i see no reason caf picked gana ahead of ndidi and also included matip who have long retired from the cameroonian national team. aside this two others deserves to be included
That's why I said I don't blamed CAF because it's the results of the voting process which is subjective to the participating voter's pool.

Some of them don't analyze beyond reasonable doubt before casting their votes to have observed your points above.

Some May not even have the privilege of watching the players enough throughout but just opportuned to have access to the voting process only.

Part of why some voters do abstain when not sure of whom to cast their votes for

Bayern played the champions league finals and swept the German titles with kuffor one of the main stays of that team while KANU was playing 3rd fiddle to Henry and Dennis Bergkamp at Arsenal.
Mane was given the award in 2020, I can say he won it in 2020 if I wish because that is actually not a wrong sentence. English is very fluid that's why you need lawyers when signing papers.

The award was officially labelled "2019 African player of the year" ...

This isn't about English...its about U refusing to accept that u are wrong!

'What Do You Do If Messi Says He Looks Up To You' - Nkwocha Lauds Oshoala After Snubbing Barca Star In POTY Voting

Nigeria great Perpetua Nkwocha has paid tribute to Barcelona superstar Asisat Oshoala for equaling her feat of winning the CAF Women's Best Player awards four times.

It will be recalled that Nkwocha did not include Oshoala among her top three picks for the prestigious accolade as she went for Ajara Nchout, Tabitha Chawinga, Gabrielle Ouguene as her first, second and third pick respectively

Nkwocha was the undisputed African football queen in the years 2004, 2005, 2010 and 2011 at the CAF awards while Oshoala claimed same laurels in 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2019. Both women also won the Africa Women's Nations Cup as part of their numerous honours.

"I remember vividly when you were asked in an interview who you look up to as a young star and you called my name and I smiled because I've seen you play," Nkwocha posted on her Facebook wall Wednesday morning.

"Hmm. What do you do if Messi says he looks up to you? You just smile (putting smiley emoji).

"Congratulations star girl. Make and break records girl. The world (is) at your feet," Nkwocha who now coaches Swedish side Clemensnas IF," wrote on the social media platform.

Oshoala who defeated Cameroon's Ajara Nchout and South Africa's Thembi Kgatlana to the crown took to her twitter account to express gratitude to her gratitude.

"Grateful to be Africa Women's Player of the Year for the 4th time. Thank God, my family and fans for the support.

"Big shootout to my club, my Management, teammates at both national team and club level and of course thanks to CAF for the opportunity," Oshoala who has scored 10 league goals in 13 league matches for the Barcelona Femeni enthused.

English isn't the problem here... u are refusing to accept that u were wrong !

U claimed that Kanu won the award in 2000 ahead of Sammy Kuffor who won the champions league with Bayern in 2000(false!) . The award Kanu won in 2000 was for being the best African player in 1999 not 2000 like u claimed..

People will always complain of CAF, FIFA or UEFA awards. It's a rarity an award will be accepted by everyone. The last time Nigeria won the African player of the year award in 2000 by KANU, it was unmerited because Osei Kuffor was one of the best midfielders in the world at the time, winning champions leagues and German titles with Bayern Munich while KANU was a bench warmer at Arsenal.
Yet, Kanu won but I'm sure no Nigerian complained about it. Even when Ikpeba won the award, so many people believed Taribo who came 3rd was more deserving. When these things favour you, celebration is allowed, when it does not simply move on because sometime in the past, it favored you ahead of a more deserving winner.
This was my original post, @Danielnino00 is the bolded true or false? Did KANU win the award in 1999 or 2000? Let me put your comprehension skill to test.

False!!

He won the 1999 African footballer of the year award not 2000's
..That they gave him the award in 2000 doesn't make any difference..

The whole post itself is a lie .. Sammy Kuffor wasn't a midfielder and he didn't win the UCL in 2000 ...

Allnigeriasoccer.com has been told that Spanish La Liga side Getafe CF are on the verge of confirming the capture of Nigeria international Oghenekaro Etebo.

The Stoke City-owned central midfielder landed in Madrid on Wednesday and he was accompanied on the trip to the Spanish capital by Ariyo Igbayilola (see photo), well known as one of the agents that brokered the deal taking Victor Osimhen to Wolfsburg in January 2017.

Subject to a traditional medical, Etebo is joining Getafe on loan for the remainder of the 2019-2020 season, with a purchase option inserted into the contract.

The former Warri Wolves star has been out of favour at the Potters since recovering from a hamstring complaint, missing all the fourteen matches contested by the club in all competitions, though he was an unused substitute on two occasions.

Getafe's next competitive match comes up against Badalona in the Copa del Rey this Saturday and it remains to be seen if the Nigeria international will make his debut for the Azulones in that match.

Etebo could also feature in the Europa League as Getafe have qualified for the knockout rounds and face Ajax Amsterdam in the round of 32 next month.

HOW EBERE EZE SPARKED DISAGREEMENT BETWEEN ROHR AND NFF PRESIDENT PINNICK

The cold war between President of the Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF) Amaju Pinnick and coach of the Super Eagles Gernot Rohr was fueled by a disagreement over inviting QPR midfielder Ebere Eze, Owngoalnigeria.com understands.
Pinnick is a big fan of the 21 year old and sincerely believe he will bring the much needed creativity and flair that is missing in the Super Eagles if called up by Rohr.

Rohr on the other hand is not so keen on the QPR forward as he believes his present options in midfield are in a way suitable to the present style of play of the team although he made a u-turn and spoke via proxy to the player before the Super Eagles last round of games in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

After growing frustrated over Rohr's snubs, Eze decided to honour a call up to the England U21 ahead of Nigeria which means he will now require a clearance from FIFA before he can play for Nigeria and that infuriated Pinnick who had pushed for him to be called up earlier as it takes a whole lot to get a player cleared by FIFA after playing for England.

The NFF supremo however didn’t give up on the talent and travelled to London where he had dinner with the player, in the process revealed that Eze is still keen on representing Nigeria.
That didn’t go down well with Rohr who always want things done outside the attention of the media after the failed attempt to lure Tammy Abraham before the World Cup 2018 in Russia. Pinnick is however not on same wavelength with the German coach because he felt Rohr was too slow to act, otherwise the boy wouldn't have been capped by England to subject Nigeria to the long process of clearing a player they already had in their hands.

Furthermore speaking with Cyriel Dessers behind the coach and posting his switch of allegiance speech on the official website of the NFF somehow undermines the authority of Rohr who believes he should be the one to speak with Dessers not the President.

Pinnick’s action has placed the coach under pressure to call up the forward who has been in good form for Dutch side Heracles Almelo. Rohr is however not fully convinced that the forward is needed now in the Super Eagles.

The two issues has further dented the frosty relationship the duo have been trying to patch since the end of the World Cup 2018 in Russia where they both disagreed on the reason behind the group stage exit of the Super Eagles.

Rohr showed no interest in Eze for a long time. It took some pressure for him to make a halfhearted attempt for him and he did not contact him directly.
