At this point I realized that my opinion about Nigeria (my country) is a problem to you. I will stop talking about Nigeria to please you if that will make you happy no wahala.

No interview updates? A friend wants to renew but needs a general idea of what's happening in the embassy.

It's the same old love song.

Your friend should note that her/his interview is independent of others, in order not to put undue mental pressure on his/her psyche.

Interviews and decision are on individual's merit

Please don't stop talking to please anyone else opinion.

Can an appointment be changed from Abuja to Lagos and if possible ;what is the procedure?

I hope this is your first time of doing it? if so just change Abuja to Lagos from the profile/scheduling website and look for appropriate date in Lagos, you can only cancel your interview date once.

I failed to renew my visiting visa during the drop box era, so i had to schedule an appointment to be interviewed. While I was waiting in-line for my turn, I couldn't help but over hear the visa officers asking applicants why they had over-stayed a previous visit and immediately refuse to renew their visa despite coming back to Nigeria after 2 to 5 months. Reality struck when it got to my turn and I was asked the same question after staying 3 months.
Please I will like to know if anybody has experienced this too and scaled through despite staying longer than you applied for. Thank you

At this stage, if that is what will prevent me from rolling in the mud I will do it, but my opinion that Nigeria is no where near UAE, South Africa and Doha before Pres. Buhari became the President still stand, I don't know the man from Adam but even if my enemy is the President of Nigeria, I have no choice than to support and work towards the greatness of this country because I have no other choice anyway, at this stage I will desist from any political chit chat on this forum and focus solely on why this forum was created, to assist and provide an enabling environment for applicant interested in applying for U.S Non-Immigrant visa with the intention of returning to Nigeria after getting the visa and visiting U.S.
May God help me.

Great guy, that's my man.

To be honest, NL is the last place I normally would want to discuss politics, and this thread shouldn't even be the place at all. The challenge is that I can't just stand and be mute where the product Buhari is being promoted unnecessarily or worst still being exonerated!

This paragraph was supposed to be for me to say "I'm sorry" to you, it's not flowing, because the difference we have has to do with Buhari, the man who promised heaven but delivered hell, the one who finally run Nigeria and Nigerians aground with emptiness, primordial sentiment, ethnic chauvinism, nepotism, etc. See what securing visa has become of us as a nation worldwide these past few years, it was never and has never been this bad! Insecurity at its peak cry.... Now, I'm getting overly emotional.

See desperation and hunger everywhere my brother. Do you know we will all have a feel of its effect? Seye, my big Odogwu Thermocool generator was stolen and sold off for peanut by a former banker and one miscreant in my hood, if you see the CCTV footage and the suffer the guys went through to get it over the fence, you'd weep. Couldn't help letting them go because of his young family. I visited 5 different states in the US on this my last trip, one thing was common amongst our people there, the pressure from home has increased astronomically, a lot have resorted to move from avoiding calls from Naija to blocking friends and relatives on the various communication platforms just to keep their sanity. It's that bad!

I'm following you to do same sir, you are a dear friend I met on here and cherish much, I'm really sorry if I got on your wrong side, pretty sorry, sincere apologies. MAY NIGERIA BE GREAT!

That's just an excuse to reject you.

A friend with 4 US Visa was also rejected cos he visited and stayed for a month. Told me he was asked why he stayed for a month despite having 6 months stamped on his passport.

Even if you stayed for 1 week, they will find another excuse to take you down.

Embassy just using excuses to knock people off.

Agreed that it seems the Americans are gone somehow almost "amok" with us. Why not bother at least asking him why he stayed that long in the US and what he did there all that time he spent? There are things before now you just wouldn't want to do with your US visa in order to give yourself a chance at renewal, it's worse off now, the smallest mistake signals the end of the journey as things stand currently, sadly!

URGENT!!!
Good day everyone here. I must I've heard so much about this forum and how it has been of help. Please permit me to go straight to the point.

My wife is a student in America and we're expecting our first baby by May by God's grace. She is staying with her uncle who lives in Maryland. I want to visit around the time of delivery.

I don't know how to apply for interview. I don't know if i can still get a date in March in Lagos for the interview. How much is visa fee now?

Please i need answers to these questions and much more. I need directions.
I am new to this forum and i would be glad if this is responded to.

Thanks in advance

Normal routines he has been doing. Travels when on leave, meet old friends. Not like it's is 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th time he does that.

Why he could be denied based on the fact that he spent one month baffles me despite his travel history. A detail statement or accusation would have just clarified that.

But heard is the norm now, they just look the slightest excuse and bounce one off.

My little advice
Apply for F2
Visa fee is 59k
Your wife has to request for I.20 for you from her school international office, if you decide to use F2

Oh, was actually talking of the person you responded to that did 3 months in the US.

I however think too that your own friend falls into the bracket of "the smallest mistake signals the end of the journey" class. Not a good one all the same, a proper transcript would at least guide methinks....

She can help you fill the ds160 and booking confirmation, but make sure she take note of everything she is filling on the forms, so wen ask on the interview day, your response should tally with what she fill online. She will send you a pdf file to print out for your interview. Search for F2 visa interview questions and practice well. Wish you all the best.

Good day all, i plan to travel to the U.S with my wife in December for 2weeks vacation. I am self employed and my wife is an engineer working with an engineering firm and we intend staying at a cousin's place during the vacation. Please what are our chances of getting a visa, when is the most appropriate time to apply and is there any document my cousin can provide that can increase our chances? Thank you

How did your wife do her own F1 application in the first place. Or didn't your wife apply for F1 to start school
Isnt she the person to tell you what to do?

When a foreigner is staying longer, he/she is monitored from where he/she is getting money for to stay, what he/she is doing, where he/she is calling and with whom he/she is in contact. No need to inform you what our Intelligence services see but the next time you apply for the US visa, the embassy knows everything.

Na lie. Monitor how much a foreign spends, where they get money to spend, who they calling. How's that even possible? If it is, they will pick somebody up and send them home after they have overstayed. The ones who are there sef, how can u track them??
