There is no Human rights in Nigeria ohh

A Police officer will arrest you and frame you for serious crimes and if you keep forming my rights he will arraign you in court on a friday before a magistrate that does not have jurisdiction who will then remand you to prison custody.

Your lawyer who you think will fight your case will only be interested in his court fees - so the more times you appear in court the more he gets paid.

Your lawyer will then have to get the IPO to send the case file to the right court. You will pay for this to happen. Then you will pay the court's register to file the case for hearing as son as possible. By this time you would have spent no shorter than 2 weeks in prison custody.

Big day for court has arrived and now the Warden is demanding fuel money from you or you will not get to court.

You manage to get to court and the case is called up. Your greedy lawyer does not enter a plea on your behalf but argues that the court has no jurisdiction. You will sleep in prison for the next 2weeks.

Finally you get sense and get a new lawyer and repeat the same steps above by bribing the IPO and court register to file your case.

You enter a plea and your reasonable lawyer asks for a bail on your behalf. The judge then requests he files an official application to that means. Case is adjourned for one month and you remain in lockdown.

Big day comes and your lawyer tells you that you need to bribe the Police prosecutor so as not to oppose you bail. You have no choice. 20K has been paid to the IPO.

The judge grants you bail on liberal terms. Now you must secure the sureties. This time you engage with the court registrar who will - for a fee- arrange professional sureties on your behalf whom you must pay the bail sum upfront plus 10% as their commission. The registrar gets his own commision. You will still follow the black maria back to prison. Your bail warrants now have to be processed at the prison. You must give the wardens money to sign and approve your release.

Your trouble doesn't stop there now that you are free, you still owe your lawyer money and the IPO is threatening to add more charges on you and revoke your bail unless you pay up.

Do not pray for Police wahala in this Buhari govt.

Majority in ATM in prison yards are innocent.

Mind you the scenario I played out can only happen if you have money and are interested in fighting for your non-existing rights

You think all inmates are criminals?

Many of them are awaiting trials. Many of these people may be innocent. Some of them may stay there 15 years without appearing before a judge.

See, just always pray never to get into trouble that you neither know the head nor tail. When those beggars pray for you that "Akoba, Adaba, oloun ma je a ri" just always say a loud amen.

A person may be driving his car jejely, and a small boy will just run into his path, and gbosa, and before he knows it, trouble has started for him. He finds himself in a police cell. He may be there 15 years, and family and friends will be busy bribing this person or that to facilitate his trial.

Leave that small boy.

He doesn't know the country he is living in.

He thinks there is such a thing as human rights in Nigeria

You're an illiterate, you couldn't hide it. You've lost humanity.

When people stand trial for various cases, they are mostly reminded in prison till there bail conditions are met. So... Because he's standing trial, he should die.

If I know you, one on one, I will sue you for Murder, which is not a bailable offense, the trial will last at least 4 years, before you will be vindicated, then... You will know that it's not everybody who's in prison, that's a criminal.

Na to comot eye from the soup employ yourself manually then buy Indomie noodles with your pocket money. It’s the situation around the world: inmates are fed with cheap products so they use their wages to buy proper, although cheap, alternatives.

when are we going to understand that Nigeria isn't all that rich, and the politicians rip us off atleast 50% of our merge income from Oil? Nigerian Prison budgets 10 billion naira or $27 million USD, while US Prisons budgets $100 billion USD or 36 trillion naira each year

In US Fed tax from 10% to 30% of your tax depending on your tax bracket, State tax from 8% to 12%, so 40% of what you work for goes to the Government so If you earn 10,000 naira US government collects 4,000 naira from you an the remaining Salary you have 6,000k naira you pay 10% tax on every item you buy through VAT tax, yet US produces 15 million barrels per day with a population of 350 million, and Nigeria produces 2 million barrels per day with population of 200 million

If you want our criminals to eat better food than eba and beans soup, then maybe we can as well pay more tax or reduce what we budget on education and seciurity

.

western nations collect alot of what you earn....black people think its a lie and over their is paradies....

Prison is called Correctional Facility, what that means is that it deprives criminals of their freedom is a way of making them pay a debt to society for their crimes and come out a better individuals.

Since when did water turn soup, can you feed that to your dogs?

if somebody should incriminate you, while undergoing trial, are you saying the government should starve you?

It's not a place of malnutrition, in fact Prison isn't a death sentence, because a lot of persons are still on trial, waiting for their fate.
