The history of these placces are things of legend.

One ought to have follow the protocol when visiting olden days sites, they tell people to take off their shoes and no cameras because, firstly its considered sacred to the locals and furthermore, they wish to protect the site from deteriorating.

Its a protocol used in all protected sites around the globe.

Its normally advised to visit as a group, some stay outside holding all electronic gadgets whilst the first group goes in and vice versal.

Personally, these are the reasons for visiting these type of countries.

When ever one visits any country that has olden days sites of high historical significance to the specifics of that region, the best thing one can does is visit these places take in spectacle and share the experience.

Although, i appreciate if you dont care for world history.

That said, its indicative that we concentrate our focus on our own history.

in india alone, there are one million FAMOUS temples and parks, gardens, historic sites.... you should never miss anyone of them. for sure.

only banal people choose to visit so-called renowned places suggested by guide books. if op is not a free-thinker and a fiecely independent traveler, he would not even take up a train pilgrimmage, instead he would sit at home being a troll.

From the thread so far, it appears the OP is not in India to visit the tourist sites but to traverse the country by train.

So I don't think it should be a problem unless I'm missing something @Amujale. Perhaps you feel he was disrespectful? Besides, he said he was not in a group, it might be rather difficult to do the camera thing.

The person with the threads on Greece was travelling as a tourist and visiting tourist sites, therefore this topic is different from that one. The OP here is checking out the average everyday India (I believe).

Has anyone ever heard of the southernmost part of the country, which should be somewhere in the SS, but of course nothing about it is known to the public.

And nobody could try to visit the place because it would likely be in a restive area (meaning unsafe ) and even if not, visitors wont be welcomed.
