Is God Perfect? by Aderewah: 11:19am On Mar 08, 2020
I have a question. Perfection is supposed to mean that everything is completely right without exception. Perfection means you can't make mistakes Many religions, especially Christianity and Islam says God is perfect.

Did Good make a mistake in creating Satan and the world? If the world is God's creation and is far from perfect, does it mean God isn't perfect? Can a perfect Good create a far from perfect world?

Kindly share your thoughts.

Very wonderful question.

Most religion inclined people will never in a million years ask this kind of question because they believe it is a sin.

Unless, you are trying to deny the existence of God, then yes, God is Perfection.

There's nothing about God that needs improvement.

Everything about God is perfect.

His knowledge is perfect.

His love is perfect.

The Universe is perfect. The world is perfect. Everything that God has created is perfect.

Now, that doesn't mean that everything IS perfect right now. No. Obviously not.

But everything has perfection within it and everything that is not perfect at the moment is STRIVING towards perfection.

That is the meaning of our lives.

Everybody, everything is striving towards perfection, that potentially exists within them.

What we call Satan is that part of us that we need to overcome. The selfish habits, the wicked habits, the lazy habits etc. Those are the weaknesses we have inherited from previous lifetimes which we are struggling against.

Like an old Red Indian sage told his student, within every human is a bad wolf and a good wolf constantly struggling against each other.

And the student asked, "master, which wolf eventually wins"

And the blind old man said, "the one that you feed the most".

Everything in existence is struggling upwards towards God, towards perfection.

Some make quick progress.

Others make very slow progress.

But all make some progress towards perfection. Towards the state that God has created as a potentiality within them.

That's why man will reincarnate over and over again until he has learnt the lessons he should learn in this plane before moving forward.

To know whether God is perfect or not, we have to know what God considers as perfection, otherwise, God will argue that, what he's doing is perfection, and it's humans that doesn't understand perfection.
In otherwords, both humans and God must first establish the meaning of perfection, before we can now measure his attributes to it.

Wrong.
If everything's was perfect there would be no need for progression.

Read what I wrote again bro.

Only God is Perfect in actuality and in potentiality.

Every other thing is created potentially perfect.

That means that, they can and must strive to achieve perfection because they already have the potentiality.

God created everything good.

Even your Bible says that much.

God does not need to argue the meaning of perfection with man.
Neither does it makes sense to judge him without defending himself, otherwise, i consider it a fruitless exercise.

Lol, the one that will cross/cancel your post is coming, better ask for forgiveness, or tell your God to stop him.
It's funny though, that guy must mean your matter. cheesy

Again, let God come and say it himself, if he's perfect or not, or are you his lawyer? cheesy

Oh that one?

He needs a job.

It would be wicked to deprive him of the joy of feeling busy.

I don't want him to go rape someone's daughter out of joblessness and then claim it is the devil.

It is better he is gainfully employed on Nairaland cleaning up after us. smiley

As for God, you don't understand the concept of the Absolute. If you did, you'll understand that God doesn't and won't ever need to do that.

You can only understand from your own level of comprehension, which is OK.

When your mind is ready to accept the truth, it will open up.

For one last time, here goes.

In every baby born, there is the potential of a full grown man contained in the little tot.

The baby grows and struggles to reach that potential, that man that is contained in him even as a foetus.

Same thing with everything created.

Only God has always ever been and always ever will be perfect.

Every other thing has perfection as a potentiality within it, just as a baby has the potentiality of a fully developed man.

In that sense, everything God has created is good.

Now, it's okay if you don't grasp that.

There will always be opportunity to learn and grow in knowledge.

it's God that is making me not to understand the 'concept of Absolute'.

You don't understand because you have closed your mind.

When you begin to seek the truth and the truth hits you in the face, you will recognize it and you will make it your own.

You aren't ready yet.

It is pointless arguing about spiritual things.

Your level is your level.

When you make progress, you make progress.

It is that simple.

You aren't asking because you want to know.

You are asking to feed your skepticism.

That's OK too.

It's a phase.

We've all been there.

God is perfect in all ways , but he gave all his creations Freewill, they are not robots , so some use it in a good way and others in a bad way.

Satan was once a faithful angel . John 8:44 says he " didn't stand firm in the truth " . Didn't stand firm proved he was once firm

Did Good create Satan, knowing he would eventually go rougue? Or God had no idea?

The question is why? Why can't we be perfect already? It will save billions of people so much suffering. If you say we are so inconsequential to understand, then why is our worship so important? Remember we didn't choose to come to the world. 97% of people would have chosen not to exist of they knew the suffering they were coming to face.

The mistake here is you are assuming because he has power to foresee the future means he uses it at all times. For your information Sir , he doesn't use such power when it comes to our freewill .

A case study of what happened at Genesis 23 shed light on this ..

He told Abraham to sacrifice Isaac his son to check if he is faithful to him , after passing the check ... Could you believe he told Abraham at verse that " NOW I KNOW that you are God fearing " emphasis on the Color part, If God used his power to foreknow Abraham's Choices , the Now I know would be an outright lie . But the scripture told us he can't lie. ( Titus 1:2) Hence that statement shows he doesn't use his power to over ride our freewill .

So yes he created a Faithful Angel, but aspects of how an individual will use their freewill he chooses not to foreknow

Now the question is, is my imperfection now part of his perfection?

I see you're a Jehovah witness. You claim we can't use human intelligence to understand God in one sentence. Next sentence, you're explaining away what God does and why from a few paragraphs.
