northern farmers you mean?
If he is serious about farmers let him enforce 10℅ cassava inclusion in Nigeria, that will be less controversial, easier to implement and have far bigger multiplier effect than this rice issue
And if it is about Nigeria he should close the border against fuel importation and save us $10m annually
Buhari is just using Nigerians head,he has no strategy to move the nation forward everything is gragra

southern farmers are also happy.. ask poultry farmers around you... 10% inclussion of cassava in flour failed woefully during Goattlucks time but now many cassava refinery are coming on stream like the one akeredolu is completing and the one Makinde is proposing to make better use of cassava

without a physical wall you cant man northern borders as sub saharan desert and feilds are easily accessed by hiking or use of bikes.. its not the customs alone but northerners and topography geopardising the efforts.. unlike southwestern borders that are roads in the middle of tropical forest

How has it benefited you personally?

Pls do not open. This is one of the thing this government has done that has made sense to me. So keep it locked up.
Re: No Date Yet For Border Reopening – FG by inforesource: 8:50pm On Dec 23, 2019
My dear, all I will say is that you should go and do thorough information search on what was going on in our borders which we were calling business. I have traveled this entire country and I can tell you that it is now someone has really taken a decision on our so call borders. I do not want to be sentimental about this at all. My stance on this does not invalidate my stance with GMB's inability to govern this Nation. If he continues to amend his ways, then he may win my heart.

This is my position.

Suffering and smiling people. Have you ever hear any reasonable steps the government is taking since the border closure? Abi the one they promise you on 2015. Are you checking them? How many is done now?

The same useless government will open the border and nothing will happen, are we not in Nigeria again?

Back then when the whole world turned their back on Nigeria, closing their borders because of General Sanni Abacha after US sanctioned us we didnt die.. we ate white corn as rice, we used sawdust for cooking when kerosine and gas werent coming in, we wore native on christmas and we rode in Peaguet 504 and 505 from Kaduna plant, when Cocacola and pepsi were'nt affordable limca and lolly came with cold ice waters

With all this you must be 40 by now but if you are not married you need to visit that church that the pastor use to walk on air

Why won’t South Africa, Ghana , Malaysia not like this? Are nigerians not the ones suffering from escalating food prices and hyper inflation? Didn’t you see the woman that jumped a fence to go steal a bag of rice? grin

Rice and not all food prices increased which was expected because of the reduced supply from the smugglers and now have to higher tariff at our port so what's the big deal? If you can't afford foreign rice, buy local and if you can't afford that too, there are alternatives in the market

What steps do you want the FG to take again? The FG wants to reduce poverty among farmers especially in the rural area and you're complaining, those especially in the fish, poultry and rice sectors are begging the FG not to reopen the border and you're complaining.

The policy will end and nothing will happen.. Just like many FG policies.

The only known policy working in Nigeria is known to order then taxation, fuel increase. Anything price increase....

The border closure will come and go without result. By the way why the Northern border is functioning, only South is close?

Relocating to the village will not bring progress rather than taking me backward. For the future and education for my kids, I really want to struggle and work hard in the city. You can read my other posts by clicking on my username here you will see the reason why I have been running around thanks for the suggestion but believe me going back to my own village will be the end of me securing good future for my kids other than us becoming village based people. I just need job from my effort luck and connection might come from nowhere.
