[My power steering oil is dropping seriously. What can I do please?

quote author=GAZZUZZ post=24391019]How Power Steering Works

Hydraulic power steering is very dependable, but complex in operation.  When problems occur a basic understanding prevents many expensive mistakes.
Virtually all vehicles built today employ power steering.  Electric steering is becoming increasingly popular, but for the foreseeable future, hydraulic steering is likely to remain prevalent.  Hydraulic steering uses a pump, normally driven by a belt.  The pump supplies pressure, and driver control is supplied by either the rack and pinion or a steering gear box.
Much of the system is similar, whether a rack and pinion or a steering box is used.  Rack and pinion offers lighter weight and more precise control.  Steering gears are more durable and tolerate rough treatment far better.  This is why many SUV and truck applications use steering gear boxes.
With either system, fluid pressure from the pump is used to push against a piston.  When the wheel is turned, pressure flows to one side and the piston moves.  The piston is attached to the steering gears.  Hydraulic pressure does the work, and the driver controls the direction by turning the steering wheel.

You bought a problem. No one in their right minds should buy a 2003-2007 accord V6.

You might be lucky to get off with an improperly connected counter shaft speed sensor harness.

Guys please I need help with this issue.

I have a Lexus RX 300 but I've noticed that the oil level seems to drop pretty fast, even a few weeks after servicing.

I use Mobil Oil by the way.

I recently drove down (serviced it a week before) from Lagos to the village (approximately 6 hours drive) no issues, got home safe.

Before heading back to Lagos (3 weeks later), I noticed that the oil level was low and I had it serviced again with 5 liters of Mobil oil. Changed the oil filters too.

But on getting to Lagos(another 6 hour drive) the same thing happened. Oil level had considerably dropped.

- There is no physical oil leakage where it's parked.
- The engine does not smoke

The oil just seems to vanish into thin air.

I'll appreciate if anybody has had similar experiences or can offer any tips to prevent this.

P.S car is in excellent working condition, only the oil issues.

Thank you for the video.

Could be a possibility. But if it were, wouldn't the exhaust smoke be dark? Mine isn't.

But I'll keep it in mind.

Thank you.

Somebody else said this. So I'm supposed to change just the valve or that entire casing?

I just need a bit of clarification.

When I experienced this, changing the valve did not work, until I changed the rear cover to the 3rd Gen

No mine was an HL but it's same 3.0litre V6 engine. In terms of cost, I think I got the cover 5k and then workmanship was more(it's not easy to get to that rear). In my case, I also used the opportunity to changed all the plugs to original iridium so I have at least 50k miles before needing to go to the rear of that engine again.

My Car vibrates at Idle when the AC is turned on. However when I'm driving it works just fine. Warm in idle state and the engine vibrates but cooler and running smoothly when moving.

I changed the compressor and the condenser. Everything was neatly installed.

At times, even when the AC is off but the engine is charged after speeding, I will experience a rough idle when I stop with the engine vibrating and jerking.

Please I need an advice.

Good evening Gazzuzz, please I need your help. My Lexus es330 was acquired by November 2019 (Toks) and properly serviced.

A few days ago, after going on a trip, the "Maintenance Required" light came up on my dash. And I have just driven about 3k miles with it in the past two months.

I have checked the oil gauge, and I think it's at an okay level, oil not dark nor greasy.

Do I ignore this notification or is there a fix?

I have done engine tune up severally. If you start the vehicle in the morning, it run well on idle
But when the engine is very hot especially in the afternoon, it will start vibrating on idle while using AC.

Any other option Sir?
