That's 29 people per state. Imagine the population of people expecting per state. 29 isn't so much. Many people are bound to be dissapointed tbh

First of all, a hearty congratulations to the successful few here. I must say, i am quite impressed with the way a lot of individuals who were not successful are handling the situation maturely. Know this for a fact, it is never the end of the world. Where there is life, there is hope. And do know what your best friend would be now? TIME. It heals all wounds. A lot of seemingly brilliant minds here will go further and do a lot of exploits., this i know. With determination, hard work and prayers, you will look back at this thread some years from now and laugh saying 'Is this really the job i was so obsessed about' There are circa 20-30 companies in Nigeria that are miles better than NNPC in terms of pay, allowances, career growth et al. Heck some of you would even be great entrepreneurs that would partner with NNPC on major contracts in the future. So cheer up, life continues and someday this will all be part of a success story.

Like all job threads here on nairaland, less than 10% of the populace almost usually succeed until the end. I;d expect the same for the EHs. I know a lot of EHs are currently engaged and the disappointment on missing out may not be highly felt like the GTs. I wish the EHs recruitment comes to a positive conclusion and it is handled maturely the way the GTs did. Regardless of the outcome, life is beautiful and pleasant to those who see it as such. I hope someday, every sees it as such.

Sorry to read this but permit me to tell you that interview panels sometimes would not want to shatter your confidence immediately. They cheer you up even when you're undoing.
I had a similar experience 3 years ago at KPMG's final interview but if you ask me, all I will say is I did well because the man kept smiling and nodding. But deep down, I might just be entertaining him without necessarily meeting up the requirements in his checklist.
Fast forward to now, I'm so grateful to God for not allowing the process to be successful else I will be totally astray for a meager salary.
In a nutshell, stay focused and do not use human expressions to judge your performance. Cheers

makes a lot of sense if we are being honest. Also considering the fact that the recruitment is not really a general field one but majorly for their refineries, so engineering and sciences graduates were heavily favored over other fields. 25 people per state isn't much at all. I'm sure there are atleast 500 people from each state expecting. So really it's clear. Even here not up to 50 people got or said they got.

As much as I’d love to receive email on Monday cos even my connect kept wondering how my name wasn’t on the list as he/she monitored the recruitment closely on my behalf, I seriously doubt that an organization that could send out interview invite to allegedly over 9000 people at once would have issues sending to 1050 people in a day (however late in the day it was). For my sake and many others I pray public service laziness made them send the notifications in batches because it was late in the day on Friday, but in reality I’m pretty sure they sent to all already.

How I missed this opportunity remains a mystery to me as I’m not an average candidate and I believe my interview went very well and my connect should have been the final nail to sealed the deal but oh well, Allah knows best.

I never relied on my performance I knew from onset that getting apl is a 50/50 chance. My field(IT) is highly competitive, I'm from Oyo state again. If they are taking 25 candidates from Oyo can we have up to 2 candidates with IT degree.

Quota system landed a great blow on my many of us, all the same we are not failures we are still victors, it is you that will determine ur greatness not the organization u work with. I have never worked as a regular staff under any organization yet I can count my blessings.

Motivation speakers plenty for here o. Do you know that many unemployed/underemployed graduates in Nigeria are not financially buoyant to even go for an interview let alone of Masters. You expect them to still be a burden on their parents? For your information, many of their parents are already senior citizens/retirees. More so, șe omo nikan wón wáyé wá sìn ni?

Please do pick up bro, I have also been frustrated like you, I have travelled for tests and interviews so much that I don't tell my family members about it anymore. I wanted to quit, but I met a senior in late 2017 who encouraged me to keep trying, he will send me job adverts and everything, I kept trying, I left teaching and struggled my way back to engineering. I kept leaving my comfort zone and learning, this was actually my last shot at a GT job because of my age and then APL showed.

The senior who encouraged me also had a similar experience,but just between 2018 and now, he had worked for GE and now in TOTAL. Bottom line is never give up, I will advise you to get a masters degree to boost the age requirement. NEVER GIVE UP BRO

Sorry bro ...let me try to paint a little picture of what might have happened from what I gathered..which collaborated with some of the things napo2012 said....so after the interviews, recommendations were made to the recruitment committee and they compiled list towards ending August/beginning of September ...but there were rumors that the list compiled some ppl who didn’t pass the cbt were included coupled with some small issue d Gmd had had with Group Hr when he was still ...Ggm so they suspended the recruitment ...because of integrity of the process ... they were later told towards middle or end of September to clean up the list since they couldn’t cancel as a lot had been spent...so by first week in October there was a final final list which ur name might have been included...it was just waiting the necessary approvals..though they focused on other things ...some time in November they took the list upwards and there was some complain of balance ...from powers that be ....and Gmd just brought it back now to Hr not recruitment committee again..to find a way to balance it ..which was when a lot of the reshuffling was done ...a lot of names fell out....then to balance in some states they just took some top performing ppl in that state not really minding the course since they ‘ll still be trained....a lot of ppl didn’t know that the recruitment committee selection list which was supposed to be the major final selection wasn’t final as it still underwent some major surgery by Hr..since they were trying to rush..which was Napolitano2012 said his contact asked for his bosses nephew details again...around ending nov/dec ..after this was done ..some few tweaks here and there were done ..which done brought forward this list...though what I wasn’t sure about was how Hr ..removed and added and if u recall Napolitano2012 said a lot of ppl would get this based on luck....this was d little I gathered though

Yes, but I am thinking the 3 weeks induction would be done in March or April. I don't know sha just a guess.

Although i was among the lucky ones my friend that we have been hustling together hasn’t gotten its mixed feelings for me...I’m extremely delighted at the same thing when i think of him I become sad again....i hope by Monday everything becomes clearer....Fingers crossed for those still expecting.....God bless ����

Contract staff that did the interview will likely the have upper hand. Just my opinion.
