This Endemic Evil has to stop in this country,
You hardly hear of cooking gas explosion in western or developed economy oversees..

You would see all these local gas cylinder dealers painting and refurbishing expired gas cylinders just to make wicked profit.
Once a gas cylinder is used for 5yrs max, it should be changed to new one. BUY NEW ONE, but then how do you know a new cylinder when the dealers are busy painting old and expired cylinders.
That is the physical cause or aspect of it.
The Spiritual cause of it is between The Victim, The Perpetrator and God Almighty.

Yes! A blessed way of facing reality and calling on God for help.

Put ALL GAS cylinders far away from your cooker when it is being used, and please ensure that your kitchen is well ventilated always (i.e. windows are always open). You can also install a small gas detector in your kitchen which can detect gas leaks, and give off an alarm if gas escapes from the cylinder or cooker. undecided

Always ensure your valves are properly fitted and the pipe/hose does not leak. Get a technician to service your burner like once a quarter to ensure that all the soot and grime is removed from the burner so that nothing disturbs the free flow of air.

Finally, get a good fire extinguisher in your kitchen with a clear indicator gauge showing the level of foam or extinguisher material in the cylinder, and learn how to use it in case of an emergency! wink

Oh and my best friend mum was electrocuted to death with this same electric cooker in 2018. Put it in ur mind ur wife Ur wife is not in any way safe assured with that stove or electric cooker

If you are using manual gas cooker, please make sure u strike your lighter before turning on the gas on. This simple mistake can cause fire in the kitchen.
Please let your lighter be on before the gas comes out.

If the lighter goes off after turning the gas on, please turn the gas off, wait for at least 30 seconds before turning ur lighter on again, then the gas.

If you can, buy automatic self lighting gas cooker.

It is also important to note that since the huge demand for cooking gas started, the quality of gas cylinder, burners and accessories must be questioned.

There are a lot of sub-standard cylinder regulators in the market out there.

They are sold not by the devil but by Nigerians like you and i.

When these regulators fail, you will not know in time and a good quantity of gas will have leaked out to the immediate environment.

Since the cylinder is in the kitchen, that will be the immediate environment.

It just takes the right amount of heat to generate an explosion.

But if the cylinder is kept outside, when gas leaks , it just disperses into the larger environment.
