So far his viral load is low, you're safe but if you're still scared, you could go to the hospital. I work with fhi360 that's how I know it's fine. We have couples that are still safe and having kids with their spouses having the virus because they have low viral load. Let's end the discrimination, they are humans too.

If he is taking his ART judiciously and you are sure that his viral load is truly undetectable when you guys mated, then you have nothing to worry about because he cannot infect you with the virus.

But wait till after 6 months before you go for a HIV test to confirm.

PREP have side effects, it is not also healthy on the kidney, take it with caution.

BTW, you are really strong-willed to carry on with him despite knowing his status, I commend you for that because everybody deserves to be loved.....honestly ladies are stronger than men, because 99.99% of men won't dare what ladies do no matter the condition attached.

The guy you quoted is right; discrimination is different from spreading the problem. It is recommended that HIV positive people marry HIV+ positive people too; that is why they have a community for them to socialize and mingle too. It is never recommended for a HIV+ person to willingly marry a HIV- person; that's spreading and multiplying the virus.

The discrimination being preached about is in job opportunities, politics, equal opportunity to survive economically and forge a normal life, not in the area of a negative person willingly getting married to a positive person for some selfish reasons, not advisable at all

What are you saying? The person's viral load is low for crying out loud, we aren't talking of people with high viral load!! I'm not saying you should marry someone with a high viral load but one whose viral load is undetectable because of its low. I don't know if you understand me. And do you know the stigma these people have aside other stuff you mentioned? They should have the chance to also have a family so far their viral loads are low.

Ma'am what I'm saying is that there are no guarantees. Low viral load is not a guarantee of not being infected.

And where there are no guarantees and the lives of both mother and child are at risk wisdom and common sense simply demands people seek other options especially when there are billions of options available.

This is the simple logic behind why sickle cell carriers and the likes are forbidden to marry a fellow carrier. Because there's a risk, a tendency.

She's not gon die if she doesn't marry him. There are a billion other healthy lovable men available.

Why put an innocent unborn child at risk.
