This thread is just filled with selfish, narcissistic, insensitive money mongers. I mean even though 2.9 surge is what the market is and is really not your fault but couldn't you at least show empathy? For a trip of 2900 someone ended up paying 8700 because of low supply of cars at that moment is that not heart breaking? Paying 300% of the cost of a service ?You yourself can you pay that without grudge? She felt like crying and that gladdens your heart? And to top it off you gave someone that just paid you 8700 for a trip of N2900 one star because you FELT she was going to give you one star! All we care for is about money in this country that we have forgotten how to be human.

Sorry bros, I can tell you have vex. We can do better I guess, but part of the problem in dis business have always been inferior complex and the sick society we've find ourselves. Mind; I have a problem wit him giving her 1 star, even if she gave him same, he is not even sure if she did, but he has done sometin within his jurisdiction and I have no right to pass my judgement, I can only say is not fair. I remember telling my lecturer, why can't lecturers and student reason and get along, rather than feeling they are both at war with each other, them feeling students r lazy and students feeling they are intentionally wicked... Same goes to drivers and riders, I don't know if I have same inferior complex too, but I don't have to pay for what I have no power over, we r all out to make profits, who made the rules that price must be 2900, if d price is low, drivers have the right to boycott the app and same apply for the riders, but channelling the frustration on me, will obviously meet same fate, unless I'm in spirit filled mode. I really praise those that took out time on Xmas (which I belong, didn't eat rice or chicken dat day) and yesterday to work, its a great sacrifice not to put up with your family and friends and yet we think money is enough to measure up for the moments and time money can't buy. That's not fair boss, if all drivers choose not to work yesterday, some ppl we b willing to pay double dat amount just to get to their destination, so its a relative situation which she have options and I see no reason why anyone have to live off emotions on dis.

Still soaking up on the lady I ask to get off d car last year 22nd on a 1.4 surge, going to Maryland mall from Eric moore. Her attitude was just a no no for me... Got to her street, called her and she was still arguing with me I'm not dia, got confused and ask if they have 2 of same name in that area, took us almost 1 min to settle that and she didn't even apologize, just cut the phone on me, I waited for another 7 mins for her to come out, as I heard a knock on d passenger door, here comes a lady with a revealing big reap hmmm half packed refusing to enter d car with "Oga is ur A/C working, if not...?", I don't even know how to answer such question. She entered and say " We have to go to any tailor shop first " me; ohk ma, do you have any in mind? No, you will look for one around... I just shake my head, madam come down unless you won go Yomi casual. Riders need to understand what we r providing is service and they r not buying drivers off, dose "why" questions r needless.

Mayorhy you are just an ignorant fool for writing that jackshit.

Is it the driver that gave her the price?
Didnt she see the fare estimate before accepting?
Wont uber take out thier 25% from the fare?
I can go on and on.

When danfo drivers that normally charge 100naira from obalende to yaba decides to charge 300naira on the same trip?

If all the drivers decided to go on xmas break do you think the "yellow cab" will have mercy on you?
Do you know the kind of attitude drivers face everyday.

Yes, some drivers are full of sh*t but not all.

Lemme stop here cos I don dey vex, no let me find you.

Remember this scenario I posted some few weeks back

So I picked her up (elderly woman) started the trip it was ikota shopping complex. Mummy said shes going to gtb. Na so I carry her. Waited outside for like 30mins till she finish. It was a return trip, on our way back we did like 7stops. (Market, store etc.) Come and see me loading Cway inside booth, I carry vegetables, tomatoes, groundnut oil, tailor, etc.

After almost 3hrs we reach her house. Mummy said end trip? I knew it will still take me like 10mins to offload the items to her house cos nobody dey house.

Trip was 1800 God why? I didn't flinch I just continued. Thinking mummy will give a good tip based on our discussions.

Las las, she gave me 1650naira. Cos I didn't have change for 200naira.

Till date, I wont lie she killed something in me, which is showing compassion to riders.

