I'm a man living with my parents and I've lost girls because of this. I know am old enough to be on my own. The thing is I'm the last child . All my siblings are married and are all with their spouse. Its not that am too dependent on my family i have a job and I'm the only one living in a flat.

My house is two flat and my parents stay on the other flat. Once all the girls have dated in the past realise am living with my parents their altitude begin to change. They are not free to express themselves when they are with me. I just lost one now.

I just can't leave my parents on their own. My mum is old and she needs help with some basic things. Nigeria is not even a country where there are old people home or something. Living with them sometimes affect my activities but i have to cater for them. After all, we all going to be old some day.

It's not just about you living with them, but about their influence on your personal decisions. I personally don't see anything wrong with this but would, if they get too involved in the affairs of their son and his proposed family.
Though I have experienced second hand, the jealousy of a mother inlaw to the extent that she stabbed and killed the son's pregnant wife.
On your part, I would suggest you get a younger help for them, who can do errands for them, it is not your sole responsibility to take care of them, it is not a crime being the last born, your older siblings also have their role to play. The care for your parents could be rotated amongst you all.

It may affect your maturity because of some level of dependency, I think the real issue is you are broke or don't have enough money to get a house help or distant relative to help your folks.

Move out and live on your own, pay your own rent and get responsible, most people do not feel comfortable when parents are there even if it's the next flat.

Move to another city or a far place. Then you can start life afresh.

Also it has its dangers but then it will mature you, those ladies who leave you because of it may be scared that after marriage they will still have to live there with you and that's a NO Deal for many of us.

You really should stop dating ladies who want sex and really have a mature relationship that leads to marriage, being a last born should not make you the last to mature.
