I actually heard theres too much internet restrictions in North Korea and they monitor everything people says. That their short President is really wicked there... China is just a more modern, updated, friendlier version of North Korea. They are still averse to opening up to the world. I have a Singaporean Chinese friend and we talk a lot about these issues. He tells me that China Chinese are not yet ready to open up to the world. It is a gradual process.

Some of these SM stuff we use like Facebook, Google, whatsapp, etc are all restricted there and for some they have their own versions. Lol...

It's not easy to contain a previously unknown disease that's easy to transmit, especially with the range of human movement and interactions every second of every day.

That it was so quickly identified as a novel virus is commendable. That the epicenter and prime host were also identified so quickly is amazing.

That they build 1000-bed hospitals in 6 days is remarkable

Imagine if this has happened in a third world country...by now millions would've died and tens of millions would've been infected and dying with the government unable to identify it talk more of containing it.

While I don't trust the mortality and infection numbers from the Chinese government, the fact that the virus seems to be largely confined to parts of china and slowing down is a good sign.
