Hello house kindly assist, is there any Accountant in house that picked Manitoba as a province and used NOC 1111(Financial Accountant and Auditors). When creating the profile for the MPNP, there was a field that asked if the profession was a regulated profession. My question is if I am to pick either Yes or No in that field. I am currently on 560 out of 1000 if I pick No but if I pick Yes I will be on 660 out of 1000. Any Chartered Accountant in the house should kindly advice before I submit and create the profile.

Is there any pre-arrival program that may be helpful for Doctors? (I came across PASS for Nurses).
Most of the info (regarding pathways for Doctors) on this thread are from 2017. I have also read from other threads of the challenges of getting back into practice even after Passing the Exams (due to limited Residency slots for IMGs).
Please kindly assist with practical advice based on your experiences (and those of others you know).
Information regarding alternative careers one can explore will also be appreciated.

Thanks to everyone who have contributed meaningfully on this subject. It has really helped me on this PR journey. So I am in a dilemma and I need anybody to please provide relevant clarification. While waiting to receive PPR, I recently got a new job which pays much better than my old job. Was not expecting PPR anytime soon but as God would have it, PPR came on Dec 24, 2019. The plan was to do a soft landing around August 2020, return to naija, work till mid-2021 (to make more money) and leave permanently to Canada in 2021.

However, I was reading about PR status and landing on the Canadian website and I see a part that says that one must stay for a period of 730days in the last five years to maintain one’s PR status. Just to clarify, can I stay outside Canada after soft landing for a period of 6months to 1 year? Yes.

Would this affect my PR status? If you eventually meet the residency requirement, no.

Please I would appreciate your advice on this issue.

The next sentence on their website answers your question: "These 730 days don’t need to be continuous"..

All that is required is for you to be present in Canada for ANY 730 days (or 365 days x 2 = 2 years total) in 5 years to be able to renew your PR card.

There is just so much to read and with a pass rate of 47% (more than half of those who write the exams fail it) it will be great to have a thread where we (Nigerians) could discuss study tips, resources and ideas.

I am happy to start one but need to be sure there isn't one already that I may have missed in my search.

730 days divided by 5 years is about 146 days in one year, which means(if the 730 days info is right) you should be physically present in Canada for at least 5 months in one year. 6 months is a bit risky to me( 7 months and above should be out of your options), you should aim for lower. Quick question- How do you know you can land in August? When is your Medical expiring? Pls do a thorough research before making a decision.

Hyy. Actually they used to be several of such groups until the PEBC issued out a strict warning against participating in such groups.

Part of the reason why the syllabus was changed, resulting in the low pass rate being witnessed today.

Some of the Facebook grps are active though, but are now a shadow of themselves.

I am still in Naija but I have prepared my dried ugwu leaves, uziza leaves and bitter leaves since last year. They are all chilling in zip lock bags and would be cling filmed and wrapped whenever we are set to go.
Get a large amount of ugwu from the market, say 2000 worth or more because it is very expensive now because of the season. Let the market women slice for you. Spread in trays or sacks spread in a shaded place because direct sunlight will wilt it faster. Thank God it's harmattan period, so you are covered, it should be ready in a few days

There are many paid tutorial classes that are still thriving and there is nothing wrong with them. PEBC is only saying "Don't claim we gave you approval"

The 47% I posted earlier is the average rate from 2015 to 2018. So no be today.
