[quote author=Temitee4 post=87171508]Good evening all.

I am new here but in a dilemma. Been reading a lot on this thread but I’m getting more confused so I need help with these questions;

1. I applied for PR and I thought it would have come but now I am about 18 weeks pregnant so I’m seeking a plan B to have my baby in Canada which is to apply for a medical visa. Does this in any way jeopardize my PR application?

2. Where do I download this medical visa form from? All I’m seeing is Temporary resident visa form.

3. Is it better to use paper or online application?

4. How do I get a doctor to book me seeing that most of them don’t even want to accept upfront payment?

Still have more questions but I will appreciate response to the above first.

Thanks a lot, although I registered this account a while ago but I haven’t been using it.

Hi mamas. Pls I registered at a private hospital and about to travel next week. Does airlines accept private hospital fit to fly? Though, I'm not heading to Canada. Thanks
Re: Giving Birth In Canada by Neile: 9:37pm On Mar 11, 2020
Yes they do. I flew to the US last week using Ethiopian airlines at 23 weeks and used fit to fly from Lagoon hospital. Be sure to have photocopies with you as they request for copies.

It may not affect your PR application but it may result in denial because of intent(for a visiting visa, you have to prove that you’re going back to your home country but you already expressed interest in relocating permanently-your pr application-making the whole process counterintuitive). But you can try though, don’t take my word for it. I’m sorry to ask, but why are you stressing yourself?, your baby will still be a Canadian citizen even if(hopefully not) the PR visa doesn’t come before EDD, besides you still have like 15 weeks, PR visa may even come before then. Applying for visiting visa may even take time, i can see some people complain of not hearing anything since October. I hope you make the best decision , all the best!

Hi there Neile,
May I inquire what types of questions you were asked at the Port of entry? What documentation did you have? I'm quite concerned being pregnant (not too far gone) if I would have a hard time.
Thanks.

Hi. I was only asked how long I would be staying which was 5 days and the officer said “enjoy your stay ma’am”. I was actually in the US to meet my Ob/Gyn and had all my health insurance documents but I wasn’t asked at all. At 23 weeks and no intention made to hide it (by wearing my jacket for instance), there was no mistaking that I was pregnant. I guess being a frequent traveler (Visited the US twice through EWR in 4 months and travel every other month to different countries) helped as in recent times I never get any serious questions. I hope this helps.

If you're not coming in as a permanent resident, don't buy your tickets. You won't be allowed in and nobody knows how long the ban will last.

People that have PR visas are not excluded since they are not Permanent residents until they land.

UPDATE!!!
People with PR visas (gotten before March 16th) can now enter Canada but must not have symptoms like fever(over 38 degrees), coughing and difficulty breathing and if they have these symptoms, they must provide a medical certificate stating that the symptoms are not as a result of COVID-19. Other people exempted include- seasonal workers, international students with study permit(study visa is not the same with study permit). Visitors are still not allowed.
