As far as I am concerned, the country might not be very far from another civil war if the condition of things don't change, look at the level of insecurity, hatred among various tribes that are supposed to be brothers and friends, level of injustice in the polity.there can never be peace without justice, sadly we haven't learnt much from the tragedies of 1967.
We fight for peace.

There may not be any war if all (almost all- the majority) the ethnic nationalities decide to go their separate ways as the Soviet republics did a few decades ago.

Collapse of Soviet Union

1. Collapse of Communism in the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe (1989)
2. Détente: Cooperation between Superpowers - During the Cold War President Nixon and Brezhnez conducted SALT (Strategic Arms Limitation Talks) conferences and signed a treaty limiting the number of missiles each country can have.

3. USSR and Afghanistan Cooperation/Détente Ends • 1979-1988 • USSR backed the Afghan government; the US backed the Mujahedeen rebels • US boycotted the 1980 Olympics in Moscow • 14,000 Soviet dead; 1+million Afghans –Over 5 million Afghans fled (more than 1/3 of the population) –10-15 million land mines still in Afghanistan –Soviets withdrawal defeated
4. - Soviet economic collapse - Nationalism in Warsaw Pact countries - Tearing down of Berlin Wall - Breakup of the Soviet Union Collapse of Communism in the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe

5. Nationalism in Warsaw Pact Countries 1. Gorbachev’s pullout from Afghanistan and his policy of Non-Intervention gave rise and momentum to Warsaw Pact nationalism movements. 2. Soviet/Warsaw Pact countries resented Soviet control and wanted to direct their own governments.
6. Tearing Down the Berlin Wall 1. East Germany elected a more moderate Communist government, but many not satisfied; allowed people to leave East Germany 2. November 9, 1989 – the Brandenburg Gate opened and people began tearing down the wall 3. Tearing down Berlin Wall symbolized and helped lead to fall of Communism in Eastern Europe; East Germany & Czechoslovakia 4. Gorbachev and President Reagan given credit for being most responsible for the end of the Cold War

7. Ronald Reagan: U.S. President 1980-88 “Tear down this wall”
8. Brandenburg Gate Fall of the wall news broadcast
9. Soviet Economic Collapse 1. Over-spending on arms race weakened government & economy 2.Soviet leader, Mikhail Gorbachev tried to reform the USSR economy in two plans a. perestroika – restructuring of the Soviet political and economic system - Weakened Russian economy in short-term b.glasnost – “Openness” freed public access to information after decades of heavy government censorship 3. Gorbachev encouraged reform in other 15 Soviet Socialist Republics: new countries 4. Hard-line communists attempted a coup against Gorbachev – failed 5. U.S.S.R. crumbles; Gorbachev = the last leader of the USSR 6.Boris Yeltsin, with support of many who wanted continued reforms, becomes President of Russia Mikhail Gorbachev U.S.S.R. Boris Yeltsin Russia

10. Break Up of Soviet Union 1. Soviet Republics, one-by-one, broke away from Moscow and declared independence. 2. 1989-90: The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (U.S.S.R) was dead.

sad Even though I'm a born again Christian, i think we igbos still haven't learnt anything from the civil war. We follow charlatans like Nnamdi kanu who is promoting the same biafra nonsense that ojukwu promoted which led to the unfortunate civil war. We igbos are the same people supporting Amotekun which is an ethnic militia that it's actions might lead to another civil war. How many times have we seen our Muslim brothers try to leave our beloved country Nigeria? Do we igbos think we can maintain and sustain ourselves if we likely get biafra which i strongly condemn? We have no natural resources asides the moribund coal in Enugu, we are landlocked, our land is muddy and not good for farming, we migrate in droves out of igbo land to do business in other parts of the country yet we scream biafra? Instead of fighting hard to produce the next president in 2023, all we do is clamour for a biafra that will never come sad
This man here is telling the sharp, bitter, piercing truth and i know his brothers will cast him out because they don't want to face reality!
I swear ba?! People wey dey sensible and useful no pass 10 for this country, the remaining 149,999,990 people are just full of greed and senseless

So that peter Obi, Tambuwal or hell-rufai can become president abi? SW will rather seceed rather than those fools rule over us. To hell with Nigeria. Nonsense.
Peter Obi is a far better administrator than osibanjo.
Far far better. I say it without any apology.
A Peter obi will not preside over a bloated and an overpaid federal government going by his antecedent.

Comparing Peter to that incompetent fool is an insult.
Re: Pictures As Osinbajo Visits The National War Museum In Umuahia by CSTR2: 7:51am On Jan 28, 2020
The RMFAC is saying politicians pay will go up.

But let us clap for osibanjo. The VP in this useless administration.

I am sure his own pay will remain constant.

Nonsense.

I completely agree. 50 years down the line and some people are still holding onto division like lives were not lost at war. May God bless and keep Nigeria.

Like you have come to your senses in that your writeup. We know how it used to go before - to make comment that will please your Fulani masters. Check that writeup and see what @prof Osibanjo is missing. Crap like "the unity of our beloved country is non negotiable, the federal govt cannot fold it's bla bla bla." We no do again, thank God that MNK IPOB is here.

VP Osinbajo remains one of the most intelligent politicians in Nigeria today.

If the APC fields him in 2023, he has my vote.

I just feel sorry for him for deputizing Buhari, a man who's not fit to be a local government chairman.

Well, that's the price we all have to pay for being Nigerians
You're right!
