Hello everyone!
I need help urgently
i picked up my redmi note 5 some mins ago and noticed it was turned off then i tried turning it back on and it has been stucked on the mi.com logo for over 45mins.
i tried rebooting yet nothing.... i followed a youtube instruction that said to press down the volume up + power button each time i do this, its still stuck at the logo.. the phone wouldnt turn off or on just at the logo.......

please how do i fix this? cos this is my work phone and can barley do anything im stuck!!!

I tried porting from Android pie wit gapps to Android 10 with gapps on AOSP custom rom but it's not going past d MI logo. is anyone here having d same issh??

Are you sure the zip file of the android 10 rom you downloaded is not corrupted?

That might be the reason.

Also, some gapps can cause that. What type of gapps did you flash?

Wipe everything except internal memory or follow the installation guide given by the dev

And if it doesn't come with gapps, boot the phone first before installing gapps or magisk

Doesn't matter. If it hangs on mi logo, the probably cause is a corrupted zip file. Doesn't matter where you downloaded from.

Use z archiver or 7 zip to test of the zip file is okay or not.

It might be custom ROM you re trying to flash. Gapps can cause this kind of issue. Follow what grandmufti told you; you might need to download non gapp ROM, and download a separate gapp to install afterwards. The gapps might be useful and save data when you consider changing roms

Please i have a custom Rom installed on my phone and would like to change the rom to another one. How do i backup my Applications and data so i can retrieve when i install the new rom. Thanks

You'll need to use either Titanium backup Pro or migrate app (the alpha version).

Search @OlayinkaSnr so I can give you the migrate app. The one that works.

Oh okay thanks. I have the Migrate App already now and I already marked everything up for backup. Once the backup is done and i wipe my phone data and all in Recovery mode, how would i then recover the backups since the Migrate App wouldn't be on phone already by then.

Hope it's not the one you downloaded from play store. If it is, search for @OlayinkaSnr on telegram so I can give you the one that works.

Once you backup your apps, the migrate app will create a zip of your backups that can be flashed via recovery. Move that zip to your SD card.

After that, wipe everything and flash your ROM. After flashing the ROM, boot up and reboot to recovery and then flash the backup zip.

Once flashed, boot your phone to system again. You'll get a notification from migrate helper, click it and you'll follow the prompt to restore your apps.

Yeah, you are right migrate alpha 2 works. If your twrp doesn't have encryption issue, you don't have problem.
