stop messing up woman....

Egusi soup is a kind of soup thickened with the ground seeds and popular in West Africa, with considerable local variation. Besides the seeds, water, and oil, Egusi soup typically contains leaf vegetables, Palm oil, other vegetables, seasonings, and meat.
Vegetables leaf typically used for Egusi soup include bitterleaf, pumpkin leaf, celosia and spinach. Typical other vegetables include tomatoes and okra. Typical seasonings include chili peppers, onions, and locust beans. Also commonly used are beef, goat, fish, shrimps, or crayfish.

Are you gonna shut up now....keep ranting it's an Igbo word.

Between my short comments and your long epistles, which seems more like a rant?

What is "melon" in Yoruba and what is it in Igbo? Is it a hard question?

That's according to google translate.

My own knowledge tells me that melon is egusi in Igbo.
According to google translate, melon seed is "elegede" in Yoruba.
So, according to you, what is melon in Yoruba?

Egusi is an Igbo word that means Melon seed. Check it on google translate if you don't believe me. All of this posturing is not necessary as all you need to do is answer these simple questions: what is "melon" in Igbo and what is it in Yoruba?

Why is it so hard to answer this question?
I use that same translator here, see d result. Next time before you argue try make research so u won't look like a mumu at d end.

I don't know why igbos on this forum always refer to yorubas as ewedu and amala eater.
I guess, most Igbos must be used to Oyo state and are used to seeing people eat amala and ewedu with relish even in parties to conclude all yorubas are amala lovers.
The ones who never came down west rely solely on information fed to them by their traveled kins, whether true or not, they don't care to find out.
Simple research could have taken care of that na
People shouldn't be this lazy now.
The delicacy is the traditional food of primarily Oyo people and I guess some parts of kwara( if I'm not mistaken)
Other yorubas have theirs just that other yorubas prepare it to to have varieties.
what's your point?

Who tell u Egusi is an Igbo dish? Go google Egusi nd educate urself.

All Africans eats Egusi nd most of the countries nd tribes in Africa calls it Egusi or a name related to Egusi, even Ghana, Togo nd so on. Yoruba's has been cooking Egusi b4 Igbo's migrated to Nigeria from Egypt where they served as slaves.
All Nigerians eat Jollof rice but it originated somewhere.

Most Nigerians eat ofe akwu but we know where it originated from.

"All Africans eat egusi" does not answer where it originated from. Its an Igbo soup.

If you do what you did with Hausa instead of yoruba then you'll get the same result. Does that mean that Egusi soup is also Hausa in origin?

Translate "melon" from English to Yoruba, English to Hausa etc and then you'll see where the word truly originates from.

Don't mind him. I would like any Yoruba speakers to please be honest and say what the real Yoruba word is for melon. We all know that Yorubas did not originally call melon seeds egusi. It's an Igbo word.