I really don't care anymore. I wont be rude I'm still professional with a 4.80 ratings.

If you (rider) is polite, I will be polite. But if you show small sign of craze. I WILL TAKE YOU TO HELL AND BRING YOU BACK.

I understand your pain... the extra charges can be very painful. At the same time, If drivers decided to share their daily ordeal from fiders on this forum, you will pity drivers and new bees may even be discourage to go into e-hailing. Having said that, someone shared experience of how a rider left him in a dead state. Which is worst,? 8,900 or near death state? If you perceive very well this days, the driver/rider relationship atmosphere is not encouraging but hopefully, invincible hand will adjust that. Also, note that a real business man is seems like "money mongers" atimes. Nobody is perfect, we are just trying to.... Compliment of the season guys.

Guy shut your mouth. You're condemning the same very thing you are. The uber rider's app does not have PG so most riders know what they are getting into.

Did you bother to show empathy towards the driver? He/she is out there servicing customers in this festive period that is better spent with loved ones and you are ranting.

BTW, what are you doing on a thread filled with narcissistic, selfish and insensitive money mongers? Are you trying to be one?

Please guys should leave that madam/oga (mayo thy) alone jor he/she is speaking out of ignorance which I’m sure h/s would be saying “who ask me to comment now?” right now.

It is well.

Please guys, if Uber/bolt blocks one permanently and unjustly and you’re absolutely sure you didn’t nothing wrong what can such a person do to get an account to get back into the system? Especially on Uber.

I asking mainly for someone who has been blocked by Uber for almost a year now. As at when he was blocked he went to their office and all wa told was that his iPhone 5 wasn’t a recommended phone for the app to work properly and this was the same phone he was told was ok b4 going ahead to purchase the phone.

So what can such person do legally to get back into the system?

Experience answers and reasonable suggestions please. I believe a lot of guys are also having similar problem so let’s threat this as important thanks guys.
My ogas in the house pls let’s look into this matter or isn’t it important to discuss?

Can one open another account with Uber maybe after they block the first account? Because I know it’s just email address they identify and then bank account which they pay to

Yes it is very possible so far you don't stop the trip and start again at every stop.

As for me, this year, you ask me to stop over I tell you we stop and start again. If you not too good with that, we end the trip there. Nothing like you will take me to a a place and bring me back. I let you know immediately you say that that we are doing 2 trips then. The second may even be offline so far you are not sure if you can get me back for the second try.

Stop over by passenger is a way they cheat us but it appears most drivers are not aware of this.

There is nothing wrong in stopovers. The only step I apply is knowing how long we are staying. If it's going to be long or too long, I tell you I need to be somewhere

If I need to pick my clothes at the dry cleaners, and them buy a drug at a pharmacy, and then pick a colleague before going to my destination, does it make sense to always end and start and end again? No naa

Just enquire how long you will be waiting. If it's not convenient for you, then you can end it

Even if the rider agrees to stopping the trip at every stopover, it might result to block becuase it will look like a fraud; in a way to generate multiple trips from a single trip.

Yes yes yes that true.

So the only way people with permanently block account can get an account is either they change their name on their driver’s license in their next renewal or better still open and account with a close friend or relative then use the share ride option available on the app with you photograph on it. I doubt if the 2nd option will out well because of the name on that drivers license.

So best option is to have a change of name on your drivers license then get a fresh account with the new name simple.

He may try and get new phone as advised and go to their office physically to appeal the blocking.

Even if succeeds in getting another DL with new name, and still uses same phone, it is a matter time when he will get blocked again.

Good morning guys... Please how far with Ocar at Lagos.... Drivers seem to be unhappy with their operations here in Abuja. The fares are way too bad, like they are scamming people. Did a 38mins drive this morning with an initial price of 1200+, after a 14mins pickup drive, just cos I wanted to use it to get out of the estate, only to end trip and saw 501.

That is very bad...
