Good morning my honorable Car gurus in the House. I troway salute to you all. have been a silent guest on this platform for some months now and been following up on car issues and advices from reputable men here. I had my corolla stolen at gun point last year with my wife shot in the hand. Since then I have been scared of owing a car but now I think I am ready to get one now. I have a difficult choice in making between a Toyota Rav 2004 And Honda CRV 2004. I am going for a Nigerian used. My reason for choosing this rides are a result of the bad conditions of our roads and I need a car that Is off road. What are the differences between Rav 2004 and 05. Same with Honda 04-05 as I find them a striking resemblance. Things I consider 1) Problems mostly associates with both cars please 2) The one that does have AC or Gear issues often. As I wouldn’t want to repair and spend so much money while at it. 3)Availability Of parts 4) Resale Value (My wife keeps hammering it to my head) PS- Fuel consumption is not a issue here. Permit me to mention some gurus I follow up here Cc Gazzuzz Buygala Dru23 Smartchoiice Kingreignn Timifakay Nurey Logobenz And more others that skipped my head. Please do put a brother through. Japanese boxes.... buy anyone with structural, mechanical and electrical integrity ... resale value goes to the toyota I will recommend the RAV4 if both boxes are in same conditions 1 Like 1 Share |

If I am in your shoes, I will choose RAV4 because it has more second hand value that CRV. Also the Ball Joint problems associated with Hondas that always make them kneel on the road is not found in RAV 4. CRV is more spacious, and beautifully designed both in and out, but no second hand value sir. 4 Likes 1 Share |

I used the CRV 04 some years back and it's a relatively good car to own. -Had the leg pull once.I got the signs but ignored as I was just a broke university student then. -Gear issues.This almost killed me.E chop my college allowance wella. It's remedy is to fill in its required oil but you know na,as a college kid,I was too broke to afford that. Na 700 ATF I be dey buy bros. Consumption of fuel isn't bad at all. -A.C dey give problem well if not handled by proper techies. Since you aren't buying it toks,go for the RAV4 as you can't ascertain the previous owner's maintenance culture and for resale purposes too. But the CRV as I know is one tough car to die,irrespective of how you rough it. The 05 CRV just has leather seats and shiny head and tail lights,no much difference. Then the CRV too Is one unstable car at speeds,may have more roll over tendencies than the RAV 4. I think you should buy the RAV4 sir. 6 Likes 1 Share |

boss go for 05 Honda Crv....the car has many advantages over the 05 rav 4 that has 2Az engine notorious for burning oil. The transmission is not reliable. The Crv is spacious and very strong and ready to haul loads. the styling is more beautiful... the Crv can be pimped and it will look more beautiful, but the Rav 4, if pimped, will look stupid.... The Crv is very balanced and very good for traveling with excellent fuel economy, same cannot be said of the Rav4. those calling second hand value this, second hand value that, please how much is the Toks of an 05 Crv and the 05 rav4. I say to you guys, you obviously not calculated. the Crv has better ground clearance over the rav 4. the engine and gear on the Crv will buy only Rav 4's 2az engine. #wearehondausers #wearecalculated #westylefine 7 Likes 1 Share |

Carfreak966: Both cars are somehow on same level. Resale value - RAV 4 Likely Transmission issue - RAV 4 Ecstatics - CRV Enjoyable car - CRV Strong engine - CRV Design - CRV Availability of parts - Both cars But in all of these....it depends on your maintenance culture. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Carfreak966: RAV4 should be your choice CRV can have the cave in like Honda Accord CRV has rear camber issues when you overload and carry cargo it won't take abuse like the crv in the gear and steering rack department. but when you look at the robber magnet thing, you are safe with a Nissan Xtrail  1 Like |

I am equally interested in buying a honda CRV 2004 model. Are you suggesting I should rather go for Toyota RAV 4 2004 instead. Pls I need your advice. |
