Cool. thank you

That's what i want to know if its possible. thanks bro

It seems there is a clear misunderstanding here. Either you or myself are not passing the message correctly. Do you intend to submit your application while in the US but just apply as if you are in Nigeria? Just like the way my wife and I applied for her mum from Canada but it seemed she applied from Nigeria? If that, you are good to go. Any other stuff is not applicable to you.

Good luck!

Anybody can apply for a visa only from anywhere. Are you saying he can apply as a resident in the US? Did you imply that the person you know that was in the US with b1/b2 visa applied as a resident of the US or the person applied online and the application was treated like every other Nigerian applying from Nigeria?

i was surprise too and i ask same question
yes he was in usa in b1/b2 visa and he explain

Number 7 question asked is

Current country or territory residence

he choose united state of America . AND status he choose VISITOR

and the the duration was is I94 dated 6 months ..and he told me he explain why he wanted to visit Canada in the letter of explanation ..it was a tourist visa he apply and was granted ...i do not know about student visa

[quote author=Dextra post=30042678]I know how frustrating it can be when you try to get information from the Student Visa session, all you see is "Medical hopefuls" and lots. I tried to find information too when I wanted to apply for my Visitor Visa. Anyway, recently I received a Multiple Entry Visa Canada So, the basic requirement are all in the website: Application form, Family information and all that. Now, other document to submit depends on your purpose of visit. You need to prove to the VO that you will return after your visit.
Please can you share the link or website you applied, I will like to travel with my family

I am not a guru but to my understanding, if your biometric is still valid, you’re not going to pay biometric fee or give another biometric within the period of 10years. Caution: If your biometric isn’t validated, you’re to pay biometric fee and did another biometric!!! hope you understand and is clear!!!

Concerning the Visa fee, I can’t tell Because Canada do change a lot of information! I don’t wanna give wrong information.. Other Gurus in the house may help on you that!

Hi everyone in this great platform. My husband and I are seeking for greener pastures. We r on the express entry route but we d scores are blowing up and we have really tried on IELTS. We just want to seek other means. I need sincere answers as I have questions to ask about this visitors Visa. 1. Do we need travel experience to apply fr this visa as we have no travel history at the moment 2. Can we get a work permit with this visa. 3 can we continue our pr application process while on this and also after the visa has been approved 4 what are the benefits of visitors Visa eg are we going to benefit from health insurance and some little benefits before pr comes. We want to try this route cs the only option now is gettn an employment or have an experience in Canada dat will go a long way in boosting our crs scores as we don't have any relative whatsoever. Plz I will like this questions to be answered as it will give us an headway in our plans. Thanks in advance.

Please how did you schedule biometrics appointment with vfs? I went there today for biometrics, they told me I need to first schedule appointment but I haven't been able to schedule it since morning. I am getting "You have exceeded the maximum no. of allowed appointments" error when I try to schedule online but I have never scheduled any appointment. I also sent them email to schedule appointment, they just said they'll get back to me, I haven't heard anything. I am trying to schedule the appointment for Monday, please help.

Best is to continue your PR application process, getting tourist visa while you have a pending PR application is almost zero.
Travel history is also very important for Canada tourist visa.

You will be applying for a tourist visa since you said u have no relative over there to invite you

Hello my good people,

I’ve been reading along on this page for a while now and I appreciate how you all provide advice and encouragement here.

After waiting since mid September, my application for SWOP ended in a refusal today on the grounds of family ties in Canada and Nigeria, and current employment situation.^^ It was devastating to say the least.

^^In my opinion we weren’t well-informed about how to present a water-tight and compelling application. This nairaland resource field wasn’t mined because it didn’t occur to us to use it...oversight is now hindsight!

Here’s my basic info anyway:
-Newly married
-Spouse works in Canada with a 2yr PGWP
-I’m employed here with a Federal Govt parastatal. It’s standard and very stable.
-Finances are available
-No travel history.
-No personal business/landed assets right now

However, these are our other options:
1. Reshoot our shot on the SOWP line, or
2. Try visitor visa with my annual leave, or
3. Manage and stick to PR route ONLY (we are still in the early stages of gathering our documents)**

**The TRV route keeps popping up instead of waiting the whole nine yards for PR because we’ve had just a week as man and wife. #pains...

Now, in the light of the above-mentioned conditions, what do you guys advise we do?
-What are my chances of success for each option?
-Is it advisable to reapply for SOWP without requesting for GMSC notes first?
-Won’t it count as desperation to apply for visitor visa?
-Is it contradictory to apply for a work permit when I supposedly already have a satisfying job here? I mean, I applied because I have to be with my husband even though I love my current job...

Many questions on my mind but I just need whoever can to put things into proper perspective for me.

Please be kind while at it. I’m still sore and downcast, you know.

Thank you all.

Sigh!

Reapply for the SOWP as seeing your hubby has a work permit, they may not issue you a visitor Visa. Order your GCMS asap. Does your hubby have a NOC A, B or 0 job in Canada? If u give a few more details about yr application, I could offer some pointers. I have been where u are now.

You can also try Provincial. Provincial nominations add 600 points and makes you qualify automatically for Express Entry.

Questions is: have you ever committed, been arrested for, been charged with or convicted of any criminal offence in any country? If yes, please provide details.
abbyode:
It depends on the type of questions asked. Normally you answer yes to any criminal related question only if you have been convicted of any crime.

Be that as it may, I think you should paste specific questions being asked here for us to analyze. Personally speaking, I don’t think there’s any cause for alarm since he wasn’t convicted. This is my personal opinion without any prejudice.

With the way the question is, you should answer yes normally based on your situation . However, I will like you to hear other people’s opinion. My point is I won’t want you to lie about anything so they don’t issue a ban should they find out. Let’s wait for more experienced people to comment please. It will surely end in praise for you IJMN.

The surest way for you is the PR route. Since your hubby is already working using PGWP. He only needs to work for one year then he will be qualified for PR using Canadian experience route. That’s almost automatic. Tourist visa might not work for you as you won’t be able to prove a tie in Nigeria. If you are reapplying for SOWP then you have to know when his PGWP will expire vis a viz when the application will be decided. I hope this helps?

I really appreciate this input. His pgwp will be expiring in December. We had hoped we’d be able to spend this new year together while processing our PR whereby he’s the primary applicant. But with this new development we are thinking of not reapplying for a work permit anymore and process a visitor visa instead so I can at least visit him with my annual leave before PR clicks. Besides no much time will be left after waiting for another work permit outcome...I’m guessing the duration, if granted, won’t exceed time remaining in his permit.

Thank you for weighing in. I’d appreciate more insight pls.
