Once in a while, boil hot water and pour in into the water reservoir on the WC and flush the toilet. This should kill any hidden stuff. Also, make sure your pipes are not leaking.

Learnt it's a common krait specie known to be found in Asia, a twitter user actually mentioned its impossible to find such snakes in Africa, might have been smuggled in by some Asians living within that vicinity just the same way a lion was smuggled in.
Asians, especially Indians are known to keep snakes as pet so it wouldnt come as a surprise if her neighbor was an Indian.

The common krait and this particular Asian snake I've forgotten the name but it's common in south east asia) bite is so mild that it could be mistaken for a mosquito bite.

Most victims of their bites don't notice till they start seeing swellings

before y'all star condemning the hospitals, just know that they can only function with resources available. Your resident goes abroad for treatment, nothing concern am. and you all wanted it that way.

If we have leaders with common sense, they would set up a committee of health experts (to do something that only needs common sense but well this is the zoo) to ensure that this doesnt repEAT. look into the matter, the causes (wetin snake de do inside house), education of the masses on how to recognize snake bite and how to go for treatment immediately, and more importantly equip hospitals with the necessary medications and anti-venoms in emergencies. Not to mention good roads and ambulances to take these victims to the hospitals, as well as a civilized citizenry that would give chance when they hear ambulance with siren coming.

It would not cost more than 10b naira to start all these in one state. But a good emergency service system will go a long way with improving a society. If we had good ambulance services, they would have driven on good roads with good cars and well trained EMS staff who would give this woman the anti-snake venom eve before she gets to the hospitals and all doctors would need to do would be to observe her.

A loose cover on your septic tank or a break in the sewer line can provide the necessary access, and while it's unlikely for a snake to crawl through vertical pipes to an upper bathroom, it could emerge from a toilet on the ground floor

Pls in case of anyone next time, quickly grind charcoal into powder form, while grinding it, put water in a kettle and warm for 3minutes, this to allow for easy mixing but you can also use normal room temp water. Put the powdery charcoal in a cup and pour the warm water inside the cup and mix properly and thourougly. Give it to the victim to drink with his/her head tilt a bit higher than his body. Within few minutes, the poisonous chemicals would be neutralized and the victim out of harms way. God protect us all.
