I saved just #100,000 (one hundred thousand naira) before I quit my security job. My mother's friends and step dad who is a police officer promised to help me join the Nigerian Police Force.

But I don't want to see my savings going down gradually, so I am thinking of starting a business while waiting for the Police form and recruitment. But I have never done any business before, because I saw myself being to quiet to do or run a business.

Should I just wait for the police recruitment or start a business with the money I saved?

What business can I do that won't affect me if I successfully join the NPF, and what business can #100,000 do..

Please help me, remember I have never got involved in any business because of my quietness.

Should I just wait for[\quote] make sure u take part in any business you are investing your money into. with 100 you can do buying and selling. depending on your location. if you have university around you, you could go into selling of wear, cloth, shoes or bags for ladies. you can get them cheap in lagos trade fair. or if you have someone in the north they can help you buy rice, corn, beans, groundnut or soybeans, you make contact b4 arrival of the goods. there are many things you could do with 100k and make good money from.

Go do a fixed deposit or buy a 90 days TB (Treasury Bills) with your savings for the main time.

Before you start any business, you need knowledge. If you start any business without the technical know-how, you would loss your savings.

Business isn't gambling. Business is about finding a solution to a specific problem you observed around you.

Look around you, there must be a problem you can solve locally.

I don't know how many years or months you did at your previous job, you must have seen some challenges which requires solution.

People move around and need something to carry them from one place to another, if your money can't buy keke (tricycle), you should be able to buy okada (motorcycle). Since, you want something that would affect your next job, you can consider this option.

People eat daily, people drink (water and soft-drink) daily, people wear clothes daily, people brush daily, etc.

Just look around you and you would find at least one problem you can solve.

Don't do any digital business or cryptocurrecy yet, it requires knowledge which your 100k mightn't be able to acquire yet.

Look within, find a problem, provide or source a solution, charge for the solution, make money and you are in business.

The way youth of nowadays complain still baffles me.. You have phone and internet.. $100 is even enough for you to start life if planned well..
