I this context, it could mean digital marketing, owning digital assets like a money generating app, or fintech. That's the context I was speaking from.

Ibrahim505:

What do you mean by digital economy in this context?

I try to follow daily. I am not totally green though, but una level too high and 5k plus pages is too much to spend ones lifetime trying to catch up with.

Na so...usually I catch up after work

But some important discussions may be going on in the mix of the funs catching which one may not see very well if your rushing it.

Like BUA CEMENT merger with CCNN discussion that was going on about 4 months ago. Because I was busy then and didn’t pay much attention in the NSEMPA thread, I missed that opportunity of buying CCNN at N17 -19, just to sell to BUA CEMENT this January at N34...just see golden opportunity one missed

But more opportunities will come again this year and God will help me to invest wisely in good opportunities that will come up in the stock market.

I thought FA people just wait for dividends at the end of the financial year and never really bothered about share price changes.

FA are financial analysts. ..look into companies financial books and know what the management of the company are saying, not saying, hiding, value the worth of the shares which may be fair value or current price or bargain price
Ogas like currentprice, emmanuelewumi, Bigjay, Pluto, oakperl ,Chibuking, Rebecca etc are good in that aspect . Usually may be interested in dividend payments

TA are techcnical analysts otherwise called Chart people. ..na chartists oga Emmanuelwumi de call them using price volume chart to know daily, weekly, monthly or yearly movement of stocks. Most of them are traders, jump in jump out...jijo masters. Most are not interested in dividend payments
Sometimes, they will jump in and will not jump out without losing funds...here stop loss is activated.
Ogas like FXUSER, BullBearMkt, Agbalowomeri etc are there..

But some ogas like Agbalowomeri, Rabidoracle etc combine everything and know when to invest. ...buys stock at bottom price and sell at high prices and how on long vacation ......usually are not interested in dividend

Its just fun knowing where you belong and stick to what work for you with aim of making money and less loss

Half of my yearly income comes in then month if Jan. Like someone earlier hinted, all the alternative investment options mentioned so far on this forum ain't worth the stress. I've dumped my earnings in mmf. Capital preservation guaranteed. My major tb matures in Sept. And if by then tb still haven't pick up, I'll still move them to mmf.
Sometimes in Dec. I wanted to diversify in dollars ($) savings and investment, one of my colleague I approached to sign my form narrated a rather bizarre experience. He told me he opened a domiciliary account and deposited $500 and after two yrs, he decided to check the bal, lo and behold the money has reduced to $350 in the name of act mtc and commission. ( he quickly withdrrew the bal. to be kept at home. He signed the form though but advised me against keeping my fund in Dom acct.
Those that operate $ bond should please advice me or share their experience.

I operate a dorm account with GT where I have access to check my balance on line anytime I want. My balance for more than one year has remained same. No maintenance charge. Only transfer and withrawal attracts charges their.

I just decided to stick to treasury bills.
It fits my purpose despite the rate at the moment.

I need Zero Access to my funds.
Plus I like the upfront payment.

Enough distractions already. (am wasting my time looking for new investments, the difference ain't worth all the stress and distraction)

Thank you PA Emmanuelewumi and others for all your help.

I agree with you, also, if I look at the rates averaged over time then it is not all that bad. I got 15% in 2018, 13% in 2019 and probably I will get around 5% this year, on average 11%. I will keep my existing funds with Tbills. I might try stocks with the interests and some other new funds. undecided

If the money reach na house I for buy to insulate my self against inflation and devaluation.

The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr. Godwin Emefiele, has again ruled out the possibility of a naira devaluation, amidst the dwindling level of the country’s foreign reserves.
He said the Bank would rather continue to sustain existing foreign exchange management and stability currently evident in the market.

In the early 90s, there was a Professor of Finance at UNILAG. Professor Green Nwankwo, he had investment in a lot of blue chip companies worth hundreds of millions of Naira way back, he was once the chairman of Africa Continental Bank and a director of a number of multi national companies listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange, he was once a deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, I met Prof when he was the Chairman of Union Bank.

Upon all the money, connection and investments, Prof still found time to give lectures to his students.

That is what, I call passion. Teaching was his calling and no amount of wealth will prevent him from teaching.

Nobody responded because it's obvious you didn't do even basic reading to understand the nuances in what you're about to put money into.

In addition, you're asking what is "advisable" regarding something that's highly situation-dependent. No one here knows the details of your situation such as how much you want to invest, how long you intend to invest for, what your purpose for investment is etc... all of which are factors in determining what is advisable.

You're about to part with your hard-earned cash. The least you can do is thoroughly read and understand what you're entering.

In any case, enter "secondary market" into the Nairaland search bar and choose the "Investment" section. You'll see a long series of posts regarding secondary market investment and its pros and cons relative to primary market.
Good day sir,

Very good that CBN had been able to put the issue of devaluation to rest. The way people were rushing to convert naira to dollar would have been just as terrible as naira devaluation. CBN should encourage local investments, only local investors can secure our economy and future. Foreign investors can transfer all their investments to their home country within minutes, because they are not investing in the real sectors like Nigerians, but in money market.

Don't tell me you believed Emefiele, the economic indices are at variant to what he preaches. I've been around long enough never to trust anything called govt. and it's agencies in Nigeria. Perhaps you need a Fr. Mbaka prophecy to the the direction the Naira is heading. Even if you put a gun to Emefiele's head, he won't tell you the truth. But the obvious is out there for you to discern. With the way they are trying to douse the tension regarding devaluation - I take it as positive to start converting my money to healthy currency At least those at my disposal

Guys, write your will.

Writing it won't kill you or hasten your death.

It just means you care enough about your family to create a plan for their well-being just in case something happens to you.

Update it annually.

Same situation. What bank to invest your treasury bill and get a good rate.

Same bank you are already using. But had no idea what to request for?
