For me a marriage is about being complete.
And for one to be complete it means to be whole which means to be one, if what makes you complete comes with a problem that problem becomes your own, because you are one, as in "complete".
Since it's a general knowledge that no one is perfect, there will always be a spare room for that.

So in looking at it from this angle, marriage is about helping one to be complete.

However am not talking the majority of shams that are called marriage where you only take then break the person.
