...and more volatile. I was reading some of Sir Emmanuel's past stocks analysis this past week and how he held some stocks for many years as a long term investor. But looking at the NSE of today, is it still possible to hold any stock for a lifetime or as long as 10-20 years?

It depends on growth of the business and if the business is selling at the its intrinsic value or below it.

The most important thing is to buy right,. most of the stocks bought during the banking and insurance consolidation exercise in 2006 werd sold at overvalued prices hence investors lost money.

Nigerian banks like uba, zenith, gtb are good for long term.
Nestle too has stood the test of time.

The bolded is so true.
Meanwhile, for some of us who seem to be late to this party, do you consider the current value of Nestlé's shares as being overpriced?
Will you advise an investor who specializes in long-term investment to buy it as is?
Which of the following stocks would you advise one to buy now: PZ, Unilever, Nestlé and DANGSUGAR? Kindly arrange in order of your preference, starting with your most preferred.

Thank you.

For short term play PZ is okay at the current price, but the chartists can tell us what the chart is saying.

Dangote Sugar should give you a dividend yield of 10% in the next 40 months.

The third quarter financials of Unilever is not encouraging.

Why don't you look at the direction of the banks, building materials, food and beverages, agricultural sectors

Thanks for your input, sir. In my opinion, I think Nestle is now overpriced. I have UBA but waiting for good entry points for Zenith and GTBank. I hope they become available at a bargain price soon.

Thank you so much sir.

Which of the companies that specialize in the bolded would you recommend?

Also, is it a good time to buy Nestlé shares?

I don't know how long you have been buying shares, I won't advise a starter to start with Nestle shares.

It is a defensive stock, some people invest their stock market loot in real estate, Treasury Bills and defensive stocks like Nestle for safety and diversification.

Zenith can still do 17.80 intraday. So watch that space.

Just as GTB did 28 intraday.

Fidelity can still do 1.96 intraday.

UACN monthly kumo is too thick to cut through in just one rise. So it will need to make several lows sef. The rise you see now (in UACN) is nothing but a trap. You will learn it later.

Once it falls below 7, just use TA to know the right price to buy.

Quite inspiring sir, thanks for sharing. Can you please give a list of some of the stocks you've had for more than 12 years?. Your dad must be heavily invested in Nestle - it is the stock of papas/mamas dem no b 4 boys like me...lol. By the way, were you referring to Rak Unity that currently sits at 30kobo? That stock seems to be dead. Abi? How much did you buy it 29 years ago? Trying to learn from elders here.

Yes sir, is about 15% but the good thing for the resident of canada is, when filling for the income tax, one may claim it on the basis of household low income. But for non resident, I really do not no what may happen

I don't think there is minimum.

Your dividends are credited to your trading account.

You decide whether to withdraw or trade with same.
