dragon2:Let me make it simple for you. A helicopter designed primarily for transport = transport helicopter. A helicopter designed primarily for an attack role = Attack helicopter. An A109 was and always will be a helicopter primarily designed for transport... Hence its a transport helicopter 1 Like |

Stargate254: Ofc! I couldn't be bothered to respond especially almost 2 weeks after the fact. Which soldier breaks cover and deliberately exposes himself when rounds are flying? That follow up was pure determination and balls! He could've been leading them into an ambush. If he were a US patrol leader the episode would already be on Warfighters2! |

jl115: Getting ahead of yourself and posting untruths. A109 is a utility helicopter. Transport helicopters would be MI 8/17/17ISH, Black Hawks or Super Puma. The only dedicated attack helos may just be the Apaches, Mangustas, Tigers, MI 28Ns and KA 52s BUT as someone said, it is the mission that defines the designation for the utility choppers 3 Likes |

I like the work Gambia doing to protect its waters from unregulated fishing. I wish Nigeria would do the same. There's lots piracy and illegal fishing activity. There's millions or dollars and lots protein being taken. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UgSoUdDTNGE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xP3oXb7um1Q https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jjqH-jonEg |

Jimi24:It's the role that defines its designation and yes as you said the A109 is a utility helicopter used primarily for transport but also for S&R, maritime roles, and occasionally fire support..... It's not an AH |

jl115:You have lost the plot. As the Kenyan MD-530F shows, the role of the helicopter defines it's designation. AW-109K's in the Nigerian air force are used primarily as CAS platforms, hence the designation as an attack helicopter. The A-109e is used as a utility, MEDVAC in the Nigerian Air Force hence it's designation as a utility helicopter. Military equipments across the world have different designations according to the roles they are used. Japan's IZUMO class aircraft carries are called helicopter carries, despite the fact they can deploy F-35s. The Nigerian army refers to MRAPs with heavy machine guns as armoured fighting vehicles because they are not used as troop transports, instead fire support vehicles. The 45 meters vessel the Nigerian navy is currently building is referred to as a seaward defence boat, other countries refer to it as an IPV or MPV. In Algeria, their 60 meters locally built vessels armed with anti-ship missiles, CIWS and 76mm gun is referred to as a Corvette, but in other countries they are missile boats. In Nigeria we would refer to a 60 meters vessel as a seaward defence boat. Designations for military equipments are not cast in stone, equipment designations change depending on the country using them. 5 Likes |

kabe1:As for the izumo class carrier it's still remains a helicopter carrier it's just an Improvised means for deploying the F35 since it's VTOL capable. |

Lack of training and equipment, sufficient resources is always needed, Niger is a very very poor country, not saying that to be offensive, just reality (not comparing them to any country). But they should start by firing all their intelligence leaders, that's pure failure right there, regardless which country is concerned jteku: 1 Like |

Its that time again, the Las Vegas Shot Show is here again! A totally revolutionary new pistol, the Alien from Laugo Arms of the Czech republic. Its a cleansheet design, not a rebuild or upgrade of a CZ or 1911 type. A low bore axis makes it faster to shoot by reducing recoil also giving it a flatter shape making civilian carry that much easier. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AeQsMZREvP8 Eagerly waiting to see it in the bigger .40,.357 Sig and 10 mm!
