I don't Know why the government in Nigeria cannot purchase 1,000 units of ARA MRAP APC, and 1,000 units of Ezugwu MRAP APC.

All this war games going on across Africa isn't bad at all o, i keep seeing weapons we need on the north east. Today's South Africa and tomorrow's Algeria then the next Morroco. It wouldn't be bad to waste all those ammunitions on boko haram in the name of collaborative war games where we pay for the transport and the load the bombs on boko haram locations. grin grin grin

no way should Nigeria allow such, all these outsiders will come, tear your towns and cities down, then borrow you money 10yrs down the line to rebuild, never mind the interest rate.
how's that working out in Libya or Iraq, never let anyone come into your country and start dropping bombs.
if the Nigerian govt can't handle bh, then we have no business being an independent nation.
then very soon they will tell you, 'hey, i think we saw some more terrorists in the Niger delta region', let's drop some more there as well, then they will offer to help you secure your oil pipelines, and inch by inch you get occupied lol grin grin grin
they will turn that small conflict into a large one. no f'ing way

What is the use of armour?

Except against machine guns and ak-47 fire, they don't seem to protect against anything else.

This is Syria.

Even a le Clerc needs to be properly deployed-smth the Saudis still haven't realised. IIRC,I've seen a captured Emirati le Clerc. Officially, actually according to https://lostarmour.info/yemen/ they and their allies have lost over 900 MRAPs!? If you've seen them in combat you'd not be surprised, though.

Edit: here's the pic. Even the US admit the Saudi crypto Zionists are hopeless!
“If the RSAF benefits from American support, in the form of advice in the field of targeting, the practice of Close Air Support (CAS) is recent and appears poorly understood by these crews,” the document says

Look how much effing money they spend!?
Hundreds of Black Hawks,Hueys,Apaches and Cougars and CAS is still a mystery-WATF!

Republic of Guinea. Special Forces

Guinean spec ops? It cost up to 30x more to train a true operator-the live ammo, attrition rate, higher end personal kit eg,3000$ SCAR Hs,flights to Israel,Russia and other first world training facilities and support elements, insertion choppers,ATvs etc,etc all ramp up the cost enormously. Btw,the training never ends. Even after qualifying the specops guys continue training lest their skills rust.

“These guys are a national treasure,” he said. “In my day, it cost an average of $1 million to train a special forces soldier. Now it probably costs closer to $1.5 million, and you don’t waste that asset. You use them judiciously when you really need them.”
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/09/25/us/special-ops-retro.html

Wiki says these guys have only a reinf. battalion of ancient T 55s and PT 76s. Who would properly support the Guinean pipe hitters? Is such a unit even a priority over a properly equipped conventional force? I think not.

The conflict in Syria continues to evolve, as we have seen in Idlib, Russia, Syria and Iran on one side against Turkey, Al-qeada allies on the other side.

Each side with heavy armour. What this particular conflict especially the recently failed attack by Turkey and Al-Qeada on the town of Al-Nayrab in Idlib shows that armour as a stand alone assets is not effective especially when your opponent has round the clock aerial surveillance and significant air power.

I was thinking that with all the armour the Turkey side has, they would be able to defeat the Syria+Russia side, irrespective of the Air Power on the Syria+Russia side.

Although these are still early days, but we have to wait and see.

I don't quite agree with this.

I think having a small well trained, well equipped force is better for Guinea, especially when you take into account that they would be backed by French air power.

They would be more effective than a large poorly equipped force.

Ok
(1)Both vehicles are newly inducted
(2)Non of the company is able of producing up to 500 vehicles per annum
(3) They are still under observation and testimonies are already coming out of them.Which means there's going to be additional procurement..

Did you know how South Africa managed to have such large amount of armoury.

Dude, they've lost at least 20 Leo 2A4s to the Kurds since 2016!

ISIS claimed it destroyed 10 of the Leopard 2 tanks, dubbed invincible in some quarters, and while the terror group's estimates are regularly exaggerated, analysis of fighting around al-Bab in Syria puts the figure at 'at least eight'. Pictured: The remnants of one of the German-built tanks as shown in a January 20, 2017 Isis video recorded near al-Bab. It was reportedly blown up by a mine. In the background is a destroyed Kobra armoured personnel carrier

Here's a vid with explanation of the same pic.

A female YPG blows up a Leo 2 with maybe a Konkurs-immediate penetration and complete destruction!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YafzmkvVRiI

Patton M-60s have fared even worse!

In August this year, Turkish M60A3 and M60T poured over the border in support of allied rebels as part of Operation Euphrates Shield, first chasing ISIS out of the town of Jarablus without a fight and then attacking Kurdish militias. Kurdish fighters knocked out several M60s with long-range missiles, inflicting the first Turkish casualties in the intervention..... By now it is believed at least eleven Turkish Pattons have been destroyed in Syria.

So,after all sorts of problems with bare arsed jihadists they should confront an experienced combined army, the Russians? Here's the 2.5 MT KA 52 loadout of 30 mm,80 mm rockets,Vikhr AT ,of which they have 4,not to mention 6 Mi 28s.

Erdogan is a special type of genius but I doubt he'd be dumb enough to deliberately provoke the Russian bear in Syria-I doubt his army would let him!

I disagree. Turkey has an extremely formidable force currently on station in Idlib. The only thing that's currently keeping the Turks at bay is Russia's air superiority in N Syria. The only things the Turks currently lack are air defences which they seem poised to address. Air security for the Turks in Idlib would dramatically tip the balance in their favour as we saw in Nayran a few days ago

Thing is specops aren't designed for traditional warfare and need to be supported by conventional forces.

“The partnership between conventional and special operations forces is stronger than ever.”1

- Honorable Michael D. Lumpkin, Assistant Secretary of Defense for
Special Operations/Low-Intensity Conflict, March 18, 2015

https://cco.ndu.edu/PRISM-6-3/Article/1020999/special-operations-forces-and-conventional-forces-integration-interoperability/

Here's an often real world example of their usage. A 12 man section of the Guinean specops tracks a coy sized unit of rebels to the SL/Liberia border. After committing a massacre of some 50 innocents in the interior they're now relaxed on the very doorstep of their rear bases. What to do?
-engage with your 1 mn$ trained operators?
-call the Su 25s/L159s/Hinds
-call in a conventional motorised unit to destroy them

But,your guys aren't supermen contrary to what the media would tell us and you have no air apart from extremely limited lift of 4 Y-12s and your ancient serviceable armour could never make it to the scene in time. Familiarise yourself with Jean-Fraude's misdeeds in Africa including sponsorship of BH and the Sahel jihadists. Ask the Ivorians who was behind their civil war. They're extremely unreliable as allies and in the real world everyone has their own agenda-nobody will fight for you out of altruism!

A proper conventional force is a prerequisite for any true specops-the former precedes the latter.

Here where you get it wrong. You still see spec ops through the prism of cold war lens. Today US special ops team number close to 75,000 men.

Today's special ops teams are primarily counterterrorism teams. In Nigeria we have the AFSF and MSF leading conventional attacks and backed by the rest of the army.

I'm not referring to long range reconnaissance teams.

As we can see special forces in Turkey, Russia, and America. They are heavily armed, heavily armoured with the support of significant air power.
