Exactly my question!. Huge expenditure to fully operationalize this humongous building and whatever activities it is gonna be used for.

Solar ke, Solar ni. Don't you think the solar installations needed to power this monster will cost as much as the building?. Was the location really a wise choice?
why are you bothered about another man's building site or expenditures?
which kind wahala be this?

The tiny agrarian village of Umuchukwu formerly known as Nkerehi in Orumba South Local Government Area in Anambra is a dot in the map. It has a population of about 3000 people but it has the tallest building in Igbo land.

The building which is a 15 storey build skyscraper built to modern standard by Dr. Godwin Maduka an indigene of the village and a medical doctor who is the Chief Executive Officer and Medical Director of Las Vegas Pain Institute and Medical Centre, said to be the largest pain treatment centre in Nevada United State of America.

With the completion of the building, Umuchukwu village will also be host to the biggest Medical research facility in Africa domiciled in this building.
''Biggest medical research facility in Africa'' wink wink Good investment but must you exaggerate Congrats though

How many generators will he use to power this building? And will it be properly utilized? An ordinary 3 storey commercial building in a city finds it hard to get clients to rent space and this man just built a skyscraper inside a village! Can't help but see political undertones in this building. BTW, many Nkerehi people have not accepted that name change to Umuchukwu .

the builfing is not up for rent,it is a MEDICAL RESEARCH FACILITY,an ultramodern one at that.

A building of 15 storey cannot be qualified as a skyscraper.

That facility will not be financially viable for average Nigerian national.

Unless they expect wealthy Nigerians domiciled in Lagos/Abuja to leave foreign Hospitals for a one in Anambra State grin

I laugh in Ebonyi dialect
If he attracts quality foreign doctors and the research facility is well equipped and I guess it will be getting international aids, then people can go to that place you call remote. John's Hopkins hospital, the main the main is located in a very bad place in Baltimore, a crime ridden area that they have to have their own police.yet people come all over the world to it. They are not moving instead buying more run down neighboring houses and expanding. World leaders both from in and out swallow their pride and come down to the poor people abode to be seen and treated.

good God, I enjoy every bit of this thread. some Igbo guys are savages relegating their own brothers in Ebonyi to a nobody just because of their ego and superiority complex. perhaps their migration from the north, a sworn enemy of the whole region could be a factor.

I served with bunch of Igbo guys, 2 from Enugu, 2 from Abia, 4 from Anambra and the last 2 from Ebonyi.

I observed what already happened on this thread. the other Igbo guys sort of backlisted the Ebonyi guys for being naive and unexposed in a subtle and joking way but we all bond together at palmie and beer parlour joints.

I also observed the two Ebonyi guys skin colour. they are totally dark. like those Kenyans' dark (maybe I exaggerate a little) but this people dark like Mohammed that just came from Bauchi. I must add they have this strange "ching chung" language the other Igbo guys didn't understand. only kenneth and James speaks that language and the will just fumed and left their place whenever they started the language.

Back to the real topic, the building is an edifice worth lauding. you might not get the value for it now, but posterity surely will when properly equipped and managed.

If you are wondering which region or state I am from, your guess is as good as mine.

If you are wondering

Please help me tell him if he's visiting, he should get private security.

Kidnappers are on the prowl in the Southeast. They detest to see any sign of progress and well being. They've destroyed the socio-economy of the area.

The people he is sending money to can even arrange for his kidnapp. It's a dog eat dog situation.

See this one crying like a goat lol

Biko what's the difference between you and someone from abakaleke? Is it not same people with aboki mindset?

The truth you have to face always is that Ebonyi people are inferior igbos, they are at the same level educationally with states like Zamfara, Yobe etc

In terms of human capital, Ebonyi people are among the poorest in Nigeria. Aboki and Ebonyi people are of the same class. That is just the truth.

That you managed to get western education, you could even be the only one in your whole community with such knowledge.

Ebonyi should focus more on education and human capital development.

And as for you young man. Take your time and go through the thread from the beginning and observe that your people are the cause of this trash.

I have said it that Ebonyi should learn how to avoid any anambra thread if they can't bear to start unnecessary comparison. Let them avoid anything anambra thread and this impasse will end. It is not compulsory they will comment..

It has happened many times. They should learn to control themselves or avoid threads concerning Anambra state. For Christ sake both doesn't share any boundary or strong cultural ties for all these, Not at all.

How can I argue with someone answering myopic. Never you quote me again pls. 2019 is coming to an end. Go and sit down and ask yourself one or two questions if not go and argue with your keyboard.

The discrimination and segregation that is prevalent among the Igbos is mind-boggling.

I have some friends from Anambra who see Igbos from Ebonyi, Imo and Enugu as third rate Igbos. They always make a condescending reference to Igbos from those states and it's very disheartening.

We are all freeborns from God. You guys should stop this nonsense. Having a notoriety for being shopkeepers does not make you superior to others.

Medical research centre may want to be closer to the jungle rather than the city and someone with a futuristic idea like that should have thought of utilising the endless sun energy to power the place.

Someone told me he was asked by a Hausa trader who recently relocated to Onitsha how the federal government managed to build high-rise buildings at Onitsha. The Igbo man simply told him all residential high-rise buildings are privately owned. Federal Government does not own anyone.

The Hausa man was simply amazed!
