Hi all,
I am about to apply for a UK visit visa with my wife to attend my sister's birthday.

She will take care of our accommodation and upkeep

I work for a hospital and they agreed to sponsor our flights.

However I am worried about several large deposits in my account. The account also shows regular salary payments from the Hospital.

Please house, will the deposit cause a denial of the visa?
If so, How do I get the visa approved?

Your query does not contain enough info to adequately provide you an answer. You just said there are large deposits in your account which are not from your salary although your salary shares the same account with the large deposits. The answer to your question is hence Yes and No. We do not know what the large deposits are for and the value range.

The large deposits may or may not have impact on your application but best way forward is to avoid what would warrant unending explanations. If the large deposits are justifiable, meaning if you can prove the origin or the source, then you must include documented evidence of such. However, do some good to tell the house what the deposits are or were for and whether they can be traced to an origin, then you would have better responses here.

Why will your work place agree to pay for your flight ?
Would going to attend your sisters birthday benefit the hospital ?
Think about these two questions if it’s reasonable to anyone ok

You and your wife travelling right? what’s your travel history, also any kids or parent as family tie ?
If there’s a large sum in your account better rerun the account.

Large deposit is from rent on my property in a highbrow area.

A paid vacation was part of my terms for employment. I am a 52yr old General Practitioner.
Travel history. Just Dubai.
We have 4 kids aged 11 to 19 years.
Have letter from nanny. Going for 10 days.

How do I re-run the account? Thanks

Well, this could serve as economic and financial tie to Nigeria. You would need to include the land registry or ownership documents. If you must use that account, then you may consider including a copy of the rental agreement between you and the tenant(s) or a document that shows evidence of the rents or receipts from paid rents. But these rents need to be regular and somewhat consistent.

On the flip side, you must clarify the reason your employer wants to pay for your holiday flights. This is not typical of employers gesture and could be a problem. If your employee wants to pay for your flight, you do not need to state this. However you must make a reasonable budget to include flights as if you were gonna pay for these.

I have just seen your feedback about your contract of paid holiday flight. I believe that would be a benefit to you and no one else accompanying you on the said flight. In this case, who pays for any other applicant travelling with you? Remember to include the letter of employment or contract stipulating such travel benefit and also get the hospital to do you a letter stating they would pay for this particular flight. Otherwise someone may assume the hospital may limit their flight offer to only Lagos to Abuja.

Not sure family visa is for visiting close family members and not family friends. What you would need is just the regular tourist visa undecided

Oh thanks. Noted. What do I need pls?

You are going on vacation or personal visit. Your job paying for your travel tickets in this situation is not going to help your application since you are going for personal visit. Your visit is not business related. No one is going to believe this. Look for something else to say

The ECO doesn’t appreciate UK family tie when it comes to visiting visa, they would believe your dad would help you overstay and get paper in UK. Therefore they gonna continue to give unreasonable excuse to refuse you. Even though you have explained the funds, Well try to provide proof of the irregular funds deposited into your account and reapply and let’s see if they come up with another excuse

They will not know because you are applying alone. Where they ask for name & address of your family members. Use your Nigerian address for her in your application.

That's too early, suppose to be within 90 days (or 3 months) before your travel date

We all know some are looking for greener pasture and better opportunities for their children, if you wanna do sacrifice why not do it while did 50% and struggling with 50%? Since you decided on your illegal decision, you should have be with your daughter to overstay there and not come home. What’s the point of your coming home? Your husband and other kids still in Nigeria huh? Or u still want your freedom and not get stuck in UK? you may not see your daughter again for years.

Well you should have returned to those that advised you to leave your daughter in UK for further advice.

If they would know you left your daughter in UK isn’t an option for u, Straight forward answer to your question is ECO would wanna see proof you returned to Nigeria with your daughter. Well when you reapply, you could be luck and the ECO attention won’t on if your daughter returned with you or not. Good luck with that gamble. Note if anyone later helps your daughter to put in application in UK for a stay, your gamble game is off coz embassy would automatically know whenever you reapply.

Secondly about Ireland, well yes they do share info but Ireland won’t know you left your daughter in UK though but they would be aware you were issued visas.

Didn’t wanna reply u though cuz I don’t like people making half decision, get burn fully and don’t half burn OR u don’t burn at all coz the other half is a waste.

What a crazy decision you took there with your daughter

1. Getting a permanent stay for her in the future would be VERY VERY difficult on overstayed visa and illegal migration. Aside this when deported, she could be banned for life.

2. On whether the UK HC will know ...its 50-50. Her name may pop as co-applicant to your now expired visa and a curious ECO may want to know more about her either from you or UK records .....somehow your daughter may have used NHS while in the UK through her guardian or whoever you farmed her to. Next if that is done, you could be prosecuted or banned for life or child trafficking.

3. Most definitely, Ireland and the UK share Visa applicants' information.

Whilst being hopeful, your friend must watch out for potential red flags..

1. It is questionable a mere friend sponsoring a 2 week vacation for someone
2. Why is the relationship special enough to warrant such a treat?
3. Someone who is not working and has no financial tie to Nig can be perceived as a potential overstayer
4. ECO may question why the husband who the lady is dependent on financially is not the one sponsoring the trip or at least taking the most chunk of it

Nevertheless there is no rule against anyone in your friend’s situation. She just has to convince the Entry Clearance Officer that she would return after the 2 weeks. Try and take care of the list above which can pose a problem. Consider the following points, which of course are not exhaustive:

1. Your friend’s husband needs to co-sponsor, possibly paying for flights. If this is the case, his bank statements must be submitted and there should be enough disposable funds to accommodate this.
2. She needs her marriage certificate and the birth certificates of all her kids in Nig. These can serve as family ties.
3. She may need some ownership of some assets, preferably in her name or joint names with her husband. These can be economic ties.
4. It is best to tie the visit to some important event; vacation may not fly
5. She needs her bank statements with regular deposits from the husband over a period of 6 months to show they are actually in a marriage, not just one off stipends
6. It may do her good to include a cover letter from her husband confirming he is aware of the trip

Try to think of things that would make her return back to Nig.
A house wife who probably is of working age but not working and desiring to travel to UK on a friend’s invitation and full sponsorship is a massive red flag.

she needs to answer the pressing question- for what reason is the friend fully sponsoring the trip for and not her spouse who gives her allowances? Also being unemployed is a big issue. She can decide not to return. She needs to think like an eco and convince herself first

This is dicey. If you and your daughter applied separately as 2 separate individuals, then you are good to go. However if there are odds affecting a participant of the joint application, it invariably affects the other
