There is a little problem with your posturing. If you noticed, the only times there were ever agitations in Southern Nigeria, it had always been about peoples welfare and social justice.

From the Maitatsine riots to Boko Haram, what social justice remedy were being demanded?. Maitatsine to a large extent was also a direct challenge to established order of the northern oligarchy, and therefore had both political and religious elements.

Boko Haram on the other hand directly demands us to abdicate our embrace of western civilization and convert to Islam. See what I mean?.

However, the constitution we operate in the country today stated that Nigeria is a secular entity. Yet, some governments of this same country unilaterally declared sharia as their legal penal system in direct contravention of the constitution. These governments are all in the majority Muslim controlled states in Nigeria. Now, do you see a pattern here?.

The foregoing begs the question, why has it been difficult for our brothers in the north to see that what Nigeria urgently needs is a complete restructuring of the country along regional affiliation. That way, you can have your sharia or anything else your heart desires without infringing on the rights or liberties of anyone, or breaking the law of the land to achieve your set objective?.

I don't really know if you are being sincere or it's the usual "say A and do Z".

But I will tell you this for free. Religion is a tool in the hand of those that know how to use it. Combine religion with mass illiteracy and poverty, you will have a nuclear weapon at hand.

I will tell you this emphatically, if the northern leaders especially the NW and NC do not take drastic measures, what is happening now is just a tip of the iceberg.

For a start, north doesn't have border. The countries bordering north are among the poorest countries in the world. The fact that they are Moslims and some of them understand Hausa, they have UNRESTRICTED access to Nigeria through the north. Most northerners will even attack a fellow Nigerian from other region over these people.

There is the issue of procreation and poverty. People amass children in tens that they can never have enough resources to take care of.
