Sis, based on what I've learnt here, whether the baby bears her (the mum's) family name or the said father have never been in the picture from day one as you put it, are not even relevant in this EE journey. What's relevant is, as long as there's a biological father figure in that child's life and he's alive, the mum must not only bring this plan of traveling with the child to Canada to the dad's knowledge but she must also get his consent, except she has full custody legally. She needs to get that sorted out first!

Hello all,

There’s a single mom who’s interested in this PR journey but her only concern is how to scale through any difficulty arising from being a single parent. Her child’s bears her family name because the baby daddy was never in the picture from day one.

So question is, can she apply anyway, and what does she need to do to avoid issues with her application?

Thank you very much. All my documents have been submitted for almost a month but I'm yet to get a "confirmation of receipt" mail. How do you suggest I proceed?

So question is, can she apply anyway, and what does she need to do to avoid issues with her application?

1. Ask this question on Kubeir Immigration page on Facebook. They will have better legal advise.

2. As for me, I would get a birth certificate that omits the father's name showing he was never in the picture.

3. I think after this, gather the documentation and submit to IRCC. If they need more details they will ask.

To boost the application, try to get some evidence showing that you tried to contact him. Try to get some form of paper trail (send emails, use linkedin etc) stating that you contacted the father and got no response. This shouldn't be hard considering the man is not in her life.

While the documents are with IRCC, try to get some documentation from a Nigerian court showing that he has never been the child's legal guardian and he has relinquished all rights to the child. IRCC might ask, and they might not ask. It will be safer to be running it in the background. A family lawyer might be able to help with this. If he never shows up in court to contest this, a judge might grant it in absentia (Again, see a family lawyer. This is from my own little knowledge).

The case might end up in Accra but I don't think it's impossible.

Please I really need someone to help out on the way forward about this

From my experience, if you operate a current & savings account on same card and your current account isn't funded, you might have issues. Preferably, you can contact your bank!

No you don't. WES does not require NECO/WAEC anymore. Your highest qualification, MSc, is the only document to be evaluated.

Does that mean one should only send the highest qualification?

Hello house.
Does WES still mandate waec/neco as a required document? I intend evaluating just my msc. is it possible?
thanks

Hello Gurus.

A friend of mine has CIPM certification (Associate) plus B.Sc. Should she select "two or more certificates, diplomas or degrees" under educational qualification and send both to WES for evaluation?

In other word, Would WES evaluate CIPM certification and what level of education does it qualify for in calculating CRS score?

Hello house
In anticipation of receiving ITA tomorrow , i need some clarification.
- I had worked for 4years with the NOC i used for my profile and later went to the uk for my masters but since i came back mid last year i have been doing some IT(programming) courses (UPDATED MY LINKEDIN seeking IT internship/vacancy ) which is different from my previous NOC
- on the side i started selling cars to keep body and soul together till i get a job till date.(opened instagram page but the business name is not yet registered)

My question is do i need to provide a letter of explanation stating my recent activities after my Msc and why my LinkedIn profile is showing "seeking IT internship" which is not the same as my stated NOC

Ideally, you should have your previous work experience on the history part of your LinkedIn profile. Also, an LOE is not a bad idea - to fulfil all righteous and avoid unnecessary ADR of Schedule A form. Cheers

Doesn't matter whether or not you've switched careers. So long you've got proper proof for the job experience you are claiming, you'd be just fine.
