Thank you so much Tunlex01 for your prompt response and all that you're doing here, more Blessings on you, Amen!

Neither of us has pay slips or ever paid tax before. I stopped working last year but can still get letter/proof of work experience from my employer. Hubby is still working and would never want to be the principal applicant, he can only agree to write IELTS and support me in little ways he can. My hubby's company is not well structured, he's the accountant, but he's more in the field than the office paying off government agencies and paying himself/others as well(they're into clearing and forwarding). What would you suggest please?

[quote author=bellong post=85539922]@itwillendinprai,

Check Construction project manager or Project Administrator to see what aligns better with your experience.

I want to believe your course was 5 years so you shouldn't have issue with qualification assessment.

Your company can swear an affidavit that you are paid in cash and you should provide tax certificate as evidence that tax was paid.

@belong, I appreciate your response, God bless you loads Amen!!!

Sure, my course was for 5 years. I already checked the duties of a construction Project manager and it aligns more with my Director/Manager's position. My duties were mainly supervision/monitoring of activities and progress of ongoing projects, giving suggestions, requesting for more materials when/where needed, plus some administrative work. I report directly to my Manager. I don't really know, but I think my duties align more with the program/Project administrator. Please What do you think?

My Manager would be glad to assist me with affidavit, but the tax certificate is where I have a problem as I've not paid tax with my company before, except for when I worked as a customer care agent for MTN which lasted for less than two years.

I don't know what a scientific officer does, so I'd push you to visit Www.anzscosearch.com to check the occupation list to see the occupation you can nominate.

Click the Hamburger sign and select 'List'
Go through the 3 lists MLTSSL, STSOL and ROL
Click any of the occupations that best relate to what you do.
When you click the occupation, scroll down to 'Anzsco code' and scroll to 'Tasks'
Check if the tasks relate to the occupation you have selected.
Revert here with occupation(s) you deem relate to what you do and we will take it up from there

Chemist is the related occupation

Chemist is the related occupation
You can't assess as a Chemist due to your degree. Your only option will be chemistry technician.

Have you gone through the tasks for the occupation?

Only NSW is nominating the occupation for 491 visa and requires at least 5 years experience.

Other states may nominate the occupation by July.

Wow. What a great thread this is. I've spent the past one week reading through the threads and I went from a total novice to the point I can ask intelligent questions.

1. I studied Civil Engineering in UNIBEN. It's a five year course.

2. I've been working at a small private civil engineering firm since my graduation which totaled about 8 years of experience.

3. Since I'm 34 years of age, I plan to write PTE test till I achieve the maximum point of 20 to boost my score.

4. My question is: with all the credentials/limitations above, what job should I nominate for the best chance of getting ITA?

Thanks in anticipation.

Hello Ogas In the house.

I'm at the very beginning stage of my PR adventure. I read mechanical engineering in school (b. Eng) but I have since abandoned it for filmmaking.

I noticed some States have film director( film and TV) on their job lists.

I really don't have any certificate in that line but I have verificable experience spanning years in film.

Can I still apply and what do I send to VENTASSES for assessment?

Help guys.

Option 1: Civil Engineer with EA
Option 2: Civil Engineering Draftsperson with Vetassess

Both are available for nomination in several states, however with EA, you will get max points for experience if you have pension or tax for the 8 years while Vetassess will deduct at least 1 year experience which will drop your experience points.

You can use your mechanical engineering degree to assess for the occupation (212312) even though it's not related. Most likely, more than 2 years will be deducted from your years of experience if your job descriptions are well aligned.

NSW and SA are currently nominating it; NSW requires a minimum of 5 years approved Vetassess experience while SA requires that you have 95 points (inclusive of 15 points for 491 visa).

You can check Vetassess website for all the documents you need to send and upload. You may also wish to try the Skill Assessment Support service on Vetassess website to know if your degree will surely fly.

Good luck.

Thanks so much man, I really appreciate this. I have been reading your replies to everyone back to the begining and I've already identified what could be likely problems.

My experience so far hasn't been with any particular company, at least not for long. It comprises years of freelance, years of contract based work. The payment are always in invoice format.

How can I package these things for the assessment. I figured the assessment is the first stumbling block.

Thanks once again.

I just went through and you are right, it's very detailed.

And my next question (hopefully) the last is a matter of opinion.

From your experience or gut feeling, what do you think is my chance of getting ITA through the director (film and television)

Especially with the fact that:
1. I don't have a highly relevant education background
2. It's only nominated in two provinces and I only qualify for only one of the provinces (NA is asking for high point of 95. I can't get more than 75 from my calculation.

I have enough evidence to substantiate my self employed nature.

Cheers.

Your qualification (relevant or not relevant) is inconsequential after getting a positive assessment.

I am not DHA neither do I work with any of the state migration teams...the decision to proceed is up to you.

The above relates to my experience over the years, while 224111: Actuary (MLTSSL) relates to my BSC degree with little experience.

Ill appreciate your feedback..
