emmanuelewumi:Thanks Sir emmanuelewuni, for your reply. I merely used UPDCREIT as an illustration. What I really want to know is whether company management sometimes decide to increase or decrease the dividend they declare based on the current price of their share? Do the board of a company that has made huge profit sometimes decide to reduce dividend they declare if they think the dividend they normally ought to declare will be too much visavis the current selling price of their share? |

If its capital appreciation and depending on your funds, u might be stuck. I vowed never to trade this stock until something change in the future. The illiquid of the stock is a big issue for me. |

Topson88:Do your dividend yield (DY) calculations using the previous dividend as a guide. If you are satisfied with the DY, then you can go for the stock you want. For me, na siddon dey look till I see the trigger. |

UACN is riding on its right issue sentiment. There isn't any other trigger for the north movement with the current oil price/coronavirus etc. It's safe to advice to be careful of bidding in large quantity if you didn't buy at the 8.05/8.50 entries. If you are already inside, be content with what you have and let's see how the week ends. so that 10% 10% pipo like Loco will not come and spoil your market D; |

Topson88:See, no one will tell you when they buy until they finished buying........well, except me and very few here. ....Let me add in fairness that they can just give you the signal if you can grasp it.The oga replied you already. That you should calculate dividend yield, then go for your choice stock. The next kwesion I expect from you is how to calculate it, that's if you don't know it. Don't direct the kwesion to me oo. ![]() |

RabbiDoracle:Thanks I appreciate. I will buy half now and half if it falls and if it doesn't fall and instead keep increasing in price, I will keep my half money till August to November bear period to buy more. Like someone said it's better to lose opportunity than to lose money. ! |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Topson88: 6:16pm On Feb 11, 2020 |
Mcy56:I want to believe it involves using what the dividend declared last year to multiply the shares amount I want to buy to see if am okay with the amount. Like using N2.50k for zenith. Isn't it ![]() Modified.... Literature review shows that dividend yield is dividend divided by share price on pay day! |
