They will soon realize that all what their Church founders are interested in is how to gather them and collect money from them.
Whatever is en vogue is what this useless Pastors teach them since their followers aren't interested in the TRUTH but what is generally acceptable.
Forbidding
©Alcoholic beverages
©Makeup and Jewelries for women
©Covering of women's hairs
©Ritual Fasting
©Seasonal Festivities
And so on is what their so called Pastors are contemplating on to form rules for them.
Now that Christmas celebration is gradually dying due to the persistence of Jehovah's Witnesses in declaring it PAGAN, many of their Pastors who have been frontiers in the celebration of Birthdays are now trying to dodge from the shame!
Well the TRUTH still remains that they can't prove anything is wrong with Christmas (Celebrating the BIRTH of Jesus) if they are still celebrating their own Birthdays. Whatever is good for the goose is equally good for the ganda.
That is where the FLAWS in whatever they've got to say against Christmas awaits them! wink

My sister gave birth na so the husband refuse naming ceremony because they are Jehovah witness..

I keep telling people that religion is different from tradition.
The rate at which People are brainwashed these days is alarming. I fear for this generation..

Who fixed the date? The Catholic Church did. The same they did for easter and Sunday service.

Funny how you people condemn the catholic church practices but jump on their fixed date of celebrations in christianity.

it is not an 'open secret'. before christianity came to igbo land, they have always new yam festivals. if the church come to that place, convert the people and then on the day they do their new yam festival, it fixes a day to celebrate the body and blood of jesus, or the transfiguration of the lord, what's wrong with that?
I just wonder. we just like to complicate things.

christians see him as authoritative

There is nothing to connect you (none Israelites) with Jesus! Jesus' main objective is for the lost sheep of the house of Israel! Matthew 10:6,15:24

That's why he(Jesus) personally commissioned another Apostle "Paul" to be the 13th and last Apostle purposely to connect people of other nations to himself! Act 9:15 compared to Galatians 2:7, 1Timothy 2:7

So there is no way you can practice any form of worship that's acceptable before Jesus if you don't bow fully to the teachings of the SPECIAL Apostle chosen by Jesus himself to connect you! smiley

The Controversy on Christmas, December 25th as Jesus' Birthday: Our Position and Clarification, By MFM

With reference to the varied reactions that have been trailing the message of our General Overseer (Worldwide), Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), Dr. Daniel Olukoya, on the celebration of December 25th as Christmas in celebration of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, during the church's weekly Manna Water service on Dec. 25, 2019, we make the following clarifications...

Though the foundation of Christmas is idolatry and God hates idolatry with perfect hatred, we will not throw away the baby and the bath water.
We do not condemn those who celebrate.
Jesus is born in us at MFM every day. His death is our birth certificate.

We will bring out the positive out of the negatives by using all holidays for prayers, conferences seminars, and activities.

We will hold seminars, conventions, camp meetings or special teaching services to pray, examine the scriptures and draw positives from the wrong, negative and idolatry practices of the two events: Easter and Christmas.

We will hold special meetings to re-teach, re-emphasize and reappraise the significance of Jesus' birth, death, cross, and resurrection.

ON DECEMBER AND THE SHEPHERDS
Strange but true! Remember those shepherds who were “keeping watch over their flocks by night”? (Luke 2:cool. December weather around Bethlehem is often miserably cold, wet and rainy. No shepherd in his right mind would have kept his flocks outside at night at that time of year!
The passage argues against the December 25th birth of Jesus Christ since the weather would not have permitted shepherds to be out in the fields with their flocks then.

Also, Luke 2:1-4 tells us that Jesus was born in Bethlehem because his parents came to that town to register in a Roman census.
The Romans were well known as highly efficient administrators. It would have made no sense to have conducted a census in the dead of winter when temperatures often dropped below freezing and traveling was difficult due to poor road conditions. Taking a census under such conditions would have been pointless.

The Bible nowhere tells us to observe a holiday celebrating Jesus Christ’s birth —but it clearly does tell us to do ‘communion’ in remembrance of him.

Great content! but just Christmas is not in the bible so is the word MFM. The truth is there is nothing wrong celebrating Christmas any day provided you know exactly what you are celebrating. If Christians all over the world come together to celebrate Christmas on the Amadioha was defeated in my village, there is no wrong at all. No day was marked in the bible as Jesus birthday, hence we are free to choose a date. Some say Christmas celebration is not in the bible but I also say bible never instructed us not to celebrate Christmas on 25 or anyday. Thanks

Following this flawed logic,
Did Jesus celebrate his death day?
He wasnt alive to celebrate it.
His disciples did.

Did Jesus Celebrate his birthday?
Only extremely rich people celebrate birthdays
And both heavens and earth celebrated the day he was born.

I dont see the fuss about all these things
After giving thanks, he broke [the loaf] and said: ‘This means my body which is in your behalf. Keep doing this in remembrance of me.’”—1 CORINTHIANS 11:24. So he actually celebrated his death before asking his disciples to keep celebrating it.For his birthday he never mentioned it to his disciples. So why do Christian chose to celebrate it? I guess you should search for the origin of Chrismass.
