blueAgent:I don't understand the argument ..are the coaches suppose to win without spending? No coach win anything without money or it would be a fluke ....one season wonder or some luck CONTE bought Alonso and Rudiger .... Reason Conte quit Juve then was lack of money to sign players SOMETIMES if a team have good players the coach may not spend much like Conte at Chelsea he didn't spend much because he has players he wanted ..Costa , Terry, Cahill , Matic , Fabregas, Hazard.. but he bought Kante , Rudiger , Alonso etc ..so Conte spend too but not much Sarri spent too ..he bought this Kepa , Jorginho , Palmieri ...but would you say those teams were very good .No.. .they were not... When Pep took over at Barca he had players in the youth team be believes can do well and they did...Pique was a reject from ManU , he began to play him along with Puyol... At Bayern, he didn't need to spend much But at City , the team were old because previous coaches bought old or matured players .. Yaya was getting Old, Sagna, Clichy , Kompany etc were old and can't run ..he has to let them go away ..and get new guys ...any coach would have done same ...infact , ManU have spent as much as Pep but are playing in Europa league ..yet lousy Manu fans are silent .. More importantly, the owners of these clubs are not complaining .. me I Wish my Chelsea would buy Neymar, Koulibay , Bonucci etc so we have strong defence .. When JM was coach of Chelsea he outspend everyone in his first 2 seasons...until City were bought by Arabs in 2008 and they started to buy players .. Most small teams are where they are because they don't have money to buy players ....and when they have good players big teams come to buy from them Big teams don't have luxury of time, they want to win every time so they have to spend ...PSG, Barca RM etc . 1 Like |

blueAgent:Klopp can't manage very established teams like Barca because Klopp don't like the pressure to win on first season or very quickly.he wants to take his time to build ...So RM, Juve , Barca and even Bayern won't suit him. Liverpool gave him time ..No big club would have tolerated Klopp for 4 years to win one cup ....they won't ...he too won't like the pressure from day one .... Coaches like JM , Pep can withstand pressure that but not Klopp Pep can groom players too but he hasn't been at a small club to do that ....but he has been at youth team in Barca ..so he can do it just that the big clubs are always after him.....it's just how it is and they want result quickly...he has no choice ... |

blueAgent:FYI, Conte and Sarri won two and one title(s) respectively during their time and how long did they stay? Look at the crop of players dey had at the time. Millions on "defenders"? Matip was free, Robbo was for 8m, Arnold from the academy, he met Lovren and Gomez so I don't get where the "spent millions on defenders" came from. Conte had a John Terry, Fabregas, Diego Costa, Alvaro Morata, David Luiz, Hazard and co. Sarri also inherited most of these players. Everybody knows Chelsea aren't patient with their managers so there is little or no room for error. Now look at the players Klopp inherited and only a little over a handful of those players would even make it in today's team but in that 4years that he's stayed, he's won how many trophies? blueAgent:Okay Mr teacher. Let me return the favor. In 2015(which wasn't his first full season) he took Liverpool to the Europa league final and a league cup final even with the crop of mediocre players at his disposal granted he didn't win it. Glad u know that Pep in his first season with the likes of Kun ,Yaya, Kompany and co(mind u, these guys won the trophy b4 he came) didn't win anything. sammhi:I wonder why guys are claiming that Klopp is better than Pep when they acknowledge that every coach need to spend in order to win? The Hallmark of a good Coach is to use his first season to understand his players and the league and to find areas that need improvement, by there 2nd season they are expected to do better. Mourinho did it in his 2nd stint at Chelsea when he brought Costa and fabragas in his 2nd season, Pep also did it and won the league in his 2nd season. Only klopp takes 3yrs to turn his team into winning team. |

Jokerman:This is my point all along ....Pep has little choice when he came over to City ..he had to buy. JM spend much money at ManU but that didn't even bring success. What I even like about Pep is that he bought very young guys none is more than 24years .... When he came to City , he told them their academy set up is not good ..it won't produce very good players... I also like how he set his team to play ...it is more of collective work ...a not so good player appear very good under Pep ..imagine using Delph as LB for a whole season ...He brought up the idea of a false 9 using Messi ... Pep can quickly turn things around ..Klopp Can't. It took Klopp 5 years to win first title with Dortmund ..he said that's what he likes to do ...big clubs with money won't give him that luxury |
