Hello NLs, I am an HND graduate who intends to emigrate to a better country.
I am considering Canada, Germany, and the USA ( I was told Canada doesn't recognize HND +if I'm to start BSc again Age would disqualify me, I was Told USA recognizes it after WES EVALUATION but the possibility of getting a Visa is low since I don't have any travel history) so I considered Germany.
I searched through DAAD from a link I Saw here
i got a reply from the University in Amberg, Germany.
I intend to Study International Business, it's completely taught in English (and it's tuition free) according to the email I received, while studying in my first year I must learn German at a studientkur(I can't spell it) it's a German language school up to B2 level. Then in the 3rd year of study i must learn 2 additional languages (1 from Europe 1 Asia) or 2 European languages.
That's not my question tho, I intend to apply for Winter Intake (Oct ) so I'd be applying in May. I have my proof of Funds ready.

My question is, if I get the admission after applying in May, is it possible to get my Visa by September so I can settle down b4 resumption.

Already I have An HND in Business Administration and Management which I informed the school.

Please I need your sincere replies to this question.

Choiii... U literally just scatter my dreams and aspirations with this post.

I was hoping I could get into the country via an MSc, take the opportunity to develop sufficient German proficiency before applying and securing admission into Medicine. But the uncertainty now is just on another level going by this information

This can work for you since you never go far in the medicine already. But i don't know again about this german waka. Im tired of clinging to this pathway for medics. If at this stage embassy is doing work visa applicants 8months appointment, then I don't know. I will definitely get German kpali someday grin but for now...all roads lead to the nhs

That waiting time is just frightening to say the least. I would have finished PhD in a Biomedical course before they consider me. If I can't secure the funding for other European countries, then na Nigerian Education again o.

Well alot depends on how fast you get AL from your choice of University. If you you're able to get it secured by June and apply immediately to the consulate. You might be fortunate enough to get AD somewhere in July /August or so depending on how busy the consulate is. Only then do you stand a chance of getting VISA in hand in September. You need alot to go in your favour.
Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 7 by NairaLuck: 10:01pm On Dec 26, 2019
Wow, thanks for the reply.
For those in Germany, is Amberg and Weiden a favourable place for study-work option plus is it Race friendly? ie low racism in comparison to other cities
The school has two campuses stated above (in Bavaria)

Well... He isn't the first person advising that I get the MBBS in any other European country, giving how competitive the German process is. I know a guy who studied and is currently practicing In Germany now, his kid sis has the same ambitions as I am with just about the same background (i.e a good BSc in Nigeria). But she's studying in Ukraine now to save time. I mean one would think she'll just pack her bags to Germany and hustle it out while staying with her brother. But the matter truly tie wrapper hence the need for a shortcut via Ukraine. But thanks for the encouragement I'll keep all options alive for as long as possible while I think about it.

Hello everyone,
Please I have questions regarding this German waka and I will appreciate your answers to it.

Please your suggestions are welcome. Thank you very much.

Hi Gold234,

Can a Nigerian Mom going for Master's program travel with her child?
If yes, how much is she expected to have in her blocked account for herself and her child?

Yes, she can. As for the amount required, there is no information to give at this moment, but more research would be done about it. Hopefully, someone who has done it before can share their experience.

If the visa is approved and granted, will the German Government permit the mom to enroll her child in a German school over there?

Yes, you would be permitted. It's even a selling point for universities, as they have special nursery or kindergartens for children of students operated by the Studentenwerk. So, it's important you check with your proposed school. For example, some Studentenwerk offer free meals for children in the university cafeterias. Your school's Studienberatung or Studentenwerk would be able to give more info about the financial assistance you may be entitled to and how to apply for it.

If your child is at least six or seven years old, you need to enrol them in a primary or secondary school. Eduation is compulsory at that level and most children in Germany attend state schools which are free. They might just have issues with the language and certain municipality have centres to deal with this (especially since the rise in refugees from the middle east). There are mother groups on Facebook that discuss such issues, especially wives/partners of expats who aren't German speakers.

Can the mom cope with the pressure of studying, working and taking care of the little child over there?

This is dependent on your resilience and determination to succeed. Also, your course of study and decision to work while there. It's not impossible, but you have to be strong and make decisions accordingly. Child care is important in Germany and you might not readily find people who would share the same communal values as your home country. So, make a plan, speak to your school, join mothers group for expats in your proposed city and its all going to turn out fine.

Best wishes

From what I've gathered here, getting a Germany visa is just like Canada, very competitive (i stand to be corrected)

My question is, is germany advisable for someone who would be running his msc program and hustling at the same time?

Please I need the materials......And best center where I could register for the exam.

sassy92:
IELTS is 68k with MOD and 75k with British Council, there is no difference between the 2 except MOD is mostly paper based while BC offers computer based.
PM me and I'll send you the link to the materials I used

Bro.. Language can't be self taught, especially a language like german, it has many rules that must be followed, this you might not know while self-studying, the best thing is to either have a tutor or attend a language class.

It is when you attempt the exam at Goethe you will understand all this.

What was the reply you got from the school? We need to know because it's a common knowledge that hnd can only give you admission only if you're going for Bsc.

How fast you settle in depends on when you get your admission letter from the school and when you get a visa interview appointment.
