This a good plan but it is not entirely true.

Firstly, you are not required to show proof for the entire duration of your program. You only need to show proof for 1year only, then show the source of the funds. Not all colleges are cheaper than the universities in their yearly tuition.
Example:
The college in brandon, manitoba (ACC)charges about 14-16k for tuition. The university charges about 12-18k depending on your degree.
So your primary focus should be on securing that with a lower yearly tuition.

Secondly, depending on your type of degree, obtaining a USA degree may make things more difficult for you if you intend to remain in Canada. This is because when you bring that degree back to canada(mostly for professional courses requiring licensing) you would be regarded as an international graduate and face the same trouble like you schooled in Nigeria or Europe.
@ 1st bolded; I recommend for those would-be international student to do their research very well, before choosing a college. Factors such as tuition, rent, transportation should be taking into account while making that choice. I know most folks want to go where they will see their fellow compatriots for obvious reasons, but you'll be amazed at what advantages awaits you when you venture into unknown territory. The colleges and universities in some provinces are cheaper than others in another province. One has to just google and compare. For example, schooling in a place like Toronto is now very expensive, because of the costs of rent and transportation e.t.c, while in a province like New Brunswick, it's going to be cheaper in the long term, because of cheaper rent, lower cost of transport, et.al.

@ 2nd bolded, it's not usually so for the case if you studied in the USA. Take professional courses like nursing/medicine as example, it far easier Canadian nurse/doctor to get into working in the US than someone who studied from a different continent who like you rightfully pointed out, will have to go through series of regulatory exams before they can practise their profession. Not saying that if you studied a professional course in the US, you don't get to write any exam before you're allowed to practise in Canada, you do, but it's not as stringent as for others. Anyway, most people working in professional field make more money in the US by far, pay less taxes and I don't think going to work in Canada is ever in their mind, rather it's the other way around, but I get your drift. I say these things from my personal experience.

Good day house.
Please I was rejected on the 29th February but I haven’t gotten any refusal email telling me why I was rejected. I applied through the paper route but later linked my application online. Please how long does it take to get the refusal email?
I plan to reapply soon so I need it.

Worry about that really.

From trends it takes about 4 days. Was it college or university?

Where you called for medicals or did upfront?

When did you also apply?

Sorry for the numerous questions

Okay
vickyehi:

Dont be discouraged. As long as you can find someone to give you a statement of account, then you are golden.

Truthfully, I had less than what you have right now when I decided to start. I also didn't have up to that available for my spending when I arrived.

So you would still survive if you apply yourself and have a good spending culture.

@oilyngbati please can you provide list of cheap colleges outside Ontario.
Also, what is the way forward for a 36yrs old (Bsc mathematics with cgpa 4.2/5.0)...

Try checking out colleges in Atlantic provinces like Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC)
College of the North Atlantic in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Also google 2 year colleges in the following provinces: Quebec, New Brunswick, Saskatchewan.

As someone with a background in Math, have you considered the federal express entry program or the provincial nominee program (PNP)? There is a huge shortage in math and science teachers in North America, and this shortage is projected to get worse in the next 10-20 yrs. You may want to give it a try.

Thank you boss... Much appreciated.

I even wanna give up on Canada jare. Processing German schools now...

Hello JosephYemsol,

I understand your plight but German study visa isn't as rosy as it may seem or heard. The admissions process can be more frustrating than Canada and get an AD for visa interview is now a long thing let alone qualifying for CAT. A (priority).

Well, its always good to have a backup plan. Its well.

All the best.

The VO’s usually look at your resumption date when checking through applications. I’m sure they’re intentionally not giving you a decision or update yet because they do not want you to have your visa so early since you’re to resume in September for study.
But still, you can contact them just to be on the safe side.

Hello Fam!

This is just to encourage people on this platform and to thank God for making everything work out together for my good.

My Canadian Study Permit Application was approved in less than 14 days. My timeline can only be God!

This is my first application.

Admission: 18th December 2019
Upfront medical: 16th January 2020
Application submitted: 26th January 2020
Biometrics completed: 4th February 2020
Background check: 4th February 2020
Medical passed: 6th February 2020
Eligibility review: 7th February 2020
Original passport request: 8th February 2020
Passport collected: 26th February 2020.

I was extremely scared to check my IRCC account when I received a mail from them on Saturday morning, 8th February, 2020. In fact, I spoke to my Sister over the phone to inform her of the mail and that I was certain it was a rejection mail, but she encouraged me to check it.

I must confess, the application process was really stressful for me, but I am grateful to God for this pleasant surprise.

Program: Postgraduate Certificate
School: College
Resumption: Fall 2020
Marital status: Single
Age: 31
Course: Unrelated to my undergraduate program
Travel history: Nil

Finance: paid half of my tuition through:
a. Self sponsorship and
b. Financial support from my Family friend (I
attached evidence for both payments).
c. Living expenses: Mutual funds (self sponsorship).I
have maintained the account with funds in it for
more than 7 months.

Resources for my application:
I dedicated time to do adequate research on:
1. IRCC website
2. Nairaland (I know it could be challenging to go
through all the threads on Nairaland but, whenever
I get tired of reading long posts, I just select the
"Find in Page" on the right-hand hand side of my
browser to search for the particular word I need,
then it gives me all the words in the post
highlighted in yellow. This limits the things I need
to read.)
2. You tube videos
3. Google search

Letter of explanation:
I started writing my letter of explanation before I received my Letter of Acceptance from the School.

I criticized and edited my Letter of Explanation several times. I also gave my siblings to edit for me.

I have learnt a lot on this forum and I want to appreciate all the gurus here, particularly @frankrobbn and @justmellow etc for their contributions.

@justmellow, I don't know if you remember me, I reached out to you to assist me review my Letter of Explanation sometimes in January, but you were not available due to personal engagements. Your past posts were really helpful, thank you so much.

I will like to specially thank @Bertram87 for going through my Letter of Explanation and for the few tips. May God bless you.

I wish everyone all the best in their application.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding"

NB
Please I need clarification on this:

The "validity date" and "Must enter Canada by" on my "Port of Entry Letter of Introduction" are the same. I am confused on these two dates.

Can someone please shed some light on two dates please @frankrobbn and @justmellow.

Thank you.

Hello Zoeeee,

This is an exciting news. Please, accept my huge congratulations. Go forth and prosper. I apologize for not been able to vet your letter and I am glad you find my posts insightful.

To the bolded, in a layman term, it means you should endeavour to enter Canada within the stated date/validity on the letter. However, that shouldn't be a major problem if the counterfoil on your PP is still valid.

All the best

You don't need to show any proof of finance for CAQ.Complete the CAQ form, attach a passport photo, photocopy of ur international passport and admission letter .The proof of finance will be done during study permit application.

THANK YOU but excerpt from the official Quebec provincial government website says ---- "To obtain the Minister’s consent to stay in Québec as a foreign student, you must demonstrate that you have sufficient financial resources to cover tuition fees, transportation expenses (round trip from your country of origin), settling-in expenses in the first year (C$500) and living expenses for the entire duration of your stay." here --> http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/en/immigrate-settle/students/obtaining-authorizations/requirements/financial-capacity.html

Ok sir. What if he decides to transfer the cash into my account. I will get the bank statement and take it to embassy? What if he also gives me his personal and company bank statement. He may not have much in his personal account like he will in his company account.

Best move is to transfer money into your account and show as proof of fund.. don't use a company 's bank statement.. it won't fly....
