Only Uber can mitigate coz the buses can't cater for the population, people will wait long hours and even fight to get a bus.

It was really crazy yesterday that was a Saturday. How will weekdays now be

Sanity at last.

Waiting for other major cities to follow suit. They can keep the bikes and kekes for rural areas.

you guys make a mistake of putting beauty of environment as priority as against humanity. What happens to the families of the millions that has just been rendered jobless by this small move? Do you know how many children that will drop out of school because of this?

Let's have love of humanity in our hearts first before anything. Nobody will love to do okada or Keke work everyday if they have jobs.

If we are to compare Lagos with Tokyo and newyork, does Lagos have well organised subway system? Are there functional high speed trains? What about monorails abd tamps? Are there jobs? What about social security, access to credit and business support system?

Bottom line, before the government brings a policy that will in one swoop render over a million people jobless, they should ensure the society is working.

These people are trying against all odds to put food of their table, and the same government that destroyed the society is still the same one opposing them. This Is sad.

Dont out beaty of the state before humanity.
young man, everyone must not live in the city (Lagos) dia are areas were dese okada and Keke business still trives, dey can move over there please.

Does Okada ride in Tokyo, Japan, Beijing, Berlin or New York?

Even, is Okada in Onitsha? Why would Okada be allowed in Ikeja the seat of government?

For those saying crime rate will increase, thats unless Lagos state government is clueless and stuppid. Sanwo Olu is smart though as far as I know and a very hardworking governor. You can deny this if you want... But the heavy volume of work going on Lagos roads speaks for itself.

Obiano the drunkard banned Okada in Anambra. Did heavens fall? Rochas even went to the extent of banning keke in the entire state. Did crime rate increase? Was okada not banned in Nnewi even with the rate of billionaire Okada importers from that axis? Did anybody die?

What most of you don't know is that Nigeriens, Chadians, Sudanese, Malians and Somalians took over South West without anybody knowing! It was gradual, crude and definite.... But they were almost succeeding before I believe Sanwo Olu stepped in. At a time, I was asking myself if there is no regulatory body managing these people in Lagos anymore.

They virtually took over Lagos with there stuppid, crazy and mannerless style of driving. They felt like Lords of the city and if you try to caution them, they will bow there heads in foolishness to thank you. But in there hearts, they were calling you Mumu after scratching your car.

What is Keke doing in Victoria Island? Who even brought this useless contraption to Nigeria? India that manufactures these nonsense made moves to regulate them.

Google Indian roads and see how organized keke driving is. But in Lagos, its madness! They will keep on creating multiple lanes that cause traffic, scratching peoples car with no mercy, hitting pedestrians with reckless abandon while using there Okada and useless keke to rob at night!

I ask again, is Lagos no longer a city? Why is there no Okada in Tokyo, Japan, Beijing, Berlin, Stuttgart, Dubai, Osaka, Chicago or New York?

Sanwo Olu if you are reading this, its not much about making these laws. Its about enacting and enforcing these laws! Enforce the ban and see sanity return to Lagos!

Obiano the drunkard? Are you well at all? If a drunkard could be a governor and somebody like you can't, doesn't it show a drunkard is far better than you? You're far below drunkard.

Lagos state already have the blue buses plans on ground. I just hope they begin with the plan on time.

Haha!

How many routes does it cover?

A cosmopolitan city like Lagos should have 3 means of transport. Road, rail and water. But we only have one. And the govt is reducing the capacity of the only one with no alternatives

Hopefully our audio governor in Oyo state will do the same for Ibadan.

I wish for a citywide ban on okada and keke.

Keke and Okadas has been banned in some states in the same Nigeria and heaven didn’t fall. Crime rate didn’t increase. Life went on afterwards.

Is it the responsibility of the LASG to keep you and your family in Lagos? If you can’t cope with your previous means of livelihood you can relocate to somewhere else. Moreover keke and bike might be operational in your state of origin or wherever you came from.

If you want to achieve orderliness and sanity in a system you don’t bow to emotions or sentiments. The General well being of the citizens is what’s necessary here to focus on. I’m sure you enjoy the calmness and orderliness on Abuja road whenever you visit. Please add keke and bikes and see that the menace they would cause there. If you haven’t been dealt with by this bike riders and their recklessness you won’t understand what someone with a leg hanged at igbogbi is passing through.

Is their Agbero is Sam cities you mentioned?

Sanwo Olu should face the bigger nuisances.

NURTW a.k.a Agbero are more of a bigger nuisance to Lagos State than Okada men.

But me and you both know that he can never do that as those thugs, touts and hoodlums work for is political father.

Lagos roads and transport system will remain a mess with or without Okada ban.

This's exact problem we having in Nigeria. We trying to please everyone. Take the steps and see if they won't survive it.

How do you want the government to help the situation if you want the government to keel pleasing everyone.

There are 91 million extremely poor people today in Nigeria. That's almost the population of West Africa, twice the population of South Africa and that's because of misgovernance. Instead of regulating them you come out and ban them and see if they won't survive . Does that make sense?

All they are guilty of is trying to survive in this same government induced poverty. no one will go and drive bike or Keke of they have a job .

I am just confused with all these developments. I want a better, cleaner, more organized Lagos but I also know that those bikes n kekes keep food on the tables of many families.

How has it been for the former okada riders in Onitsha? Did they get absolved into other jobs or what?

Please shed more light on how the ban has helped Onitsha n Nnewi? Most of us are floating in this case.
Re: Ikeja Under Bridge After Okada And Keke Ban (Photos) by AfroKnight: 8:37am On Feb 02, 2020
This is a dishonest representation of facts.

The best time to assess this is on a week day. Tomorrow is Monday. You will understand the draconian nature of this ban.

Every society has its upper class and the lower class who service them.

There are not enough buses and the roads are bad. Trains are out of the question. Ferries are the most inflexible after airplanes. So the major transport option is road! Yesterday the traffic buildup on Gbagada-Oworonshoki Express way was legendary. Both sides of the express were blocked. And on a weekend!

Monday will reveal the real effect of this premature ban.

If you've ever trek 30-40 mins before you can take a bus going to where you want to,you will know that this ban is rubbish.

How can someone just wake up from nowhere and ban keke and okada without any alternative.
Let's see how Monday will be. Keep supporting nonsense.
