Life comes with different phase, staying in Naija as a graduate is not easy, don’t associate yourself with failure, people did not make it does not means I will not make it, there is a million reason why the person fail. I have never seen a Naija student that travel to the United States for studies and go back to Nigeria except those that their family already lay a huge position waiting for them. People have been here thru academics and got their residency via H1B. And lastly no course in the United States is useless, know what you study and be good at it, you will get multiple offers. Stop trying to discourage people, instead motivate them.

No course is useless but some would afford you more opportunities than others, tell yourself the truth.

At the end of the day, your success or failure doesn’t affect me in any way. I can only offer my opinion(s), you’re completely at liberty to do whatever pleases you.

By the way, on the contrary, I’m not discouraging anyone. The way I see it, I’m actually motivating whoever cares, to do things the right way, & take steps that would present them lots of opportunities.

Of what use is getting your Master’s in something blue chips don’t care for, then you start looking for a job but can’t find one so you opt of a PhD or a second Master’s?

If your life’s goal is to be in academics, fine. By all means study whatever you want. But if you hope for a career in a fortune 100, study something a fortune 100 would care for.

Good write up, however, I don't think it is as easy as you are presenting it to be. You also have to understand that unless someone is just starting their academic journey at the undergraduate level, the advice might not be for everyone. For people seeking graduate admission, we all have our different undergraduate background, qualifications and prerequisites. So not everybody can just wake up and say they want to do engineering courses and selected courses in management science. For example, I don't think someone who studied Chemical engineering as an undergraduate will just opt to go for a biology or public administration master's. Likewise, I don't think someone with an arts, humanities or administration background can navigate themselves into a graduate study in engineering. If you have a way around it, you can as well share. I know a lot of people here think about like in the US after studies including the success of getting a H1-B Visa, following your defined 'ideal pathway' might not be easy for some

Actually, once you acquire your Master’s degree, less weight is placed on your Nigerian Bachelor’s degree. Employers don’t really care for your Nigerian Bachelor’s based on experience.

I’ve seen people who studied Food Tech, Biology, Sociology, Political Science, come to the US & graduate with MS degrees in Industrial Management, Management Information Systems, Data Science, Data Analytics, etc. Many of them now work for GE, Cummins, Apple, Microsoft & other fortune 500’s. Go to LinkedIn and search for yourself.

Look for the right schools & research! Like I said, many won’t understand till they come here & see their mates getting internships and jobs left and right, & their only option is to opt for a PhD cos they can’t find jobs.

Honestly don't know any excuse for not posting here earlier even though I was busy, visa approved last month February, undergraduate studies.

I guess my punishment I gave to myself is to compile the whole of visa transcript from the previous thread part 14.

So for the Undergraduates I know we have been following silently, but any questions be it evaluation, transcript, sevis, e.t.c I will gladly answer that's my way of giving back to this community.

Never forget even if it's undergraduate degree you are going for still come prepared as that's what they expect from you.

took about 5-6 days to get the result. I don’t know about how long it took the sch to get it, as I didn’t bother.

Those in Europe should be more worried, as it’s now the epicenter of the disease.

In all, let’s be hopeful things get better soonest.

By the way, it’s in the US with 400 cases and death toll of 50 ... Let’s pray things get better soonest!

US to suspend all travel to UK & Ireland from Monday night due to pandemic

The United Kingdom and Ireland will soon be added to the list of nations that are banned from traveling to the United States, as the country tries to contain its Covid-19 coronavirus outbreak.
"The president has decided to suspend all travel from the UK and Ireland midnight, Monday night, Eastern Standard Time," Vice President Mike Pence said at a White House press conference on Saturday, adding that US citizens in those nations are encouraged to "come home."

Good morning all.

I once posted a question but no one help in answering it.
I have went through couple of visa interview transcripts here but I realised most are for Master and PhD.

May I have samples for B.sc.

I would like to know if there are differences in the mode of interview.

I will be more than glad if I can get some Bsc transcript.
I'm preparing for my Visa interview and I want to be fully prepared as ignorance is a sin, I really dont want to be ignorant of any info that will aid my approval.

Thank you.

Both undergraduate visa interview interview and post graduate follows the same interview pattern. Almost all that is asked a graduate student is asked undergraduate students.

Just prepare well for your interview and prepare to answer similar questions to the ones you see here.
