What do you want to know? I'm in one of the New England states and have met some students from there.

I would love to know more about their Food and Agricultural Law LLM program. Besides that, how reputable is the school for Environmental Law masters program. I have googled but I would love to hear from the perspective of a former or current student in the mentioned school.

How is the school like for an international student, is it possible to find maybe an associated law center to work while studying for stipend?
How expensive is life in Vermont?

I understand food and Agricultural Law is a specialized flied, I doubt many would be interested in, so is it a small class and do they offer funding that would cover quite a percentage of the tuition fee leaving me with just a small percentage to pay from my pocket.

Thank you.

1. Stop putting blame on Trump adminstration. US Visas has always been laced with uncertainty. Canada n Australia hv always had a much clearer path for stay after schooling. So telling people that Canada is better than US... that's old news. U just came in last year, why didn't u go to Canada instead of US?

2. You paid a lot of money to school there. You hv a huge burden to succeed. And it is natural that any news that relates to bad immigration creates a huge burden for u. But I think u are beginning to pass your personal burden on other members of the group. To your credit, u had expressly said that people who are forking out a chunk of money should look elsewhere. Thumbs up.

3. Don't let these guys push u around. They don't have the man power to run that country and can NEVER shut the door on immigrants.

I know that as Nigerians we have personally ridiculed ourselves alot more than d whites ridiculed us.

Yes, maybe Nigeria is a shit hole. But Nigeria is that shit hole that can determine whether u will wake up n still be the world power tomorrow.

Nigerians should stop all these inferiority complex and start embracing the substantial amount of power we wield in the world politics. Americans hv d data, they know we too useful to them but in their immediate economy n on their grip on world power. Most of their African venture capital dollars is tied up in Nigeria, u really think they are stupid enough to close d doors?

The same country that banned u yesterday, basically appeased u with a check of $40M a week later n called it "humanitarian aid." That should tell u how important u are.

US has never been a place for non stem students. Aside this, relax, they can push us around but they can't push u too far...they hv a lot to lose too. UK tried but they came back begging with their tail between their legs. Also don't forget it's an election year, a lot of things will be political. Media houses probably don't like d guy n they will paint up stories. If u see d free money in assistantship, grab it!

Personally I have no qualms with Canada, I even applied to 3 schools there...but I don't just think I can tolerate any more cold.

It's a bumpy ride ahead, but hang on, nothing lasts forever.

I would contact their admissions coordinator or office to link me up or shed more light on this.

Life in Vermont is cheap and don't expect diversity in the student body, the place be like village for here. Generally, you can not work outside in your first year, so expect to start working after the first year.

I understand food and Agricultural Law is a specialized flied, I doubt many would be interested in, so is it a small class and do they offer funding that would cover quite a percentage of the tuition fee leaving me with just a small percentage to pay from my pocket.

You should contact the admissions office to get this information.

I am sorry if this does not meet your expectations, but I am confident you'll get what you need from the info up there.

Even if it not lifted, immigration is very complex and the answer to many questions are known from experience. How the new ban affects AOS is not clear at this time, and whoever gets an employer for sponsorship after studies would be adjusting status and not go through consular processing.

So, the idea that all hope is lost might not necessarily apply in some situations.

Good. I had been waiting for an intelligent person who would point this out. The ban does not affect those already in the US. As a matter of fact, even for those outside the US, there is a loophole they can explore. If you want to immigrate to the US, come in on a non-immigrant visa, then, file for AOS. The US immigration system has a lot of loopholes that people are not aware of.

Please, I will like to know if it is necessary to upload a passport photograph during my ds160 application?

Or is it the same photograph taken at the embassy on the day of visa interview?

I scored 11 points less in Quant and 3 points less in verbal but was still admitted.

Moral Lesson: It doesn't affect.

Thanks for this amazing response, it’s an eye opener.

I read your post about going for MS information systems in a business school. Can you please offer some suggestions. Thanks again

I can't really suggest schools because I don't know your pocket. Am the wrong person to suggest schools that will give funding for MS Information systems because me myself is still looking for the funding even after 3 semesters here...lol

Well said, but I still advice especially if you're forking out a lot of money, go to canada instead since its immigrant friendly so you can have a seamless transition and green card in 3 years, after which you can enter USA at your will

Immigration rules changes everywhere from time to time. While at this time it might seem Canada has an easier immigration schedule, it doesn't mean it will remain as is forever. For instance, not everyone who finishes from school is able to change status because of age although if patient enough, such a person would likely get a nomination from his/her province. This is just as at the moment, how about if things changes tomorrow?

The best anyone can do is to advice and let people make their decision themselves and not make it seem one is forcing down one's opinion/advice/suggestions on others.

Good evening house
Please I have some urgent questions hoping if you can help me with some or all.
I am in the process of applying to UNT for Data Analytics, GRE is not required though .
1. Two Letter of recommendation is required , preferably at least one from an employer. I recently just started a new job and I do not want my employer to know that I plan on leaving . Please where can I get a letter from another organisation and must it have the company logo.

2. Concerning the new Visa ban , if someone eventually get a student visa. If the ban is still on after the person finishes studying , which I pray would not be so, can the person marry a citizen and not be affected by the ban since he would do change of status.

3. If after getting a student Visa, can a student defer his start date to another semester . I.e instead of August start January. And if he can ,
Would he need to do another interview again or would the Visa date just be changed after informing the school .

I will try to answer your question based on my past knowledge and experience.
You do not need put it on a letter head and you can get a senior colleague in the organization write the reference letter for you. I did the same in my time and it was accepted.

With respect to marriage, one of the things you should ask yourself is your end goal. Are you interested in the degree or you are interested in migrating? This would guide your thought however, a degree in Analytics as of today, is one that has pathways into the American system as some companies are willing to file for you if you are good at what you do.

You do not need another visa interview however, you need check with the department to be sure you can resume in January because not every program has a Spring start date. You will also need to get a new I20 from the University with a January start date.

M.B.A. Programs Rush to Add STEM Degrees
Schools try to lure more foreign students with science, tech specialties offering longer U.S. visa stays

The Wall Street Journal
By Patrick Thomas
Feb. 5, 2020 5:30 am ET

https://www.wsj.com/articles/m-b-a-programs-rush-to-add-stem-degrees-11580898601

Business schools are racing to add concentrations in science, technology, engineering and math to their M.B.A. programs as they try to broaden their appeal to prospective students overseas who want to work in the U.S.

...

A STEM degree or concentration in a field such as data analytics or management science can be particularly appealing to international students, especially those with visa worries. The designation allows foreign graduates of U.S. universities to apply for a work-authorization program that can extend their stay in the country by two additional years versus a more traditional business degree.

As much as u have a valid point,I beg to disagree with the notion that u can come here with a non-immigrant visa and adjust status which is contrary to the ban..I had a friend visit here on B1/B2 last year and at the POE,his passport was stamped in with “No AOS” inscribed on the stamp..All these brouhaha about the American Experiences,I hope to share both my pre-graduation and post graduation experience sometimes in the near future,so that the intelligent ones can decipher and make an informed decision..whichever ways u look at it,this man is making things tougher..Peace.

To use a loophole is never easy or straightforward. You most likely would need an expensive lawyer to manoeuvre..... even after all the money spent it success might not be guaranteed
