finally, what have you done for Nigeria?

Regardless of how you spin it. Graduates are not even trained to be a "Plumber". Yes, one can learn it, but what's the need of going through the school education, spending about 5years, then end up being a " Plumber"? A "plumber" you'll still spend about a year or 2 to learn, before you become one.

Abeg, if they want us to be "Plumbers" they should make school beyond reach of us commoners.

In many European countries, textiary education is free. And we are talking about quality education here.

In Germany, for instance, many textiary institutions institutions offer free education to both citizens and non citizens alike.

It's mostly in CAPITALIST America where people have to pay through their noses for university education.

So what is the motive of being wealthy?
Imagine a lady u want to marry telling u... She loves you because you are wealthy (have money)...
Will you marry her?

Someone like you might eventually get married to a rich guy,
Life might just want to reveal ur motive by allowing your rich husband steady Job to cease...
I know ur next move...
You will run away or start having exmarital affair just to sustain ur reputation...

Wealth is good but if ur motive is money... U r on a faulty foundation

@ first bolded Even you have confirmed it and so shall it be!

Second sentence won't happen because we won't be morons.. Sustainable investments must be made and God won't allow it go down the drain..
@ second bolded , u don't know me or wat my reaction will be if such a thing happens to which I know will not. U are actually saying how YOU would react if u happen to be in my shoes. You can't analyze and summarize someone based on assumptions , it's actually ur ",if it had been me" reaction that u just spilled.
These ur evil imaginations should stop. Allow positivity possess u for once!

Good night

Regardless of how you spin it. Graduates are not even trained to be a "Plumber". Yes, one can learn it, but what's the need of going through the school education, spending about 5years, then end up being a " Plumber"? A "plumber" you'll still spend about a year or 2 to learn, before you become one.

Abeg, if they want us to be "Plumbers" they should make school beyond reach of us commoners.

Maybe we need to start looking at why everyone must be a graduate.

There’s nothing wrong in being an Artisan. There are lots of artisans that make more money than those in the corporate world.

South Africa that a lot of people use as a yardstick in Africa has a 29% unemployment rate with a 50m population compared to Nigeria with about 200m with a 23.1 unemployment rate (Which is still unacceptably high).

The corporate world in Nigeria cannot absorb the number of graduates our tertiary institutions churn out every year.

If they make schools beyond the reach of commoners, you will still complain.
