This is really a sad moment for every Nigerian students out there, when you fit into a job description and then you found out they only want people with higher degree.

Graduating with a 3rd class or pass degree I believe is no sin. But employers out there would not even look at your CV when you are below par, no matter the amount of experience you are bringing. Some unavoidable things must have happened in school that led to that, but nobody cares.

How then do you tell that to the people around you? Especially your parents or guardians who’d be feeling like their investments on you went down the drain. When people finish from the university with a third class or pass degree, they most times feel like their whole world came crashing down on them. How then do one get to a good job?

I personally fall into this category due to some unforseen circumstances but who cares. After searching fruitlessly for jobs for a year now, I just have to sit back and think about my life.

My fellow Nairalanders what is the way forward?No job, no capital to startup my own business, no money to go back for a postgraduate course. Its just me myself and I (Owusagi)

Either way, the rich ppl with the real money don’t even av a certificate. Just that they employ the certificate one to upgrade their statues.

Why is it that average Nigeria graduate want to work in an already established companies. Can't you develop yourself with the knowledge you acquired in school?
With the way Nigeria's population is shooting up daily, coupled with the unbelievable number of graduates being churned out yearly from our- Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education, it is no longer a news that there can never be enough ready-made jobs or job openings that would absorb this abnormal population, so what do you do? Act fast!

The unemployment situation in Nigeria has gone beyond having faith, being intelligent, knowing people, graduating from the best school and with the best result...

In case you don't know, if you think that because you are a member of Chosen, MFM, RCCG, Winners, SCOAN, etc would guarantee you immediate job, then you are dreaming because as you are busy firing your prayer at MFM, the Chosen guy is somewhere claiming the same job by virtue of- I am the chosen one while the Winners guy is at another arena getting dressed to resume work by faith even before the interview...you see

Just find a way of leaving this country. You won't be appreciated if you have that kind of degree in this country. You can defy the odds and succeed though but the unkind and discriminatory comments that will follow for opening this kind of thread will be testimony and can discourage you

Your mind determines your life not your certificate,there are many first-class students who are useless while there are many people who have never known how the four walls of lecture rooms look like but are useful.

They work in NNPC, PPPRA and other top notch organization earning big and living well.

The fact that you came out with low grade doesn't make you useless, it only means you behave to work harder. Stop feeling low or what made you be in the position and why people are not feeling sorry for you. You are the only one you can change. It's not a must you must work in your field of study. Developed yourself.

If you graduated with a third class or pass, stop looking for job. There are other ways of making it in life apart for m white collar job. My wife had a Pass and I cannot afford most of the thing she can afford today . I think this country will start moving forward when we stop teaching people become another man's slave

Bros life it self nah school see Omo Igbo .. In those days we use to yab them that they no dey go school only shed ... But now ... Nah dem dey drive big car ...with 3 spare part shops ..

They end up becoming business leaders and CEO's. There is a reason they end up bagging third class. It's not something I have the time to explain.

In this present day Nigeria. 2.2 is classified as a bad grade unless you have a parent /uncle in one of the industry.
All these : go for post graduate degrees, it will aid your chance of getting a job is absolutely waste of time. If you want to further your education, do so with the conviction of expanding your knowledge base because if you go there and waste another 18 months, it is only God that can intervene.
But there are rare success stories which is just 2% out of 100.

That's sad one. My advice is for you to be an entrepreneur.. Start a business. Or look for someone who is about to start a business and be a partner or you can go online and read or watch YouTube videos on how to start something new. And, I'm sure you as a person has a particular skill, just make use of it irrespective of what it might be. Lastly, ask those ur uncles or aunties or that ur friend to tell his parents about ur situation. You will never know if you're lucky. Just ask. The worst they can say is NO and you move on.

If you graduated with a 3rd class or pass and at the same time you didn't do or learn anything significant with your time, then it's likely you're a failure already.except you sit up.

But according to life, it depends on what they accept.

Otondo, Wehdone ooo. Those grade ain't useless and does not determine who you are. You may do some professional courses, start a biz or travel abroad. The choice is yours.

That scenario is for those who engaged themselves with business or learning skills in school (which made then have less time for studies) . Not these olodo who didn't read and didn't do anything productive either
